  1. I just completed a project on the religion Voodoo. I think it would be really cool to have a house based on the black magic/dark side of voodoo, known as Petro. There you'll find human sacrifices, hexes, and all sorts of really interesting things. I think it would make a really cool house, but it could be seen as offensive to the practitioners. But, just a wishful thought.
  2. That makes me really happy. I wonder exactly what it will be. I hope they start hyping the games in the summer like how they did for 2008. That would be the bees knees. I'm with everyone on how I hope they make it scary again and keep the primary original influence. But that seems to be a unanimous thought and I'm just reiterating myself and others.
  3. I like the new layout. Good job, guys!

      Glad you like it!

  4. That album sounds like it will kick some serious ass! And I'd love for Midnight Syndicate to return to the event as well, and also the website. ----- As far as an overarching theme that I would enjoy would be traditional-Halloween based. There's a myriad of things that could be done, much of which I have mentioned so I'll spare the specific details. Now because these are my ideas and my own theme, I'd of course have 8 houses. Now to me, 2 IPs are perfectly fine in an 8 house event, but no more. There's plenty of IPs that could fit the traditional theme, my personal favorite would be the Halloween franchise. I know Hollywood did this a couple years ago; I'm not sure how well it went or if it translated well, but Michael Myers is my favorite killer and the Halloween movies are my favorite horror movie franchise, so I'd love it...if done well obviously.
  5. Oh, it's quite alright. I'm dead on the inside.

  6. Yeah, I don't see them using it for more than 30 seconds at a time. I think the Harlem Shake will be one of the jokes that will occur every now and then in the show, like the Katniss' "I volunteer," joke which was said several times during the show, or the Madmen "You're fired," joke. I don't think every time it will happen it will be 30 seconds long, but just a few seconds to get some laughs out of people. The comedy of familiarity.
  7. I was watching something that gave me a bit of wishful thinking. As a fan of traditional Halloween, it'd be cool to see a Coven based house. It doesn't have to be adapted exactly from the scarezone, but something along the lines or that general idea would be neat if done right.
  8. They say it will never die. But love can hide if you think love can hide.

  9. I always (and others as well) had an inkling that Nightingales would return. I feel that would be a great franchise house and I'd like to see what would be next for them. Because other people mentioned artist they'd like to see work with HHN, one in particular comes to mind. I think it would be really cool to see something from Jhonen Vasquez. His art style is dark and so are his stories/shows. He created Invader Zim, which was a kids show, but was extremely dark. One episode involved the main character, an alien named Zim, searching for ways to look more human in an attempt to blend in with his classmates. His consensus was to eat and swallow the organs of children at his school (because aliens didn't have human organs in this show). At the end of the episode he becomes so bloated with the organs of children at the school (or Skool - yeah that's actually how they spelled it ), that while speaking to someone, an intestine falls out his mouth and he quickly slurps it back up and acts as if nothing happens. Classic Nickelodeon is where it's at. Also, the show got canceled because in the final episode (which I don't think aired - I could be wrong on this), he actually killed his greatest foe (who was of course a child - they were all at Elementary level I believe). Now I'm not saying an Invader Zim house, but another Vasquez story that is wonderful is Johnny the Homicidal Maniac. With a title like that, need I say more? This would translate well in my opinion.

  11. Y'all don't know what it's like to be male, middle class, and white.

  12. This is going to my creepy stash of fox gifs/pictures.
  13. I already said this, but I'll say it again - he's my favorite author. I'd die. I'd die sooooo good!!!
  14. It seems like most people here are acquainted with Bradbury's work, and so you know how dark his novels/short stories can be. I would love to see any of his macabre writings turned into houses (I would fan-girl so bad). Something Wicked This Way Comes would be wonderful, the Halloween Tree would as well, and some stories from The October Country could translate well into houses. Just talking about this makes me so excited. I guess my Bradbury is Mystique's Goones.
  15. On a random side note, I thought of something kind of funny and interesting today. Well, you know how we aren't sure of whether HHN will begin on the 20th or 27th of September? Now, HHN starts in the autumn, right? But depending on weather you follow astronomy or meteorology to determine the seasons, this may not be the case. You see the meteorological fall starts September 1st. Okay. But astronomical fall has varying dates, which has to do with when the Earth's tilt begins to point the northern hemisphere away from the sun. I personally consider autumn's beginning at the start of the autumn equinox (astronomical fall), and most people do as well. The autumn equinox this year will be the 22nd of September. So, if HHN starts on the 20th, that means it will begin during the summer. It also means that last year's HHN began on the last day of summer (because the autumn equinox was the 22nd last year as well). Does this matter? Of course not. I'm just bored and that occupied my mind for a couple minutes; thought I'd share my frivolous thoughts...though I'm not sure why. But hey, I find it interesting, haha.
  16. I don't remember the pig (but of course I was not there in 2008), but from what I have seen from pictures, I don't recall it. And you're welcome! They seem like pretty solid sites; I hope they help!
  17. Bradbury is my favorite author. If we get Something Wicked This Way Comes...I might die of happiness. I...I....can't even.....
  18. I did not get these surveys by email. It started with me going to the Universal website and getting randomly selected to take a survey for the website. After that was complete it asked if I wanted to do more surveys (it had a list of them). I saw the HHN survey and clicked it and voila!
  19. I didn't do the pricing survey, though I probably should. And yes, the HHN 22 survey was VERYYYYYY LONG! JW and I agreed that we both spent about 3 hours completing it! It was worth it though, and I'm part of the Universal's survey panel or whatever it's called because I think they're fun. So it was worth it to me and I had fun doing it. I as well worked in some criticism but fan-girled over Unearthed and a couple other things. I also mentioned for HHN to push the fright and intensity as far they are allowed to; push the envelope and be more balls-y again. Though I worded it more eloquently then that, haha. And the new teaser site is interesting. I kind of like it, but it reminds me a bit of 22....and we all don't want another site like 22s...... *shudders*
  20. I just spent 3 hours doing a very detailed survery on HHN 22/23.

Yay! Glad I'm not the only one, haha. And hey if you're on Universal's calendar, you have until April 20th to make that cake. :P

  21. Wolves are cool too. And it's funny because the tiger mask was given to me as a gift, but my friend got it from a Halloween store...so they should be around somewhere. Ebay is usually not a bad place to find them (if you're not shaky about using Ebay that is). Amazon also has a few of them for really cheap prices, but their selection isn't very large. I know you're trying to find them, so I hope this helps you out! Well, I checked the tiger mask my friend got for me and there is a sticker on the back that has the name of the company that made it (or distributed it), but that doesn't matter. Anyways, the company is called Forum Novelties Inc. They have a website and I'll link you their selection of animal based masks/costumes. They have a pretty good selection, but I'm not sure what the pricing is because you need to create an account to see the prices and more info on the items. But, they do have the bunny mask! They also have other cool ones that weren't used (like the pig and wolf). Linkage: http://www.forumnovelties.com/search.asp Here's another website that I'm using in search of more masks. This also has the bunny mask and others. Pretty good prices as well, but I didn't check shipping. http://www.costumecraze.com/Costume-Accessories-Masks-Animal-Masks.html#tab=products& And I feel like I might have seen that store you mentioned...but I'm not entirely sure.... That pumpkin mask is really cool! It kind of reminds me of the one from Halloween III: Season of the Witch.
