  1. It was proposed/planned... and the creators/voice talent was all for it... HOWEVER.... Universal said "no" because they didnt want to do a ride layover/conversion right away, they wanted to wait for the hype/popularity to die down... which of course happened within 2-3 months of the ride being open. go figure... With all the money being dumped into that area of the park for a Simpsons expansion, I have to wonder if UNI has contemplated doing the Treehouse of Horror ride conversion. I know there were also (scrapped) plans to convert the ride to 3D, which is the last thing we need in the park.
  2. Like I've said many times before... last year's shitastic website was a product of Marketing. It was not done by Ray & company. Hence the lack of.... everything. The games & other fun interactive stuff (like Horror Unearthed for example), was done by Ray and A&D... So unless Marketing is forced to take a step back, expect another shitty website. However, with the two Legendary Truth teasers we've gotten since HHN ended last year, there is a chance we could actually be getting the fun interactivity that everyone is wanting... But remember... everyone has been wishing for a better website the past 3 years... and instead of getting something spectacular, the website has gotten worse each year... 2010- crap, 2011- crap, 2012- crap. Despite the shitty websites, A&D has thankfully made up for Marketing's failures with 2011's "Backroom" & last year's "HU".. Don't get your hopes up for a website that resembles 2004-2009, just have faith that A&D (and Ray) will be able to provide us with extras on the side.
  3. So i'm totally digging Hollywood's current spec for their 3rd Alice Cooper house... and i'd be all for it to be at Orlando's event too. They're currently thinking "Alice (Cooper) In Wonderland"... and we've already seen what Orlando is capable of as far as AIW goes due to all 3 of the Scary Tales houses (2001, 2002, 2008) having an AIW scene (Chainsaw Alice, Alice playing with the White Rabbit's intestines, etc)... and of course the Asylum In Wonderland scarezone in 2008... Could you imagine that trippy scarezone from 2008 being merged with Alice Cooper?
  4. ^don't worry... it will happen eventually... A&D have one in the works...
  5. ^yea... and if they start HHN on Sept 27th, they would most likely be ending it on Nov 2nd, which would only give us 24 nights... It would be stupid of them to decrease the number of nights rather than increase... If I remember correctly, our very own TJ229ER was one of the Samhein's in The Hallow finale... and there was also a Samhein in the Fractured Tales scarezone as well...
  6. It seems Jeramy's first guess was correct afterall... HOS recently announced their event dates for this year, and HOS begins Sept 27th this year... so unless HHN starts the weekend before, it seems this year's event will actually start on the 27th as well.... meaning we've got 257 days until HHN 23... instead of 250
  7. Welcome back... to Jurassic Park!

      Soooo pumped! Can't wait...

  8. You're wanting original characters, but then say you want a house featuring the Traditionals? That sort've backtracks. Besides, as I previously stated once already, 2010's "The Orfanage" was a house based around the Traditionals. There was even an eprom (scareactor activated device that triggers effect/audio) that said "TRICK OR TREAT!"...
  9. Keep in mind... LT and the HHN website are two completely different departments. LT is an A&D created thing, last year's craptastic website (outside of Horror Unearthed) was done by marketing. Thats what people seem to forget, anything interactive & "fun" (HHN 15, 2007's Carnirama, 2008's LT, 2011's Backroom, 2012's HU) is an A&D thing for us fans... if it wasn't for them, we'd be stuck with lackluster websites for all eternity... eternity... eternity... Basically... you just have to hope that this LT update means that marketing & whatnot are being forced to step back a bit in order for A&D to do what they do best.
  10. To make it even worse... the house was supposed to be the signature house for that year... (god knows why, since it didn't fit into the realm of Terra Cruentus).. but they expected the house to be extremely popular, so they built it twice. An exact duplicate inside the soundstage divided by a black curtain. So yes, they could've had 8 houses that year instead of 7... but the duplicate of WEH was mainly built for peak night crowds. I can't even fully remember what all was in the house, mostly because it was so bad that I've tried to block it from my memory lol. (same with Cold Blind Terror... which was literally nothing by black walls with zero sets, one room with random bubble suds, possibly a black/white checkerboard style room, and a few "floating spectral ghosts" on harnesses above..).
  11. Boogeyman was a great movie, its two direct-to-dvd sequels... not so much (only watched the 2nd, have yet to poison myself with the 3rd). The movie had a great premise & actually showed you something to be scared of (unlike Darkness Falls... aka- tooth fairy movie.. which might be what you're thinking of). But yes.. I totally agree.. we need a Boogeyman house.. 2005's WEH was... randomly awful.. facade was a semi-rundown house, corridor of half-open doors (with an appearance from Michael Myers), bedroom (with a Big Bad Wolf scareactor), squared staircase (yes this was an actual 2-story house located) with a bungee vampire in the middle, attic with vampires, storyteller, and an old dude, downstairs into the basement (cant remember what was there), chased out of the garage by a redneck fat guy weilding a chainsaw...
  12. 2002's Fear Factor house (rats, snakes, roaches, fish, etc) 2002's Project Evilution (genetic experimentation with dino DNA, resulting in half human, half dinos) 2008's Bloody Mary (aka- Dr Mary Agana- deals with phobias & fears, resulting in patient deaths)
  13. We'll never have another "Field of Screams" like 2004... the closest we got to that was 2006's "Harvest of the Souls"... and the Wizard of Oz scene in 2008's "Scary Tales: Once Upon A Nightmare"... Remove the "era", the vortex, & the Orphanage aspect... and you're more or less left with 2005's "Where Evil Hides" house... which had a random cameo from The Storyteller in the attic (don't ask). This house was a complete failure and was nothing like the concept it was supposed to be. Ironically, the queue video clips shown while in line where from the 2005 film "Boogeyman"... The Traditionals were put into a house.... 2010's "The Orfanage".
  14. illusionists aren't really a bad thing... however, the pre-IOA events probably had the better illusionists... Then again, those events also had more entertainment in general. As far as REPO! The Genetic Opera goes... I love the movie, however, there is one little thing that all of you are forgetting... Universal basically ripped-off the concept for their very shitty & awful non-musical movie "Repo Men" (which was a complete box-office bomb). While UNI's movie was a failure, I highly doubt Lionsgate would let them buy the copyrights in order to do a tribute show. It's possible, but it'd probably end up being expensive... assuming Universal would even be able to acquire it. For those of you that have never seen 2008's REPO!... here is the trailer. If you've never seen the movie, you need to... (REPO BLURAY PARTY AT MY HOUSE)... It would make for a great tribute show at HHN and would definitely add in the adult & gore factor a lot of you want.
  15. Just because a house is inside a soundstage, doesn't mean its always going to have a more impressive facade or set design. But it also comes down to budget as well.. 2005's Cold Blind Terror comes to mind (no real facade, no sets) & 2006's Die-In: Take 2 also comes to mind (crap facade, nice sets). As for the tents, Havoc wasn't the only tent house to have a great facade... 2006's PsychoPath & 2008's The Hollow... perfect examples and i'd even include a few others just because they included props to enhance the house entrance.. Of course a SS house is going to be darker, its inside a concrete building with no windows, and no doors, offering you this chilling challenge- "to find a way out!" (okay so maybe not that last part). Temperature wise, SS22 is always cold.. and I didn't notice a temp difference (aka- it being "cold") with 2011's Nightingale's which shared the SS with The THING. As for The THING houses, those were two completely separate concepts based on 2 different movies. One of them being an original concept set in Florida (taking place after the original movie) and the other based on the 2011 prequel set in Antarctica. Unfortunately, a lot of the details the 2007 house had were lost due to lack of lighting. The images Mike Aiello showed us in 2010's VIP Lounge during "The THING" Q&A, well it was mind blowing to see what the house had offered but went unseen. Fun Fact: there was supposed to be a THING house besed on the original movie, sharing the SS with Screamhouse in 2002. But we've seen over the past 7 years Tent houses rival the quality of SS houses. Personally, I don't see the reason to completely fap over a SS house vs a Tent, they're both enclosed buildings. The only thing a SS house can truly provide is height/bungee effects because amazing facades can be done outside of a SS house. 2011's Saws-n-Steam was in the JAWS queue and it was just as good as a soundstage, hell it had a freakin waterfall. 1998's Frightanic is one of the most infamous houses of HHN and that was done in the Disaster queue (complete with a ship facade). I wouldn't say SS houses are better, they just have the potential to be...
  16. ^which is exactly why I don't want to see a TWD 2.0 house this year (well that, and the house was awful). Or a house based on AMC's new upcoming "Bates Motel" series (especially when UNI can do a Psycho house without the need for AMC)..
  17. Bite. Your. Blasphemous. Tongue. HHN started in the studios and it belongs in the studios. Also, you thought the park was hell last year, just imagine what it would be like having those crowds shoved into IOA. Good luck trying to do anything. Also, HHN at IOA isn't really that exciting, its actually much more difficult, especially in the street department. Unlike the studios, the islands are heavily themed and they can't detheme said islands in order to retheme them for HHN due to that taking away from the daytime park experience (especially for people going to the park for the first time). My first year was at IOA, that was 2005... it was great, but the crowds the event gets now.. it'd be hell. You'd have to do a 2-park event if IOA was going to be included in the picture. However... the problem many of you forget is that its only going to result in more dead space, more walking, and most likely, budget cutting. Point is... the studios is and always will be the best place for HHN. Plus the only construction that will be going on this year will be Potter 2.0, so unless something new pops-up, we'll have better crowd flow.
  18. Unknown at this time. In 2008, LT was focused on Mary Agana (Bloody Mary) and was associated with that years event overall. In 2010, LT was a failed attempt due to doing it via FB (worst. idea. ever.), as for the 2010 LT house itself... that was more for the 2008 LT fans to squee over. It really didn't serve much of a purpose (unless you count the return of the "floor scare" which hadn't been used since 1991). What it really comes down to is the backstory A&D come up with... If they have an idea that ties into this year's event that requires a house, then sure. Otherwise, don't count on it. 2008's LT was more about backstory expansion and giving us fans something to do while at the event. A&D has a lot of ideas... it just depends on what they can get approved. An LT house isn't necessary though, especially if it doesn't serve any purpose for the actual LT investigation itself.
  19. DISNEY TODAY!... DHS & Epcot.. "maybe" AK.

  20. Speak for yourself. sheesh. You realize that they can "bring something stronger" to the event WITHOUT affecting B&T?.. I think some of you seem to forget that aspect. There are like 4 other show locations that can be used. (hell if they shoved SS22's queue line somewhere else, the Rockit Stage would also be another location... go figure). Again... B&T isn't a "if they can't do good shows, then try something else" problem. Its a writer/director problem. (also a legal department/higher up issue).. So making a show "take a break" isn't suddenly going to provide HHN with "OMGZ AMAZEBALLS" content. If a show wasn't good this year, you get someone new to do it next year, and continue to do so until you have someone who knows what they're doing... Like I said, you can add all the new content you want to... but most of you will end up bitching about how mediocre/shitty it is and how they should've just done B&T Show #22, #23, etc etc..
  21. ^BLASPHEMY!.. again, like i said.. this year's plot was from the mind of Jason Horne. A new writer/director of the show. Considering the backlash the show got (thank you weak script & of course the Fox News asshats having a tantrum over the Obama/Romney rap battles), I don't see him returning for 2013's show. Unlike previous final shows, Jason did NOT give a little speech afterwards thanking the fans, cast, etc.. Instead, after the "be excellent to each other, and party on dudes" part.. the cast gave hugs, took some pics, and that was it. But to shelve the show for a few years because someone didnt write/direct a show full of orgasmic awesomeness, would be kinda stupid.
  22. Oh good... i've been itching for a good way to blow off steam (especially after the 1 Year Anniversary of the loss of The JAWS Ride).... B&T doesn't get worse and worse every year. This year the show was done by someone new (Jason Horne), last year it was done by Patrick Brailard, before that it was Mike Aiello, before him Kenny Babel, etc etc.... If you want to complain about the show sucking, blame the one who wrote & directed it. Want someone else to bitch at? Then bitch at the higher-ups/legal department who say "we cant do that. that cant happen". But DON'T blame shitty movies, tv or music on the show not being as good as previous years. The casts every year work their asses off to make the best of what they're given. This year was no different. Our show might not have been up to par this year, but that was due to the writer/director. Had we done a similar show as Hollywood, 90% of you would be fapping about how it was "the best show since ____".. And yes, B&T 3 will actually help the show out because it will make the two characters "relevant" again. Which apparently is the issue for anyone under the age of 21... for the record, Bogus Journey was the better movie (for those who are unaware, that'd be B&T 2). Even with this year's show not being as good, the rule of the B&T show is to see it multiple times, no matter how much you might think it sucks... just like what they tell young/closeted gays- "Don't worry, it gets better". Guess what, it DOES get better. This is due to improv from the cast or noticing little things here/there you didnt before. B&T doesn't need change... nor does it need to be removed from the event. It'd be like Knott's suddenly getting rid of "The Hanging" after all these years.. Good luck trying to find a worthy replacement that can be easily adapted year after year (let alone actually be NEW), provide lulz & an arsenal of qoutes for a year. Besides... instead of worrying about the quality of B&T, i'd be more focused on whining about the sheer lack of entertainment Universal doesn't bother providing for their annual event. There is no excuse for HHN not having a show in all 3 theaters, something in the street like Death Drums (use the dummer float from HOP if you have to), something on the Kidzone stage (small freak show?), and of course the lagoon. I'd even say shove something inside HMU & T2 if needed. The fact that HHN is going on its 23rd year and they only have 1 guaranteed show... well its ridiculous.
  23. Well if you know me so well... what number am i thinking of.. right. now???

  24. ONLY 36 DAYS UNTIL MARDI GRAS! ONLY 259 DAYS UNTIL HHN 23!!!

  25. For those of you who weren't around for LT 2008, here is the official T.C.E. Scale so you can be more familiar with what exactly a "Level 1" actually is...
