  1. This zone still has the same dystopian feel it seems to always have now, year after year. Even though they now have a non-dystopian theme this year, it still feels the same. And I just may not have been paying enough attention, but are they doing projected kills on the buildings as advertised? I do like the burning gazebo.
  2. Very true. Funny how that worked out. Having the barricades there was definitely a good move for traffic flow.
  3. Lake and Osceola County schools are off Monday the 26th, so there's likely going to be a large crowd that night.
  4. I was so anticipating the return of the pumpkins and ended up being the less than thrilled to see last year's Bayou lanterns mixed in. That really took away from the look of past experiences I was hoping to relive again. And I'm not a fan of the music in any of the zones. I know some are. But it's not creating that ambient feeling they used to have.

    HHN 25 Report

Wow! Never seen a review invoke such a range of emotions. I think the responses are just a testament to just how passionate of fans we are to the event. If we're posting on here (HNN) it's because we want to share our experiences (both positive and negative) and also hear other's perspectives. That in turn opens discussion. JDW - I know you've been attending HHN since the beginning and that's why I always enjoy hearing your take and perspective. You, Legacy and Doc have seen what the event started as, what it was, what it's become and can see where it's heading. I know you were getting disenfranchised during the burned speculation period and wanted to step back. At the time, I mentioned that I understood and hoped you'd take a breather and then come back...and you did. I'm hoping you can do that again. My take lately is that the event is expensive and last year was my first express year after 10 without. Did it again this year. Mainly it's because I hate lines, in general, anywhere. I do think the Fla resident FFP w/express is a great deal, but it is expensive to me. Even budgeting it. And I'm not an AP holder so I'm also hit up for parking every night I go and then for any F&B. It adds up. So with that, yes, I'll always have high expectations for the event. But I mainly go just to have fun. It's a great escape to know during the week on multiple nights I can head over for a bit and unwind after work. I've tried to temper my expectations. Having done a FFP for going on 6-7 years now, I also think I've become desensitized to the event some and I try to stay open minded as a result. It's easy to see what I used to like no longer being done and get pissed about it. And I hate saying "it is what it is," but that pretty much sums it up. But I also won't stop expecting bigger and better. And I worry that up-charge houses will be the next wave. HHN is and has been in a Bull Market right now, but everything's cyclical and a Bear awaits in the not too distant future. To close, I don't think anything in the review here was aimed at anyone, it was just a review. If people need to take some time away from the board, please do, but only if that will cement your future return.
  6. Are you done for the season or will you be back before it ends?
  7. LOL, I do. That wasn't even the one I meant to post. I need to get Flickr up and running as that maxed out the file size on here.
  8. It's funny we all have the same reaction. Not definitive but we're sure what we saw had to be it.
  9. I saw him in there last night posing for pictures.
  10. It's nothing like last year. Much smaller. Weak sets. Terrible façade. I know the this past season of TWD didn't have many memorable scenes so that didn't help them much to begin with. Used prop gags from last year that were underwhelming to start with and have yet to be functional this year. They took what I saw as last year's house's best scene and put it in this year's but ruined it. IMO, if you go in with zero expectations, you might be fine. To each his own. I can say from my runs this past weekend compared to last night, I had a much better go last night. I'm one of those that rarely get scared or jumpy but they got me twice last night. Kudos to them.
  11. Not sure where they're doing Stay & Scream this year but I was there at gates open last night at 6pm and literally walked right on M&M and then Body Collectors after that. AWIL and FvJ were 30 and 35 minutes. Left at 9pm and FvJ had the longest posted time at 75 minutes. Though I didn't go on Asylum, it looked like there was literally no line at all. Like King K said, great weather and crowds. So much better than the weekend.
  12. Wasn't the music near the end based on the Wolves resetting the walker trap in the tractor trailers? They played that music to lure them to the sound? Anyway, did a run through last night. Main line was an hour. That upsets me because if it has a consistent long wait throughout the season, they'll use that as an excuse to bring it back again. As terrible as this house is though, I actually had a couple good scares in it last night. Go figure.
  13. I did one go through last night. Same on the GATs. I saw some buttons and such around Ole Smokey, but they did nada when pressed. They were the only obvious ones I saw in the entire house. Not sure which cast we had, but it was definitely a better go through than we had on the weekends.
  14. So last night I specifically made sure to look in that exact cell. It did appear to be there. But if you didn't know what you were looking for, it'd be extremely easy to overlook and not have the slightest inkling what you were seeing besides a cell and strange items and people. Even after deliberately standing there looking in for a few seconds, it's tough to say. But I'm sure that was it.

    Insidious

Went through last night. They're still having flow problems. But damn, this house is amazing. Scares everywhere. Beautiful sets. It's at the top of my list.
  16. I definitely wasn't saying those nights weren't crowded, I've just always viewed peak nights vs. non peak nights based on what they charge. I do love that the event ends on Nov. 1 this year but more so it being a Sunday. I doubt they'll open FFPs for the Fri and Sat as they just don't need to anymore. And daylight savings ends so it'll be that much darker at the start on 11/1. Good way to end the run.
  17. Exactly my thoughts, too funny. We're going over for just a little while tonight and had planned on skipping this. But now I'm curious to see if it's in there.
  18. Looking at the official website now, it's still showing 10/31 in the highest priced ticket category. So I'd say that's still considered a peak night. In any event, based on just this past weekend, I'm sure every night will feel like a peak night.
  19. So they're now calling Thursdays and Sundays peak nights? Such chaos this year.
  20. Is it really? I thought all their peak nights were 2am. Shows you what I know.
  21. Initially, I would agree with what Clash said - actually I do agree on that maybe part. But it's really tough to gauge at this point. Opening weekend was much more crowded than I've seen it in years. The last time Halloween night fell on a Saturday I ended up going and it was pretty busy. But if you plan on being their the entire night, where it closes at 2am, you'll catch smaller lines near the start and end of the night.
