  1. These are all reasons why I found the post amusing. Thought it would be something you guys would shake your head and laugh at. I was slightly off on that one.

    Another part I found laughable:

[quot]Another thing to keep in mind is that after the successful American Werewolf in London in 2013 followed by the incredible Halloween house in 2014, I've got a feeling that the HHN staff may be ready to bring another classic to life in grand scale once again... but the question is, which one?
I'd love to see one based on the new Krampus film, but as that movie wont even hit theaters until the end of 2015, we may have to wait another year. and finally, I've got one that may be a long shot... lets talk about "31". This is Rob Zombie's latest project, and it hasn't been shot yet, but if it moves ahead fast enough, the theme sounds like something that would warm Jack's cold heart. The plot is said to be about a group of 5 people kidnapped and rushed away to a place called Murder World just before Halloween, where they have to play a deadly game... survive in Murder World for 12 hours while being stalked by an gang of murderous Clown themed characters. Talk about a great theme for an HHN maze...

  2. OK... What's funny there? The spec? A lot of wishful thinking but nothing too outlandish.

AHS is a very real possibility this year... and, if it happens, the word is it won't be watered down... so... 2+2=?

Other than that, some of the spec is premature. I don't know if I believe that TWD won't be back. I also don't think the Purge would be a house. Krampus may indeed make an appearance. 31 is probably not happening.

    I certainly found this funny:

What is most likely not to happen? I could be wrong here, but I'm thinking we may see The Walking Dead take a break this year. After tapping that vein so many years in a row, I think they give it an epic send off last year and I just can't see it coming back again this year, no matter how popular the show still is. They would be better off avoiding it entirely this year, and maybe looking into the new spin-off show for subject matter in 2016 instead if they want to go back to that world once again

  3. My concern with a Hitchcock house is recognition. Psycho and The Birds are his most aggressive films, but today's audience generally won't recogize the "violent" scenes from his most popular films. Rear Window (camera flashes), Strangers on a Train (carousel), Rebecca (house fire), Vertigo (bell tower), North by Northwest (Mt Rushmore), Lifeboat (storm), and Dial M for Murder (scissors) would likely be the films selected (with Psycho and The Birds), but even with those it's a lot of shoving and falling.

The house may entertaining, but accessible? I highly doubt it.

If the house is well made and delivers the scares, it will be accessible. In 2013, I heard people saying AWiL was the best house and they had never seen the movie.

  4. Happy to hear we might be getting a Dark Christmas house. If we only get 3-4 originals again, I hope this is one.

As for the IP's...not very exciting. Walking Dead is overrated (I find myself still hate watching it though), American Horror Story is disjointed, and The Purge is a poorly made franchise which isn't all that scary. The only thing I'm holding out hope for is a quality Hitchcock house, although I'm worried about continuity between rooms.

  5. I'd like to play along on the "Streets as Houses, Houses as Scarezone" concept...

    Houses:

    Acid Assault

Bayou of Blood (focuses on Voodoo Priestess sacrifices)

    Treaks and Foons

    Asylum in Wonderland

    The Path of the Wicked

    Boogeyman (inspired by Singapore)

    Dark Christmas (inspired by Hollywood)

    Night Prey

    7

    Scarezone:

    Demon Catina

    Gothic

    Hellgate Prison

    PsychoScareapy

    Scary Tales

These are based on praise for the original content and concepts I found most intriguing.

  6. when they do walking dead again, my biggest hope would be that they just do one regular house in the parade building and one zone in the kid's zone area. And that's it.

I wish they would stop with the gimmicks. I know people loved the mega house and everything but I think it should go back to that building and stay in that area. And I would hope it's just a regular house and not another mega house.

seeing zombies for so long starts to get boring after a while. It would be cool to see a walker zone outside the queue but I hope that's all they do

The Walking Dead is best left as a scare zone. Nothing more.

  7. OK here's some cool shit that happened during my last two runs on Saturday night:

Going through during the day was pretty cool since I had no one in front of me and my group received every scare. Ambiance of the dark was missing, but the timing was spectacular. Also had a chance to take in all the details. Everything about this house was so well done.

Later that night, I went in during the last 10 minutes. I watched the light show for the final time, which left me alone for half the house. During the scene where Michael stabs the guy to the wall, I encountered a PERFECT strobe effect. After he stabbed the wall, the lights went off, then strobed back on and Myers was IN MY FACE WITH THE KNIFE. Holy shit the knife wasn't but an inch to my eyeballs.

Going back to being alone for half the house...I really wanted to be alone the entire run. However, the reason I caught the line was because the Michael Myers that pops out through the "sheet ghost" actually GRABBED A GIRL AND TOOK HER BACK WITH HIM! I'm sure he knew her--or she worked at Universal--but it was awesome! Her friend wasn't in on it, because she was standing alone in the corridor with her hands to her mouth saying "What do I do?" Anyways, really cool seeing some closing night surprises on my last time through my favorite HHN house.

  8. Wait. I'm confused. What happened that night? Someone said something about another house and an app? So confused o.O

Legendary Truth released an APP called T.E.S.T. It was used the last four nights. You had to collect 6 directives by walking through houses/zones. Each was assigned to one of the legions. Afterward, you had to collect 6 of the legion touchstones, which were hidden throughout the park. The map was in Sting Alley and contained a the coded locations for each spot. Completing both tasks allowed you to obtain a Master Seal, which was your access to the secret house.

I personally did not experience the house since the communication failed after obtaining the Master Seal. I had heard they gave out spots around 9:15, but they did it early at 8:40 on the last night.

  9. Well after participating tonight, I have a few things to say.

First off, this was a lot of fun. The app gives you the backstory to the maze/scare zone before entering.

Second, some blue tooth spots flat out sucked. I should have had this done in 45 minutes, but took almost 2 hours due to the locations.

Last, after obtaining my Masters Seal well before 8 PM, I never received further instructions. I even went to the front of the park around 9:05 to see if I could spot others, and saw nothing. We noticed a few people sitting outside the headquarters in NY around 10, but decided to give up.

So, really cool concept with the App; has lots of bugs; and ultimately led to nothing.

  10. If you ever see a cast change its hilarious! Huge preditor masks sticking out of a cloke. I dont known why but they look so much smaller out of the house, not sayng the house is bad ot anything just a funny cast change.

I saw the group on break behind the fences while waiting for TWD. Watching a Predator drink Gatorade was hilarious! Also watched a cast change happen for Hallowee. I was looking at a Michael Myers mask inside the cloak and the actor threw it off, cocked his head to the side, and got right in my face. Awesome.
