  1. Pictures of animals (mostly dogs) are all over FvJ house. I love this cat however Shadybrook Easily missed detail photo in Monsters & Mayhem in the laboratory
  2. Just reiterating what the guide said about the GATs. For that reason; I wouldn't go around purposely touching house props that their intended purpose is likely not to be touched as a GAT as to not accidentally break it. I trust my guide who says there aren't any GATs this year than someone on a forum going around trying to press anything they can and see what happens.
  3. I forgot if it was the tour guide or our guest guide whom I forget who it was (I was tired I apologize but he did seem to know his stuff and would go and work the puppets and other props such as showed us the scrim effect in M&M and that one particular scene in bodycollectors.) He really displayed his feelings towards the ops and mentioned how in one house they just loooooved to stand right in front of this particular art design in asylum instead of standing off to the side of it thus ruining the intended effect of the room. You'd think by now those who spent all of this time and effort to create these sets and effects would tell those who run the house that it's not OK to ruin the effects like that and suggest better places to stand...like..idk.. in the empty area beside the effect and not in the middle of it? As someone who is familiar with being pushed for counts and capacity and being disciplined when those counts are not met I understand them. They are just doing their job. If they didn't keep the lines moving the wait would be longer and thus more complaints that way. However the experience would hopefully be more better as it would be more immersive just making it slightly more justifiable. But is a simple change of no house ops yelling at you really worth a longer wait? Is that enough to make it better? Who knows. In an ideal world ops should probably only get involved if someone is deliberately not moving, or moving extremely slow or can't figure out which way to move or if they do something they aren't supposed to in the house. If anyone goes back perhaps try to find one of the survey people and make it a point to bring the issue up and if they get enough complaints they may try to come up with a solution in the future years.
  4. Belle has definitely gotten a lot of Jane confusion. Tarzan is not a fairy tale/scarytale though. The main problem lies in the hat/hair. If they would remove the hat and keep bells original hairstyle it would be more noticeable. Janes father has worn the same hat and even her own hat is of similar nature and of course it takes place in a jungle and Belle has beast scratch marks. Belles blue dress could easily been mistaken as Alice. I just think a lot of the problems would be resolved if they removed the hat and gave her that bun updoo thing.
  5. Intellectual Property. Basically name brand stuff that Universal doesn't own themselves that they have to acquire the rights to which usually means they can't get super creative with it because it's already an established entity and the owners are strict with how it's represented. (usually).
  6. I went on an UTH tour and the guide said there were no GAT's this year. However on tour there were defiantly a lot of actor triggers that were within guest reach pretty much but they bet on you being scared away from the location of the trigger via actor. We didn't see run on tour but I would just make a hypothetical guess the trigger isn't a GAT but rather a trigger for the actor to start the chainsaw noise. If there isn't an actor there on top of the saw, there probably was meant to be. For that reason I would probably advise to stay away from touching the saw just in case.
  7. I just saw the UTH tour and the tour guide mentioned Jack in the commercial is not the Jack in the show. However said that Jack in the show is the original Jack from years past. However as stated, Actors and actresses do have backups persay in case something happens; the show must go on.
  8. I work special events throughout the year elsewhere in Florida. Not necessarily with the park but I used to work at a convention and a rave as staff. Generally most issues the source of the problem is a hydration or nutrition issue by passing proper meals and drinking lots of water over the course of the event. I used to be a big advocate about this with the event staff I worked with. I made sure everyone ate properly at least once throughout the day instead of junk food. These situations are magnets for "accidents". Especially amongst staff members who pull long exhausting nights and probably still try to balance a day job. While I can't comment on the girl in your story directly as I do not know the situation and I too hope she's fine. But overexertion or not knowing your limits for events amongst staff is a real thing. Especially when they mess up your normal routines for only a weekend, week, or in this case a month for horror nights. You need to know your limits and eat properly and stay hydrated. Also you need to know how well you can handle fog, loud noises, and strobes. I used to be on seizure patrol for raves and let me tell you, it was a terrifying duty to have and I have had to deal with them unfortunately as they do happen without fail despite warnings verbal and written. Hydration was still the biggest factor for attendees/staff falling ill during raves/working and not just the strobes. When you dance a lot in a hot crowded space, people need to remember they should get a drink of water occasionally. It's Florida, it's hot. Even though it's "fall" or it's "dark" it's still Florida attendees and employees a like need to stay hydrated. Especially attendees if alcohol is involved to balance it out with the amount of exercise you're doing walking and standing around for houses in the heat. This doesn't even touch base on sad truth that no matter what kind of haunt you have, small or large. There's always people who react when scared or startled with violence even if unintentional. TL;DR not weird at all unfortunately. Please stay safe and especially hydrated during your visits to HHN! Hmm. That sounded a lot like a PSA. Most people here are veterans and don't need to know that bit of into. While the topic of 'accidents' was fresh. It's still important Granny BA is out~
  9. Though if you really wanted to waste money, you could probably attempt to carve one out of the vinyl figures. Would probably take a few tries and a bit of knowing what you're doing to get it to work though.
  10. Personal opinion, Gringotts isn't all that stellar of a ride. It's like a watered down version of the mummy with TV screens. By itself it's just "meh". Although I still prefer it over the motion sickness enticing ride that is The Forbidden Journey. Gringotts gets undoubtably busy during the day. But what makes it busy is just the whole immersive Wizarding World experience. It's not the same without hogsmeade, and the rest of the world open. The whole thing is an experience, only keeping one part of it open doesn't really do much for anyone, especially the fans. This early on, most of the attendees are AP's and locals who have probably already ridden the ride by now and could care less by now. We'll see how it does later on when more out of towners come in. In my personal experience, price hikes & hardcore fans don't mix well..... That will likely backfire. People who never paid $50 for something will have no problem paying $100 for it. I quit going to an event because they raised the prices too much without raising the content value. It's been the same exact event for the past 2-3 years since I quit going. They bring in more and more people yearly despite no significant changes. A lot of the old timers of the event like myself quit attending. That's the reality of it all. We helped build it and left it for others to enjoy it as it is now.
  11. This guy recorded a kill window at 5:59
  12. My favorite thing in this zone is the swamp looking thing that gnarls at you. I don't know what it is but the sound it makes is so hilarious. There's so much cool props with the fog effect to take photos with but I left my camera at home and used my phone instead. It wasn't even worth the attempt. However because they don't turn out great and it's too fogged up to see, it does keep traffic flow moving. Everyone was worried about this zone with the stage but Die In had it worse.
  13. They could possibly try to start a "no photos" movement. Or at least a no stop and pose photo movement. Discourage selfies and encourage the actor to continuously move and not stop to pose for a picture. Worse comes to worse, there's always the barricade option to keep a barrier between them and guests. But then it'll be a spectator event. Those in charge of that street are really going to have their hands tied trying to figure out a solution. Hopefully it's peaceful.
  14. The photo craze is bad in all zones. It's kind of ruining the atmosphere of the streets. One of my friends was saying upon leaving the park they overheard another guest yell profanity at a clown for not taking a picture with them and then not saying they weren't going to take a picture with them. Friend overheard this and basically told them "they are not photo ops, he can't talk and you were being a huge jerk for something he can't really do much about". Apparently the guy went back to the clown to apologize. I'm scared they are going to go a "no photos" route soon because it's really becoming a hinderance to actors doing their job scaring. I've yet walk through a zone and see less than 2 scareactors posing for photos outside of evils roots.. There's so much fog in that zone that they don't turn out great anyways. The selfie obsession is real.

Wow you're b Wow you're being kind of a jerk towards people who buy express. The event IS accessible for everyone who pays to come in. They aren't saying "no you can't go into that house unless you pay $$" You get to experience the same exact things as the next person, it's just a matter of how fast you experience it. If not buying express ruins your night, you should definitely budget for it. Not everyone who pays for that is rich or elite, they just save up all year round so they can partake in it. Even just taking 5 dollars a week and putting it aside will give you enough to buy a full price non discounted ticket + express and money left over for food/merch. I've never bought express or anything and I'm fine without it. I understand it's a perk to pay for and I'm not entitled to a useful feature without shelling out a little extra money. Just like I shouldn't be entitled to a VIP tour unless I shell out extra money for it. I get to see the houses just like anyone else who comes to the park, express or not. I just have to patiently wait my turn. You can be poor as dirt living minimum wage and still have the desire to save up (or even splurge and make up for it working overtime) for express because you wanted to. Stop condescending people who choose to spend money on something to make things go a little bit faster/easier acting as if they are rich or elite because that may not be true at all. It's highly rude and distasteful towards people who try to make the most they can out of this event. I find it incredibly disparaging towards those who choose use it. If you want to call HHN a rich folk event, by all means I guess. But it's far from true. I don't know anyone who is rich that goes. They just save up or find discounts where they can. Sure there's rich people but lumping all together? Yeah no.

I love your review, and you keep it real with some of the comments about fanboys & the idea of express. You pay to get into the park and be able to experience everything. That's what you paid for at the gate, to come in. Others pay to experience things faster. It's really not discriminatory, it's a PERK anyone can get. If you don't have the money budget and maybe next year you will. It's like complaining that someone got a nice steak dinner and you got a hamburger because they paid the price difference and you did not <-- one of my biggest complaint pet peeves. I will never buy express/fastpasses I'll wait up to 30-45min or I'll skip it. But I understand them. Your house/zone reviews are nice too! Thank you for your time and awesome attitude. I would've been really upset about the guys in the tour. I also would've gone to guest relations to give the guide a nice word for trying her best with dealing with such a hard group. Sorry you had to deal with that though.
  17. I've also noticed a decline in trick or treating and other small local events. My neighborhood which is a fairly large size with plenty of kids right next door to a school barely had anyone out trick or treating the last two years. The headliner events are for some reason pulling more people in. MNSSHP is my personal favorite event (yet I'm on HNN lol) and it's already selling out so early as well. Also maybe it's just the people I hang out with now, but they don't party anymore either. There's maybe one or two parties a year.. I haven't been to a halloween themed party in a long time and does Orlando still have a club scene? I thought they've been trying to get rid of that. I guess you really just have to know where to go. Plus I've heard HHN wasn't busy on Halloween even before I started going. The bigger that rumor gets via social media blogger "tips" and whatnot, the less valid it becomes. People are always sharing tips and tricks to make visits easier, which is fine and dandy, until they get published and then everyone knows about them and then the purpose gets defeated.
  18. Probably for more diversity? I honestly prefer the 3D houses. I enjoy the trippy aspect of the houses. Sure it's not "omg I'm going to die because everything is so realistic scary". Not everything has to be pop out and make loud sounds kind of scares. But they are amusing to go through. I also wonder as I don't drink or smoke, what it's like to go into a 3D house either drunk or stoned. Maybe that's part of it? Gotta be a little drunk to fully appreciate how crazy the house is?
  19. Wow that's so cool and useful information. Would never cross my mind to touch anything in the houses. I can usually barely see anything anyways with how fast they push you through. When anyone finds out where they are I want to know so I can make it a point to go check it out!!
  20. Could the buttons have been mistaken for scaractor triggers? I've heard some scaractors have triggers they press or stand on to que lights/sound effects? Maybe they didn't know what they were? I've only been in a few houses in the past and none this year (yet) I'll admit. But... Every house I've been in. Ain't nobody got time (or eyesight) for that. Unless you mean they are in the que?
  21. It's also worth noting. Universal has a faster turnaround time compared to Disney in terms of construction. Especially if it's just gutting the building. Something that takes Disney 4-5 years to complete (opening fantasyland up in parts...), universal can do it in 1-2 years (can you imagine if they only opened a portion of Diagon and Gringotts wouldn't open until a good year or so later? no way). The rumor mill says that any future plans are constructed around HHN. I wouldn't be disappointed in going back down to 8 houses because AWIL... But I would be disappointed in going down to 7.
  22. Are they limited edition? Does the tag say anything cool or does it just say "jack mask, barcode, price"
  23. Well news suggests a King Cobra on the loose in orlando. But the likelihood of running into him if he's not yet dead somewhere is slim to none (he's been missing for a few weeks now) I don't recall any snake related scares. This isn't a phobia triggering year in the lines of snakes, spiders, yadayada, except clowns. If you're afraid of clowns, this year is not the year for you.
  24. This^ Plus.. It doesn't look like purge ate up any budget. They already had the masks/costumes/set structure built. And if the spray paint used to cover up scream costs just as much as building extra scenes for M&M in regards to budget. Then that's some fine high quality spray paint!
  25. Look, they are supposed to alternate "winner" between sets. Winner seen or missed, it's still supposed to occur. You can look at the alternating set as sort of a "draw" like in the movie. It always changes and it isn't 100% set in stone. Though... Personal opinion Freddy won, I just get that they didn't want to say one character is better than the other and to have a draw in the horror universe. But... Freddy knows Jasons weakness sooo. A lifetime of torture instead of being killed could count as a win. Again, up to the viewers interpretation. Just like the house is up to your experience walking through it.
