  1. I would love to see them next year...I never got the chance to meet them and they're huge insparations to me. I'd be up to have them doing a sequel house or just to preform some magic or do Bullshit live. Damn...the main thing that gives me "the feels" about HHN 22 are the Traditionals, but I have the feels for Penn and Teller now. I took this house for granted unfortunately. :/ I wonder what the likeliness of them coming back is... They have been brought up quite a bit in the pre-HHN 23 speculation.
  2. That gladdens my heart endlessly...and it makes sense because Teller was the one who did haunts as a kid, so I feel like this house was his child.
  3. Would anyone be up for Penn & Teller: Bullshit live at HHN?
  4. Okay - I do understand that the music for the hordes was a bit clunky, but obviously that didn't kill it for me. I love my legions/Horror Unearthed dearly, and I still stand my ground. But, in hindsight, yes music could have been better. Speaking of the debate between hordes/scare zones, it seems you either love them or you hate them...but I really do think that hordes are an idea they shouldn't throw away just yet - to me it succedded, and many others agree/disagree, and to those that disagree, I think if they take in the complaints (music, fog, lighting, ect), have better props, I really feel like it's an idea that will succeed to most everyone. Give it the benefit of the doubt, it's still in its infancy, which means it can still grow and become better. And they have a year to work with it and improve it. Another thing that would be delightful would be the queue videos, and yes the arch video. And if Penn and Teller were at HHN, I think I would die from happiness...I can't even........ I think we will all agree on this, HHN in general needs BETTER ADVERTISING/COMMERCIALS AGAIN! The best HHN ads in my opinion were the ones from HHN 12 to HHN 17 (the one from 18 is debatable). Things fell flat at HHN 19, 20 was eh, and 21 was laughable. 22 did redeem things a bit, but there still wasn't much creativity or over-arching terror to it. HHN 14's ad was damn classic and a perfect example of what an HHN ad should be like. The ones from 12 to 17 were creative and creepy and not to mention fun! Let's bring that back and scare the children staying up late watching TV. Last thing, I also (like all of you) want a better website. My personal favorite HHN website was HHN 16. The way it started out with the music, the respective icons and their slogans - it was eerie, creepy, disconcerting, and just a fine piece of online goodness! Also, it was DARK. I remember going to that site back in 2006 (I was young then), it would spook me out - but I would come back for more because I loved it so much. But just from going to that website it made the event feel really damn dark and scary; it was very effective. I want to go to 23's website and have my first initial thought be: we're in some deep shit. And not only that, but a better website will really help the newcomers and their first impressions of the event. Also a bloody website as well. And of course the interactivity aside from the games (like the drawers from HHN 16's site). So mainly, more over-arching terror to the site and the event itself.
  5. I am in Hawaii right now...

  6. Well this was a lovely surprise to find the HHN 23 thread open! Well....what are my wishful thoughts....? 1.) I sincerely hope the legions return, but if not, then just the hordes (which I now prefer over scarezones). Or the foxes...yes....lots of foxes..... (and Tiger Astronaut of course)! :PP But, I do hope they will have more set pieces. A thought I heard going out was a mix of both scarezones and hordes...sounds fine to me. That way everyone has the potential to be happy. 2.) More gore! HHN hasn't had something excessively bloody in awhile. I want something like the Body Collectors, flat out nasty and disgusting! I want spines being ripped out and hearts being thrown from every direction! I want satan to ascend from the bowls of hell...and well I'm getting carried away here, haha. But, you see my point. I just really hope there is a really nasty/gore hound house this year, but of course it will still have to have a good story as well. 3.) Speaking of stories, it would be nice to see more in-depth backstories again on the houses. 4.) A continuation of the Iniquitus story line would also be really neat. We know who created the legions (or who unearthed them that is), but we don't know who/what created the Iniquitus. Shall we find out? I hope so!
  7. "We go dragging threads...."

  8. "I can't feel your bones, but I can see them."

  9. Every time I think of the Traditionals: "The feels! The feels!!!"

  10. Yeah the show sounds really interesting, I never heard of it either. Oh and Kathy, I didn't know the fandom was around in 2001, but did you ever see The Art of Scare? It's a documentary about HHN from 2002. Anyways, they had interviewed a super fan who had a vast collection of shirts and merchandise and even said he constantly checked the web for info, leaks and things like that. It is really awesome how it has been around that long, but my biggest question is: is that super fan still around? Haha. I just find that interesting.
  11. I have an interesting treat today! This is a really old Internet speculation thread I found that discusses HHN 11. The thread is entitled: Eddie Out/Jack In. I found this awhile ago, but never shared it 'cause I never knew where to put it on here - there was no thread I felt it fit with. But, after talking with Sean (Voorhees) at the HHN hootenanny last night, he said post it in the HHN 11 category, and so that's what I am doing. This is really interesting to read because it shows what we do know, but to a lesser extent. The community has grown so much, and it's cool to look back on this old clinky-dink website. I also can't help but ask the question - I wonder if these people who are in this thread are still around today, still obsessed/super fans? It's interesting to think about. Well, here's the site! http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=103905

  13. I'm sad. But, then I think that Tiger Astronaut is somewhere out there - chasing galaxies and unseen planets.

  14. Everyone - check out the community calendar! There is a scareactor and fan meet up at Old Town. All the info is there with a link to the FB page! Hope to see you all there! :)

  15. Happy birthday to Joey James. Lulz.

  16. The HHN Wikipedia page....Is another troll in the midst?

  17. No, there is a scare-actor and fan party on December the 8th...dubbed as a Hootenany! "Rosie" will be there, so that's what Justin (Justman1020) meant when he said he could give it to her then. If you're interested...I think I'm going to see if it can be put on the site calendar.
  18. "Would you like some water?" "No, I'd like some dihydrogen monoxide."

  19. "So c'mon..." -DCFC

  20. As mentioned in the post above, here are the presents that were given to me by Mandy and Rosie! Thanks so much girls! :3 Mandy's Gift: This card was written in crayon! That just goes to show how in tune Mandy was with her character (playing a child). I love this so much and will cherish it forever, Mandy! I can't thank you enough, and my heart is warmed to know you enjoyed the candy enough to go to this length for me. Thank you so much! :3 Rosie's Gift: We all know Rosie is greedy with the candy, so the fact that she gave me candy (which she made), just shows how beautiful this present is! Thank you so much Rosie. The fact that you did give me candy and not eat it for yourself means the world to me. I know I told you this, but I will never eat this, it's too special.
  21. Here is the last bit of footage I have of the Traditionals. Luckily, it's 11 minutes long...so it's a nice way to go out, haha. Watching this video will require some background information, so you can understand what exactly was going on. *Note, the video was filmed in the deepest and darkest depths of Central Park (so, far away from light), therefore you more so listen to this video, apposed to watching it. It's an audio experience, so I hope you don't mind. Background Info: Okay, well this was filmed on Halloween night, which would be the last night I would see everyone (scareactors and friends) at HHN 22. A friend of mine was told by Rosie the Fox Girl to tell me to meet her at Central Park around 9:30 or 10:30, I can't remember exactly. He also said she had something for me...I felt very strange and didn't know what to think of the situation. Regardless, I met her up at Central Park at the designated time. She took me (and the friends I was with) in to the deepest and darkest depth of Central Park at Universal. When we got there, other Traditionals were standing around, it was absolutely crazy. But essentially, Rosie and Mandy (Ballerina Kitty) gave me some presents! Yep! This is seriously one of the coolest things that has ever happened to me. The presents they gave me were so amazing and sweet. I'll post the pictures of them for you. Other Traditionals started to cry, so it was almost like a little mini goodbye, before the night was really over. Also, other scareactors were there (like a pumpkin head was there, but you just never saw him). So, a lot of other scareactors show up in this video as well (just some of them you can't see). I hope you enjoy! The Video: Memorable Quotes from Rosie: 1.) I'm gonna give you a present, and then murder you in the dead of night. 2.) It's a fun game of Russian Roulette. 3.) I have a present for you too. - Me You do? Is it dead babies? - Rosie 4.) And I heard that you like Sour Patch Kids. - Me I do because they taste like babies, but they're not quite as succulent. -Rosie 5.)They're the closest you can get...to babies...of course. 6.) Some people in this club.... 7.) Someone's calling your name Sam. -Kevin (My friend) What, who is? - Me Ignore them! I'm the most - LOOK AT ME! I'm the most important. -Rosie 8.) Talking to one of the cats: Are you gonna cry? -Rosie No, I'm not going to cry. -Mandy (I'm pretty sure this was Mandy) If you're going to cry, I'm going to push you down that hill. -Rosie No, I'm not going to cry. *starts crying* - Mandy Stop crying, cry baby! - Rosie 9.) I'm trying to have a tender moment. 10.) Candy is still candy crushed. 11.) Don't make me cry again. 12.) Ha ha. 13.) Brandon will kiss it and make it better. 14.) I'm the prettiest and the smartest. 15.) All of it. All of it! 16.) Am I not special enough for you. *crys* 17.) I'm not special to you. *crys* You don't like me. *crys* I'm not special. *crys* I just tried - *babble, *babble* *crys* You don't like me. *crys* 18.) Sing the song!! - Everyone 19.) Is the song not special enough to you? *crys* 20.) It was beau- They gave me a whole song, what did you get me? 21.) Is that what I mean to you, Taylor? I killed Santa Claus for you! 22.) Do you hear the sass coming out of his mouth? 23.) But, they're not as pretty or as smart as me. 24.) Did you bring me candy, 'cause he's stingy. 25.) It'd be a shame if your glasses had to fall off again. 26.) Why would you do that!?
  22. I miss Courtney. :'( By the end of the event, she would just come up to me and pet my arm, no joke haha. I always knew it was her because of this. It was really cool and I miss the fun we used to have with all the others. Courtney, you are greatly missed. I hope you enjoyed all the candy. I'm also sorry I wasn't able to put all my candy in your infamous pouch on Halloween night, hehe. That must have been soooo heavy, I remember you laughing about how heavy it was. She also said this was her 5th year scare-acting! I hope to see you next year for your 6th! It would warm my heart ever so endlessly.
