Realistic Niki: Most likely based on the newest movie (any one who's actually seen it knows it's not actually a remake) with maybe a cameo from some elements of the originals and AoD. (They do have Ash costumes and the "She-Bitch" costume) Wishful Thinking Niki: Ash and Co. from Evil Dead and Evil Dead II for the first half, with Linda purposely looking different every time she's in the house. Second half of the house being Army of Darkness. Finale ending in S-Mart or the super secret finale if you take a wrong turn being Ash in his car with a long beard in post apocalyptic London, complete with "I'VE SLEPT TOO LONG" eprom. Or just simply an Evil Dead: The Musical house.

All I know is if the "Rains of Castamere" starts playing, 1. I'll be a happy Lannister 2. Sh*t is about to go down 3. Most of the Game of Thrones fandom present at the show may cry.

Thanks for clearing that up. The videos of the house I had seen really didn't capture much of the opening scenes, so I missed a lot of that.

The serial killers "featured" in the HOTC maze are mentioned because of their use in the movie as part of the tourist trap. Hence why they were mentioned in the house. But if I recall correctly the main focus of the house was the Firefly family and Dr. Satan (not real serial killers). There's a difference between mentioning them and featuring/focusing on them.

This is the horror reboot/origin story Hollywood needs to make.

I've got nothing for Acrostic that hasn't already been mentioned. Though for Simon, I came across this little tidbit: "Simon, pseudonymic writer of the 1977 'Simon Necronomicon', or the 'real Necronomicon'" The Necronomicon could point to either 1) Lovecraft 2) The Evil Dead franchise Either one would make me a happy Niki.

Ok I've got three guesses on this one. 1) The Silence from Doctor Who or a creature similar to it. I've noticed Doctor Who seems to be this decade's Buffy in terms of A&D borrowing or basing creatures off of. (Ex. Nightingales, Weeping Angels) 2) Possible return of Julian Browning or the Universal Palace Theater for 100 years of horror. 3) Dead Silence type house if not a continuation if Mary Shaw's curse based on the source material.

I've been wondering the same thing. Was going to post a link to the Monty Python sketch that always comes to mind when I think of how they would pull of a Christine house but my phone is being mean to me. All that aside, I find it extremely unlikely there will be a Christine house. Of all the Stephen King properties, it would make the least sense to turn into a haunt experience. Maybe as part of a "Best Of" house where you can have the car maybe stop a few feet by the guests, ala the Test Track truck scare. But a whole house of that? Too expensive an effect and repetitive. Heck, Cujo would make a more compelling house. *eye roll*

I've been wanting a True Blood house for years. Season 2 would make a great house with the Maenad and her brainwashed followers as well as the Fellowship of the Sun. Also as weird as season 5 was, the Authority's headquarters and the whole Lillith arc could make a sweet house.

Christine -> Christine Daaé -> Phantom of the Opera. Could tie in quite nicely with the speculated 100 Years of Horror. Or... Christine -> Novel by Stephen King about an evil car Dunno how that would make a house. I'd be too busy being reminded of the one Monty Python cartoon about killer cars.

Merman is a direct and memorable reference from CITW. Replacing it with a mermaid would be a disappointment to people familiar with the film. Not knocking how badass mermaids are, don't get me wrong.

I think a possible theme for this year's show could be a B&T version of the upcoming movie "This is the End". Gives them an excuse for all the random pop culture icons (not that they need one). As far as what's to be included, Harlem Shake is a given. Possibly goats screaming like humans. The song "Thrift Shop" by Macklemore is EVERYWHERE. And of course Grumpy Cat. I too am Cuban American from Miami, and being obsessed with ghost stories, I knew of La Llorona before HHNH did the first house in that "franchise". But what Christy says us true. Most Hispanics in Florida are from Central/South America or the islands. I'm certain La Llorona never made it to Cuban folklore, however if I do the research I'm sure there is some variant of the story somewhere among the Central/South American cultures. With that in mind, if they do La Llorona as it was in Hollywood, Uni will need to bring the GP up to speed on the legend, or else it may become the "I Don't Get It" house of the year.
