  1. Area 51, or something along the lines of something horrific that involves the military... like scientific experimentation gone awry producing various types of monsters or things?
  2. They sort of mention him, and they have the Universal Palace model video from last year's site. "And in 2009, Universal's Frankenstein, Dracula and Wolfman were Ripped from the Silver Screen as the Usher greeted each guest."
  3. I personally don't think so, the site reminds me of the off-season Behind the Screams site they usually have. Most of the imagery and video are from that old section, too. So it's like a digital museum of the past, it's no real indication that the parade will make a return. Although, I find it strange that they fail to mention Bloody Mary on the Iconic Era section of the Legacy. It seems to skip '08 almost altogether by only mentioning the characters they made for that year, plus the usage of the multimedia heavy site.
  4. Well this is just perfect for my trip, and ensures I will be able to do HHN for every night while I'm there. So cool... can't wait for the FFP+ pass pricing to come up!
  5. Looking at the construction in the Disaster queue... it could be a garage, it could even possibly be a living room that the vehicle could have crashed through. There looks like enough room for a scareactor to be placed at that possible closed door to dash out and reset, with guests walking around the side of vehicle that we see in the photos is where guests are. So it might be the ending of the maze, or just a scene without the connecting hall built yet. So.. could it be a zombie house, or something involving a clinic as the scene we currently see? Sorry for any possible interruption, but I quess this is a more appropriate area to post this thought....
  6. That's true as well. During the usage of the New Line Cinema characters, they were used two years in a row with nothing new to add to it. It wa just a cut version of Carnival of Carnage, with Jack taken away. Last year was showing a step in the right direction with new scarezones, but there was also an obnoxious number of chainsaws present in the scarezones as well. If there's one thing that Hollywood can copy from Orlando, it's the usage of the CDT. I don't think I've ever seen an actor almost break character in a show until last year during B&T, though. It was during the Twilight Bella & Edward scene, the girl playing Bella almost broke out into laughter during her lines... it was a little, odd to see. The Orlando cast seemed a lot more into their roles, and the show flowed more naturally.
  7. Well if the Little Sisters were Cindy clones, then I would see the central monsters of each of the Islands of Fear/Horror being their Big Daddies, it would add some variety to them and reflect the styles of Daddies (Rosie, Bouncer, Alpha, and Big Sister if you want to consider her one) a little closer. They were her playthings originally, right? Well, why not have these playthings actually be her protectors? I see the Chainsaw Drill Team as the waves of Splicers that appear when a Little Sister is extracting ADAM for you after adoption. Perhaps each of the playable characters can have their own particular storyline, too, that correlates with their particular year. Survivor characters being park guests that have survived the initial onslaught, and agreeing to assist the icon over the course of the story if allowed to live and changes the story depending on actions taken... such as, they will help in supporting you (like a HHN fanatic) in coming battles against other icons, or puzzles?
  8. Hollywood is severely limited to the amount of mazes that are present in the event, although one thing it does have over Orlando is the Terror Tram which lets you walk on the porch of the Bates Motel, past (or sometimes in) the small street of Whoville, past the Psycho house, and through the War of the Worlds set with scareactors set in. There's not a lot they have shown us, and typically there are zombies, clowns, and killers in respective sets. As Black7Mask mentioned USH has about three mazes, although there's supposed to be one more maze this year. It does not seem to me like USH's are longer though, I think USO had longer mazes. I liked Orlando a lot more. So I'd say go there. Besides, Orlando has original content as the majority of their mazes... Hollywood is all movie based.
  9. Well the Greek house idea was originated from the leaked permit with scene names. One had the Greek Gorgon "Medusa" as one scene and "Army of Hades" as another. It does not have to be a video game like God of War. Like it's been mentioned, perhaps they're either code names of particular scenes or the maze itself showcases the monsters of Greek myth. That in itself can work out.
  10. Well, that's why I plan to go as much as humanly possible on the days I'll be there. It will be later in the month, and I'll be anticipating larger crowd, so with Thursday-Sunday as the open days I can spread out my time and instead just try to enjoy my time without feeling rushed. Now if only the FFP and UTH (if there is one) can finally appear on the site, then I'll be set. It does get super busy nearing the final weekends, right? Last year I was only there early in the event, and it wasn't terrible crowd-wise. No matter what way the event goes for this year, I'm sure I'll enjoy myself and further feed my need to come back again and again. After all, if there are reunion themes it will be perfect for me and get me more acquainted to the icons. Sure, you guys say you don't want a rehash year.. that's understandable on your sides, you've gone to it for a long while and have already seen possibly anything A&D can throw at you, but what about the people who haven't had the chance yet? The 20th anniversary can be half rehash to refresh and introduce us to what you're so used to, and the other half (or a higher percentage) can be new content to keep things fresh. Museum corridor.. I forgot it's scene number in that permit from earlier. But.. even if there is only one icon house, it can possibly be this, with all the past icons within this maze with individual scenes illustrating some fragments of their past. Like a museum's exhibits that have a frozen in time sort of diorama setup, this could be done in a similar way to the Wax Museum sort of mazes that have been featured in the past, giving the icons one final shot before becoming such figures. I mean, there have been mannequin set ups of most of the icons in the past right? Use that sort of angle in the museum corridor, to lead into the first scare themes. Sort of like how in 2009, The Spawning's first scene was in the office of the pump treatment facility, Silver Screams had the hallway with the Usher, Saw had Jigsaw's workshop, etc. Build up before unleashing what it has. It could be a good transition or introduction. Can't wait!
  11. can't sleep and has a long work weekend ahead! >_<

  12. I know Knott's Scary Farm over here in California had a Grudge house for a few years before Quarantine, it looked okay from the video I've seen of it. Quarantine was okay, too.. although when I went through that one, the zombies were pretty low energy and one of the props wasn't working properly. But, I liked it all in all. Pumpkinhead would be nice, although a little hard to pull off for the creature itself, and I don't think it's a Universal property... although Sci-Fi/SyFy did show the third and fourth films from time to time and its quality seemed to reek Sci-Fi Original Movie. But I'd also like Jeepers Creepers... ...I just like monster movies.
  13. Well I guess it's safe to say that I'll be booking my hotel + flight first, and then purchasing a FFP (if even for use on 2 or 3 days) later on since it isn't available on the site yet. Or I can just wait until Friday before booking anything. Hope they have the UTH tour again this year..
  14. That's the 'Nightmare' character from the Islands of Fear year. Although it looks like the Djinn from Wishmaster a little bit in that angle. Darkness was first in the movie 'Legend', I don't think they'd change the character's design when it already has a familiar look. But the choice of photographs is a little interesting though. Nightmare, the Pumpkin Scarecrows from 'Harvest of the Souls' and 'Fractured Tales' scarezones, Eelmouth (I think that was his name) the host of the Terra Queen sacrificial show, and finally the front door of the Caine home with Cindy's portrait showing through. I'm just happy the site finally updated and pricing on tickets and packages are finally available, makes my planning a lot easier now.
  15. BP is the company that owned those oil rigs, I think.. haven't been following the spill news coverage much, only on my breaks. How would it revolve around the oil spill though?
  16. They should, and hopefully the scarezones will be larger than they were last year with highlights of who their character is or what they had provided to the event in the previous years, coupled with an icon's maze for the scarezone.
  17. Yes, true.. well I was just clarifying that little issue of Eddie being a movie fan.
  18. His original name was Eddie Sawyer, not Eddie Schmidt. If you read the article you'd know he was a movie fan that turned to horror films being his only solace in a horrible life.
  19. <quote=username></quote>, I'm assuming. The Usher is already dead, he was accidently hung behind the movie screen when he was trying to get his beloved flashlight. Unless it would show that again, then he couldn't be killed by the Director. And I'd rather have the Director actually have a maze that fits him better, All Nite Die-In is just sort of... not fitting for him, IMO. I see him in a maze where he's actually making his snuff films with captured people (possibly inserted actors to be pulled into the darkness in prior scenes). The Usher's more about showing off his favorite horror-related Hollywood movies. Cindy's father, a "Paul Bearer" (haha, get it?) essentially became Albert Caine with the unfortunate change of character so in a way Paul never went anywhere. I think that SINdy was more or less a prototype of an icon code name like Director, Caretaker, Storyteller, Bloody Mary, The Usher anyway.
  20. I agree. But.. I was reading some articles on the Vault, and what could work for Jack's maze including Eddie is to go back to the character's discarded roots and original ideas for him. Would it possibly work for a Carnival of Carnage maze, and having Eddie basically invading the carnival and slaughtering its characters through the second half leading up to him closing in on Jack and finally killing him off?
  21. Wasn't RUN supposed to be like a game that Eddie and Jack had owned together? If they use that sort of concept rather than be a 'watcher' sort of house (like SAW and Reflections of Fear had been) and make it more like you're the one that's the center of attention, like in standard houses, it could possibly work. Besides, spectator mazes just aren't as effective as the others it just doesn't seem as scary. Now if RUN could be a maze like that, Eddie could have his chance at a maze. But... I also see him more like a scarezone type of character, he'd be given more freedom for his chainsaw action then.
  22. I chose Cindy. To me, it can be either like the idea previously stated, that the past icons can be her dolls or that they are or always were a figment of her distorted, psychotic imagination or memories of types of people she encountered in her life before her death. And why not, they are usually referred to as their titles and not commonly their names aside from Jack, of course, based off of a handful of people that made an impact but their names had not meant much. It could have been that they became imprinted in her subconscious, and all of these years had been an act of a devilish, overactive, childish imagination that became imprinted on a spiritual level upon her death. I don't know, it's late and I think I'm just rambling for the most part. How it would tie in as an event as a whole... I dunno, probably the whole doll idea and the mazes are her dollhouses or scenarios she makes up while she plays with them. I still stand by the idea of having Cindy as the icon, it would be interesting to see it played out..
  23. Might be a little late for this, but.. I didn't take as much as I probably should have, as the camera I used was sort of a poor choice anyway..so I got very slim pickings from the ones I took, most came out blurry due to lack of flash used. I guess reading the postings from the Vault sort of scared me away from using it, as well as not wanting to blind anyone with it. Gotta learn from my mistakes I guess, either that or try to work on getting an better one to replace the one I just replaced the one that took these. And some blurry-but-kinda-okay ones... Better luck next time.
  24. Well, yes.. I was referring to taking photos outside of the mazes. I'd only go as far as taking a picture of the facade, if possible (decided against taking one of the Silver Screams one since it was inside the building) and I only took photos of the mazes visited in the Unmasking the Horror tour, minus Wolfman of course. But thanks though, I'll keep that in mind for this year. By the way, what exactly was the eyeless girl with the large mouth in Horrorwood from, anyway? I got the majority of the characters in that scarezone, but she remains a mystery to me...
  25. So then with a good number of scareactors on the board, I ask this in the sake of respect for you all and your job: when is it appropriate to use flash in a picture of a scareactor? When you're not facing the camera or even have some angle toward it? It was bothering me when I went, so much that when I did take a forward shot of a scareactor anywhere I took it without flash with most of those photos ending up unusable or just pretty crummy in the end, although some of it worked out in a fuzzy way. Thoughts?
