  1. Please tell me I'm not the only one who thinks the Icons shouldn't have chainsaws? Cindy with a chainsaw? Really? Really???? I always loved Cindy but chainsaw? Maybe that's just too much of a good thing. People are going to get immune to them. Lady Lucks dress was definitely made for someone with... A little bit more boobs. It looks really awkward the way it sits on the actress currently. At no fault to her.
  2. According to the website this sounds like the private RIP tour, and not the regular RIP tour. There's a big difference. The private tour is 1K+ total compared to the basic RIP which is $139. 3. That just bets on if they do decide to revisit the idea, that they won't charge you separate for them though. I can see them trying now. Especially after the HP expansion. You can't just ride the train, see Diagon alley, and then ride back without going into Universal Studios to experience Wizarding world in it's fullest. It's a pretty effective strategy currently to get people to pay to see both sides of the same coin. We'll see in the years come what they decide to do to handle the crowds. Whatever it is, it's probably going to come with a price though.
  4. Someone I know who isn't a HHN nut and has only been twice and went into M&M, AWIL, Body Collectors, and Asylum said this house was by far the worst one and all of the rest were great. So even people who didn't see it the first go around aren't digging it.
  5. What I said is accurate. I said, AS A CONSUMER. I would not pay double the money to purchase a pass both parks to experience less than what I would with a single park event. It's not happening. If you want me to pay for two park passes at the same or higher price as they cost now the return value needs to be the same or higher. I'm not paying $110+ per park to get half of what I do now, and be expected to have to purchase the other park ticket to see the rest.
  6. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but you're supposed to go through Jasons scenes, then through Freddy's scenes (these are in no relation to who wins but are just part of the build up) and at the end after you go through each of their respective scenes there's supposed to be a versus and the winner alternates depending on the which cast set it is? That's how it was explained to me, that you'd find out at the end and that the winner changes. But I haven't gone through it so maybe I'm not the best person to respond to this.
  7. My opinion, while Uni may be crowded, it's nowhere near ready for a 2 park event anytime soon. This is coming from a consumers (me) standpoint. We've just reached 9 houses (one which is just a repeat). If UniOrl wants to put it in two parks, in order to justify the price they'd need at LEAST 8 houses per park or one park cost considerably less than the other if they can't reach the same amount of content. I would buy a 2 park 2 night pass with the expectation one park is not lesser in content than the other. It'll be impossible to do 16 houses in one night (especially with up to an hour wasted in walk time) but at the same time I'm not going to spend the same kind of money as I do now for only one park that has been reduced/split to 4 houses instead of 8 so that you CAN do everything in one night and get half the value I can currently get with all 8 houses in one place. Nope. Then like what they already experience with potter, people will gripe about "I feel soooo pressured to buy a 2 park pass to see everything potter" if they split HHN. In order to achieve 2 parks the value needs to be the same in both parks as it is now to justify the price for content. And right now I personally don't think they can make that leap. I don't really care about creatives reasonings or whatever. But my wallet says no to the idea in the meantime.
  8. Word of mouth is traveling really fast too. This reminds me of when Frozen came out with how fast it's snowballing (pun intended). When Frozen came out it was not instantly a hit people literally walked into the movie without knowing the plot and didn't know what to expect, watched it, loved it, and word of mouth turned the movie into an empire in just a few weeks and now we have a huge mess and can't escape it. Same with this years HHN. Overall it's getting favorable feedback from the casual attendees. There's a lot of people who I know do not normally do HHN that are interested in it this year due to positive word of mouth.
  9. I'm really bummed because I really loved the show this year. Then again I got every single reference so maybe that's why, I was pretty much laughing the whole way through and the dance numbers were well done and entertaining. If anyone has any questions about what anything was feel free to ask me. One that is often missed is the first person who is vaporized. She's from a series called Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (I hope the link works). It's a comedy and personally I loved the show, it aired back in spring of this year and season 2 (if we're lucky) isn't coming until spring of next year which is a major bummer. Also maybe it was just me but the opening number was a nod to Rocky Horror Picture Show if you pay attention.
  10. Well in my experience I had the opportunity to get into Monsters and Mayhems line at about 12:56 we were passing it on the way out from Bill & Teds last show but I was tired and didn't want to wait an extra 45 minutes to go home. As for the rest? Uh? That's just a little nosy unless you know that member well. Meh.
  11. They actually don't promise this anymore. Unless they do for HHN only. Buuuuut. In regards to the express/non express ratio. There's no cure for the problem. But it's worse to be yelled at by someone who paid extra $$ than it is by someone who didn't. I've never worked a house a day in my life but my ratio for express when I had worked with it elsewhere on a good day the ratio was a split 1/2. If express got backed up I went to 2/3 and if express wasn't backed up a lot but the main line was I switched to 1/3 for express and never had to overhear anyone in any line complain. The house attendants may either be still learning how to do count ratios correctly or maybe they are forced to let X amount of express in regardless of how unfair it is against the main line. Everyone is a paying customer. I understand. But the attendants are just trying to get through the night doing what they were told to do.
  12. You can walk into a line up until the minute the park closes and they'll let you through the line. Even if it's at a 45 minute wait. They do not close the lines earlier than the park unless an extreme circumstance occurs and they make that judgement call on the spot. All they have to do is know someone to get an EP ticket.
  13. I saw one YT video review that called the wolfman or someone in DIE IN a jerk because they wouldn't stop to take a picture.. Really?? The point is to SCARE not stand around and pose for pictures..... There was so many picture taking/selfies in the streets this year.
  14. Ah good to know that they have an Icon there. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't one of the look-a-like "ushers" that they have walking around that isn't the real icon/usher. I caught a glimpse of a girl version of the usher yesterday. Thanks!
  15. Does Does Jack and Chance show up or is it just meh random people? That's THE usher right? There's a couple of look-a-likes walking around the streets. Had me confused for a minute until I realized he wasn't legit.
  16. Insidious is the rave review house this year. M&M, Bodycollectors are all great but there's been a LOT of good word traveling around about Insidious. So I can kind of see it not being on. I think their wait times get up there despite the location even before B&T show dump. I haven't been keeping my eye on it but it seems like a headliner so far.
  17. Lol. The nitpicky is strong right now. Really, projections of 25 on the side of buildings and NY's music ruin your night? That's enough to send you over the edge? Projections are meh, but I wouldn't really let something like that ruin the mood. As for the music it's a block party with Shadybrook Asylum. They have some classic halloween songs like the Witch Doctor I've heard the Theme from A Summer Place is thrown in though I haven't heard it but that's a Shadybrook Staple. Is the music loud? Yes, but so are general guest noises, screams, chainsaws etc. it'd easily be drowned out otherwise. For instance, I can never hear the opening ceremonies audio over everyone yelling no matter what video I watch. Someone who was there said they couldn't hear it either. It's not like creative has run out of ideas the street of NY. The street has a LOT going on. A lot of props, a lot of mini "shows". I'm really not sure what you honestly expected for HHN? It didn't seem like anything horribly major that was so much of a letdown was complained about. I guess lack of theme could be the biggest issue, but there hasn't been a theme in how many years now? Lack of detail might be another but technically it was day 1 and I'd generally give them the full first week to figure things out. They had a mini stage on EP and it was gone on Opening. So there's still things they are undoubtably working on until the event gets to peak nights later on.
  18. From what it seems for preview night weather was disastrous up until opening. There was a torrential downpour just hours before while many were on their way. Luckily it seemed to have all cleared up just as it was about to start with a few light drizzles here an there. Stilts were grounded for a time or so I've heard and there were no actors in the streets for nearly an hour after opening??
  19. It's on youtube and I saw it that way. In the very least at least if they change it, they'll always have the first version on YT unless they are forced to remove it.
  20. A LOT of reviews said that they didn't get to see any kills in this zone. I guess maybe no one was spending enough time here while trying to see as many houses as possible? Someone should volunteer to spectate this zone for a full 45 and see what the order and timing is.
  21. Prices are indeed super crazy. I haven't been to the store but my friend went to get me a coffee mug. They texted me that they were almost $25! I told them never mind but they ended up getting it for me along with the vinyl figure of Jack, which was about $15 they said? I don't have the receipt but they said it was around $40 for those + a bottle of water or something. Absolutely crazy. But merch is diverse and cool this year. They'll only be able to sell it for one month so I can see the upcharge I guess. I don't know how it'd go if they sold out of something and how they'd get it back in stock quickly if say a mug was $10 and flying off the shelves in a way that wouldn't leave them with 500 mugs at the end of the run or no mugs for half of the month because they ran out and couldn't make more or something.
  22. This picture is from Singapore AND IT LOOKS AMAZING. I would love a prop setup like that in Orlando and I'm incredibly jealous. I can't imagine the effort it took to pull that off. As you can see there's a lot of reinforcement beams across all of the buildings to support that monster. But I bet it looks amazing at night with lighting and effects. Maybe we can expect something like this in the near future? Maybe over Sting alley or someplace with close enough building facades to pull it off.
  23. Funny though, My friend Asylum was posted at a 15 and it was a 45. Insidious was posted at 500? Either that was an error or maybe they thought they saw an extra 0? Either way. Judging from a lot of peoples input, they need a LOT of work on their wait time accuracy.
  24. I managed to kind of stop by. I didn't see the houses nor many of the scarezones but I did see the midnight viewing of Bill and Ted and honestly I absolutely loved it. Then again I got all of the references so that's probably why. Unless you're a local half will fly over your head. From my friend who did see the houses and zones They loved M&M and Alice 3D. Unfortunately they didn't catch on that it was an Alice themed house and kept calling it Asylum but they said it was still cool and colorful. They also went into body collectors and AWIL. They weren't all that impressed with AWIL. Evils Roots was their favorite zone followed by the clown chainsaws. On an unrelated note. I take articles/reviews/blogs by those "Insider/Informer/Junkie" sites with a grain of salt. A lot of their articles just regurgitate media releases. Some are pretty heavily biased towards Universal from Disney if you read their articles close enough and often. One of them posted an article on how to cheat the system and get out of paying for an optional feature within the parks by suggesting a method that takes away from others who need to utilize the feature and do not have an option. Was in highly poor taste of an article and the site lost all credibility from then on.
