  1. ONLY 26 days until the event begins (less for employee preview)..... and the original houses & blumhouse of horrors STILL has not been announced yet.
  2. Hey @Gambit... Any chance you could create some wallpaper love for Hollywood as well? I'm sure others would appreciate it too. I think there is promo images available somewhere (as well as the "view background image on each maze page of the website). PLEASE & THANK YOU! Desktop wallpapers, but also Facebook cover photos would be great too! I know we don't have a fancy border like Orlando, so no need to worry about getting too fancy for ours.
  3. Marty... you're not thinking 4th dimensionally... think bigger, better... and ripping off Disney/POTC... Instead of buildings... imagine an archway of mists/fog that you had to pass through & the skull would be projected onto that. It could even have menacing threats that beckon you to venture deeper within...
  4. Excuse me... what is the sound in the video?... I haven't heard such a sound in a very long time... we don't have sounds like that over here in California. Its more exciting than some lights going off & on. I must know what that amazing background noise is!
  5. Usually when dealing with someone else's IP, they kinda do have to care about an IP's canon... but since Purge is their own... well, they SHOULD care a little more. Besides as I said... (as someone who LOVES the films... 2nd/3rd), having a SZ this year for it is just extremely lazy.
  6. In regards to "The Purge" SZ... It made sense for Orlando NOT to have it due to the 3rd movie itself (Election Year)... As i've mentioned before, in order for the senator to win the election, she had to get FL's vote (which she did, won & did away with The Purge). It was a very powerful storyline, especially due to the Pulse incident. Now at the end of the film, you hear a short news blip about rogue Purgers... since we had the Purge in Hollywood last year, it was amusing to think that WE were those rogue purgers mentioned at the end of the film. It makes no sense to have a Purge SZ this year for Orlando... and just comes across as lazy. Instead of wasting NY for this, they could've created something else instead. If The Purge wanted to be used in any capacity for Orlando, it should've been in the Blumhouse of Horrors ONLY. Hollywood gave The Purge the proper send off last year, until the next movie comes out next year.
  7. That will never happen in Orlando... which reminds me, curious to see what our go-go dancer costumes look like this year in Hollywood. My guess is "sexy/naughty witch" or something.
  8. You've missed my posts, they're few & far between due to work... Even posted a 4-Part review of last year's HHN Hollywood event.
  9. ^he's not wrong... while I'm sure some of these SZs will be "decent", it does come across as lazy... Altars of Horror - They claim they've never done this before, except they have... in 2005 Purge - Gee.. way to stick to the plot of the movie with FL being the winning vote to elect the senator so should could do away with The Purge Trick-R-Treat - Oh hi 2008... they even used the term "inspired by" which is different from "based on". Instead of the Skoolhouse & bus, they have "front doors". Invasion - Oh look something that is actually NOT a rehash of a previous year Festival of the Deadliest - Even they don't seem to know what is going on in Hollywood Blvd... womp womp Roaming Clowns - Um... hi -insert year here- that also had chinsaw wielding clowns. Dear Orlando... after you drop a bomb like the ending of B&T, you should've just done a full site reveal to try & distract the masses. Good luck next year, you're going to need it.
  10. I can't help but think... gee, if only they had this SZ when Disaster was still open because that tank being attack by the tentacle would've made a nice scenic piece to incorporate. Hell, imagine a B-Movie house in the Disaster queue that would dump you into this SZ... -sigh- With all of those crazy "Disaster Studios" props that used to fill the queue, they could've made a B-Movie house that incorporated the props. "Soundstage of Terror" or something.
  11. There have been a lot of non-universal IP characters in those SZs other than Freddy & Jason. So no matter how they want to spin it, there is nothing "new" with this type of SZ.
  12. Its a nod to their former parade most likely. Also, they probably don't want to call it "Festival of the Dead" straight up otherwise people might expect something along the lines of "Día de los Muertos" (people are dumb). It might sound a little cheesy, but its not the worst name they could've given it. And gee... 2 pieces of concept art.... in a 17 second video... because it was too difficult to just, oh i don't know... release said concept art itself like in years past?
  13. So many years?... um... Die-In scarezones in 2009 & 2015... And lets not forget 2001's Nightmare Alley... Also... this description is a complete joke too. "Something they've never done before?" Um... WRONG!!!! 2005... "Terra Guard Run". That was the entrance SZ for that year & it featured monsters from EVERY part of Terra Cruentus.
  14. I'm having deja vu... oh right... HHN 2008's "The Skoolhouse", which was ALSO "inspired by". If they're going to name-drop Sam & actually use him... then they shouldn't use the term "inspired by". But yea... while I love this SZ theme, it really comes across as lazy for Orlando.
  15. Does Universal Orlando know it isn't April 1st?...

  16. Well... they DID use to film the show in the soundstages at the park, but no... wrong setting. Although it would be fun to see a Legends of the Hidden Temple-esque house, one could argue that would be closer to last year's "Tomb of the Ancients" house (even though that was more egyptian & less aztec/mayan).
  17. Back from the dead... kinda.. a little zombie-ish..

  18. Employee Preview & FFP+ (with express)... also November 2nd (even though that should probably be classified as part of the FFP)
  19. just give me my long over-due LT shirt and i'll be happy.... I'll take a Morphan shirt, but thats not a priority Hopefully when the stuff does become available, they'll actually provide a direct link to it via the actual HHN website. Although that's probably being too logical & asking for too much.
  20. Yes the LT & Legion merchandise will be available online via the Universal online store.. as to when, it is unkown, but they did say June...' here is the video regarding the exclusive merchandise...
  21. ^Freddy, Jason, Michael Myers, Leatherface, Pinhead/Cenobytes etc... as Legacy said... all used a few times, just never "officially"... 2001's Nightmare Alley, All Night Die-In 1 & 2, etc... hell Michael Myers made a random appearance in the corridor of doors in 2005's Where Evil Hides... many other haunts use the familiar characters, but like UNI... change the name or look. Freddy & Jason were even in the first B&T show back in 1992... although Jason had a chainsaw instead of a machete
  22. ^yea but from what i've noticed the past few years that they're getting better about it. 2009 was really when the event changed for the better. While they do repeat things, i've noticed they're also getting better with presenting it in a different way. Their prison house was turned into a zombie house in 2011. 2011's Vampire Casino house was done as a "lights out" house for 2012. So they do seem to be making an effort. HHN on the other hand... well, marketing & higher-ups are what is preventing HHN from evolving into what it should be by now.
  23. ^it wasn't always like that... Orlando had no problem repeating the same house 1-2 years (or more) in a row back in the early 90s. Some of them only had a few changes to make it "different"... Also Screamhouse: Revisited was infact a repeat in 2003 up until a certain point. Legacy could tell you where that was. But yea.. it was still more or less the same house as 2002.
  24. oh trust me... i do know. Its a large ride addition for the park. Thats something they'll capitalize on, even though its not exactly high-capacity (compared to JAWS). This isn't like Rockit back in 2009 & 2010... The only reason Transformers would be closed is due to technical issues, however considering the event is 4 1/2 months away & the ride is the same system as Spiderman, i'd sure hope they had their technical glitches worked out by then.
  25. why wouldn't their newest ride be open? Its basically the JAWS ride replacement as far as whats open goes. Come on, they had Despicable Me open last year during HHN, which was the newest ride. Transformers will be open and the line will rival TWD's (or other houses for that matter)...
