  1. Thanks for sharing your opinions with us! I'm real disappointed that the angels are not in The Fallen :T and I'm sorry that the Shining wasn't as good as you'd hoped it would be. Glad to hear that Dead Waters is as good as it turned out to be!

    Hive

Good news regarding this house tho; many people claim that this one is the scariest house, so it seems the production hell it went through might not have killed it after all!
  3. I've heard its pretty solid, with well-made recreations and even some GATs!
  4. The only negative buzz ive seen on any house was for blumhouse, which is really great considering this is ep night. For all but one to be universal-ly praised (so far) is pretty great to see!

    Hive

Yeah, I get it too; if it was any other house it would be a real damn shame, but i still gotta sigh at this one

    Hive

You're all going to be pretty disappointed by the facade here :T
  7. Been hearing excellent things for ash vs evil dead and AHS! For ash in particular I heard it described as fun by a few people so, I think that's something to really look forward to
  8. Those signs look really cool! I love how they keep the theme going, even if the theme is kinda eh
  9. I think the last 30 minutes alone have a lot of potential to be rooms. One thing I did really like about the movie was Wendy's descent into madness, and all the ghoulish imagery we got to see during that time.
  10. just a reminder, as if anyone here needed it
  11. When I look at week 1 reviews, I personally only look at what they say about the design of the houses themselves. To me that's what is always the most exciting about this first week, and you can also tell if the houses have potential for later when you read into this stuff from day 1
  12. Anyone else have constant dreams of HHN during the weeks leading up to the event? Tonight marks the fifth night in a row that I've had a dream about it and these dreams show no sign of stopping

Which isn't at all a bad thing, just curious

  13. Is it normal for them to not have the shirts on their merch page? I wanna be "that guy" and wear this year's house shirt to the event, simply bc it looks so great for once!
  14. I was also worried about the corn, and i even tweeted at Mike to see if it's ok (no response). Also, im glad the EP is still a go! This means i can still go through the annual routine of stalking twitter on wednesday
  15. Got hit kinda hard here in ft myers, tho it was only property damage; im doing a-ok and more importantly, will still be attending hhn this year! Im glad the opening of the event wasn't affected (at least not much) by this hurricane
  16. A tip always passed along this site is to wear sunglasses leading up to the house, then taking them off once you're inside so your eyes need less time to adjust. That or having her close her eyes and clinging to you (so she can still walk into the house) should help, if you haven't tried them already
  17. So, for me planning is key. I take this event pretty seriously, and always like to have in mind before I go what I want to do and what order I'd ideally do them in. Here's my gameplan for when I go on Saturday, September 22nd with an express pass and lovely gf in tow. Hopefully we can all share plans and help each other out in planning an awesome trip! Arrive at the parking lot around 5:15 so we can be in line around 5:30 Die in the hot sun for an hour, sometimes less bc they let people in early lots of times Dash over to Ash vs Evil Dead, not using express That should let out near the entrance to Scarecrows, so we hit that next without express That lets out near Hive so we hit that, hopefully without express After that we go to Blumhouse bc its near, we will use express bc we only care to do it once anyways. Enjoy the Invasion scarezone and hit the hhn store for the first visit, pick up anything that looks like it would sell out. I guess we would also be in the purge scarezone here too but we dont care much about that either Go to Dead Waters or The Fallen, depends on which has a lower wait. Hopefully we can save express Do whichever of the two houses we didn't just do, again hopefully without express Use express for the shining Use express for AHS if its needed, tho the middle of the night tends to be better for the first house than the beginning or end so we may be able to hold off on it Go to Saw, probably using express Enjoy the scarezones fully Eat a donut Suffer from the donut Redo any houses that we want to do again, this time with express 30 minutes before leaving, hit up the store again for whatever I didn't buy the first time. Hit one more house then leave
  18. redid my list; the house reveal really changed a lot
  19. Welcome friendo! I love your username; that's my favorite hhn joke lol Glad to have another member of the community
  20. Holy heck, that is a lot of money :0 You guys going for multiple nights to make the most of it all?
  21. Honestly, while this is my most anticipated house, I don't think I care for flying scareactors. In the past what that meant was a couple of them would jump from point a to point b held up by very visible wires :T Aside from that, however, I looove everything else about what this house could bring to the table. Awesome demonic designs and hopefully some pretty dark angel costumes. The scenery has so much potential for variation and all the areas I can think of would be breathtaking. I'm thinking a gothic cathedral, going to hell or a war-torn heavenly area. I really hope that Creative delivers on the potential of this house

    Hive

I take back my initial gripes with what we got about this house. Im really looking forward to this one!
  23. Okay damn, the Hive actually has my attention. Didn't think vamps could ever do that to me but I should've given big mean ol corporate Mike more credit! I love the looks of all the originals now and cant wait to bring my girlfriend to her first horror event (even tho it cost me over $300.. ) See you, space cowboy
  24. Well that's not quite true since there's already no 3d houses this year. While HHN might be a bit more of a corporate event than before, I don't think that means it's as stifling to the creativity as you think. I don't see any reason to believe there's less horror, and less creativity than the most recent years. Heck, I think this year's original houses are some of the more creative ones we've heard about in recent times (except the vampire one but that still leaves 3). I'd say it's too soon to say that they lost a lot of their creative edge when we haven't seen the event itself yet.
