  1. Inside the Magic is reporting it too... http://www.insidethemagic.net/2016/08/breaking-krampus-is-coming-to-universal-orlandos-halloween-horror-nights-2016/
  2. Because... why not? These are gonna be off the wall for the most part, and more so what I'd hope for : Interstellar dreaming- Chance Zone, Hollywood Revving sun- Our chainsaws... \with a twist of some kind according to Legacy. Sun maybes me think Egyptian/Ra, but I honestly don't know. World Expo/Springfield Red Goats - Faction #1 of warring witch covens, New York Black goats- Faction #2 of warring witch covens, (San Fran or Central Park) Evolutionary Turning Point - Something ala The Spawning meets Evilution. Not fish people or dinosaurs persay, but think Animal-farm esque, with hybrids (although this litterally was just done at Knotts or somewhere, right?) (Production Central or Central Park) McDie- Leave it to Cleaver Sequel[ish] zone, (San Fran or PC)
  3. Since I've only ever been three times (19, 23, 25) I don't have a lot to go off of. If I had to pick though it'd probably be 23 for me. Just... too much Walking Dead. The streets were cool looking, and the actors did do a good job but compared to the actual scarezones that we see in other years I was just underwhelmed. Doesn't mean it was particularly bad, I still had a great time, but it just wasn't what I had come to expect. The interactive LT CFO experience was fun though, and there were three stellar houses that year (although the rest ranged from okay to meh to me... so, that's kind of a give and take.) Also was disappointing that the whole "What evil has taken root thing" didn't pan out or play in to the event... like... at all. Glad to see the opening scaremonies were present though. The only thing that disappointed me about 19 was the Cirque du Freak push. I was really hoping for a opening ceremony and we got that Q&A instead. Was also underwhelmed by the scarezone also, despite the actors doing their best. Pretty stellar houses and some good zones that year though. And I really, really enjoyed 25.
  4. I just want a bottomless margarita right now, with some top shelf... is that too much to ask for?

  5. Haha, oh Statesville Yeah. Not to beat a dead horse but I feel like HHN fans have been spoiled in a way. And I get the being upset over not always getting 100% new stuff, but as others have pointed out it's more than most haunts get to do. The heartbreaking thing is when you talk to other haunt owners about what they'd like to do and they always get this glint in there eye and a distant look before they start saying "well, I wish I could tear it down and build something new next year" and so on, but they can't. After spending thousands of dollars on animatronics and sets they just can't. I worked a haunt in Rock Island during my college years and every year the owners shared their dreams of wanting to tear it down and start from scratch... but it never happened. Money and manpower is what it came down to.
  6. Hello everyone. So, as a kind of follow up to my Jack's Maniacs series from last year, I'm making a series this year. I have some interesting things planned so please be sure to check in often. Also, any comments, suggestions, and constructive criticism is always welcomed. Episode one has now been released: Videos two and three are already planned, and production will begin soon! Also, as a kind of "supplemental" material/bonus I'm trying to so something else tacked on to this:
  7. Heh. Secondary fun fact... It's revealed in H6 that Haddonfield and Smith's Grove are located between Pontiac and Dwight, IL (thus Livingston County.) Thing is, in the original Halloween Dr. Howard tells Loomis that Haddonfield is 150 miles away from Smith's Grove. Not possible. The distance between Pontiac and Dwight (which are real locations) is only 20 miles. The only reason I know this, is I'm from this area Anyway, I'm glad announcements will start gearing up again and if it is with a Halloween [2] announcement I'll be very pleased. The original H2 is the very first horror film I ever saw.
  8. I can't say I'm thrilled at it's return, but I'm curious... with this being a "greatest hits/scenes" house, who else thinks that it's just essentially going to be the same as the TWD attraction at USH but on a smaller scale?
  9. What is interesting about this image, to me, is that it looks like she's wearing a straight jacket... not her typical costume.
  10. *Looks at AWiL, and TWD* Yeah, I don't think spacing out similarly themed houses is a major concern for them
  11. Yeah, that's def a blurred H2 cover. They also tweeted/FB posted a blurred image of AHS: Freak Show as well.
  12. There was a crooked man, and he walked a crooked mile...

  13. Hello everyone. A few years ago I began a project as my senior thesis in college that I continued working on. The essay itself has finally been published and I wanted to share it here with you all: We’re All Guignol: A Look at the Past, Present, and Future of Horror as a Theatrical Art Form Halloween Horror Nights is featured heavily. I had a great interview with Murdy several years ago for this project, and also write about my own experiences in/with Orlando. Comments/thoughts/ideas are always welcome. There wasn't a super in depth peer review process for this, so I'm always open to analysis. I'm currently working on a semi-follow up piece right now on the differences in acting style between haunts and "staged" horror theatre.
  14. Can't believe what's going on. My thoughts are with everyone in Orlando right now.

  15. Man, I actually experienced it quite a bit in 2009. I went opening weekend though, and one of those nights was, as you said, an 'apocalyptic rainstorm.' It was awesome. We went through WolfMan AND Frankenstein basically alone. If was awesome, but damn those actors fucked with us hard core (no complaints though!)
  16. Fantastic news. Even though the CoC TCM looked great, and I actually like the remake, I'm so happy they're going with the original on this one. Curious if it's going to be used for marketing the new Leatherface film that's supposed to come out this year or not...
  17. As much as I like having 9 houses, I think 8 is better. It's just less stress on the designers/A&D and also as you said 9 is a lot in one night. I do think it'd be interesting if they kept the 9th house for anniversary years as kind of an "added perk" but that's just my opinion. I mean, obviously whatever they do- be it 8 or 9 I'd be fine with. While anything is possible I'd think the only way they'd go back to 7 is either a.) major budget cut or b.)last minute emergency (like realllllly last minute, beyond SCREAM last minute.)
  18. Good thing that you saved your money. It not only received horrible reviews, but it was literally the worst scareacting experience I have ever had in my ten years of being a haunt actor (not really RZ's fault as it is the main staff of the event.) Seriously, after the first weekend 40% of actors quit, and every weekend after that there were fewer and fewer. I was really surprised it came back this past Halloween, and from what I heard (I did not work this year) it wasn't any better. But, regarding the theorized lineup The givens, to me, are Krampus and Purge. Just because... I mean, Krampus is fucking awesome and Purge has a new film coming out this year. Although, I'd personally rather see Purge as a street again I think. The rest of them, as others have said, wouldn't really be surprising as those are titles/IPs that are always thrown around. I guess I'd be a little surprised if AHS finally got its house because it was my understanding that it's never been done before because FX/A&D would want to go all out and not hold anything back and make it not necessarily an "extreme house" but one that would require a waiver or an age limit or something. Idk, I thought I remembered someone saying something like that at one point last year... I could be mistaken. It could obviously be altered to just be a typical haunt though and it wouldn't surprise me. AHS needs some life/interest breathed back into it- it's popularity has been waning the past two seasons. A house could respark interest. If TWD returns, again, I'll be sad but not surprised.
  19. I mean, I can tell you from experience that it defiantly does not go over well. The House of 1000 Corpses maze that is a part of Rob Zombie's Great American Nightmare received huge backlash the year I worked it because of these vary reasons. It also didn't help that the Villa Park venue which housed the event is only a hop skip and a jump away from where the Gacy killings happened.
