  1. I wonder if we'll come out his ass (inflatable walls) like we did for Jack's Funhouse in 2007....
  2. No & No. The house will be located in a Sprung Tent. We're not getting an exact copy of Hollywood's house, Orlando has it's own art & design team to create it. We're not getting "Goes To Hell 3D", that is only in Hollywood. We have "Alice Cooper's Welcome To My Nightmare"
  3. except there is one problem with that logic.... Orlando isn't "following in Hollywood's footsteps"... Orlando has always had movies featured in some way at the event since the first year. And its actually cheaper for them to have the same property at both events rather than have it exclusive. But this whole notion that Orlando was built upon originality is ridiculous.. The Orlando event attracts plenty of guests, with or without a movie being featured as its main selling point. Yes 2007 & 2009 were big draws for crowds, but it doesn't mean any of the other 19 years had "less" guest attendance.
  4. Actually 2007 did have one official fully themed scarezone in central park- "Troupe Macabre". Then they had the chainsaws outside of Disaster. Carousel horse motorcycles in Hollywood. Mask-less treaks/foons in Shrek Alley, a few carnies (one of which was in a bumper car) in NY... However they were supposed to have more than this... they had originally planned a Freddy sz for Shrek Alley & Leatherface to lead the CDT among other things here/there (including a photo-op with the big 3), BUT NewLineCinema had all sorts of restrictions on the event which caused A&D to go through all sorts of red tape. The restrictions/red tape didnt just apply to the streets either.. but that is a different convo for another time. In regards to this year.. don't expect roaming hordes as in roaming everywhere... before there were scarezones like we're used to seeing, all that was on the streets were scarezones with little to no set design & a shit load of fog. Since they can't really heavily theme the streets that are along the parade route... expect to have fog & scareactors... But now for the non-parade areas like "central park" or "San Francisco" (Disaster), those SHOULD have actual themed scarezones. And so far, the only scareactors that may or may not roam around the park are zombie hordes. But we have 7 codename colors, which is 7 areas of the park. So the streets should be fine this year, even if they aren't "heavily themed"...
  5. I have a problem with this whole "worthy" crap people keep throwing around in regards to Orlando's event. The event is not all high & mighty just because there has been 9 more events for Orlando than Hollywood, doesn't make it superior. And to say the event doesn't need to rely on certain "gimmicks", i'd have to disagree because the event will never evolve into something more if it doesn't branch out in different directions. These so-called gimmicks will only help fuel and challenge A&D's creativity (that is until corporate comes in and budget cuts everything like usual). Um... if it wasn't for HHN Hollywood (and Knotts for that matter), we wouldn't have an event. And to say "we're turning into hollywood" just because we have IP houses is amusing considering how many houses over the years were based on IPs (including when Hollywood's event was on hiatus) at the event before. HHN 1992 had "People Under The Stairs" & HHN 1993 had "Psycho"/"People Under The Stairs"... thats 2 IP houses during its first three years. Even the faces of HHN's first year "Fright Nights" were Universal Classic Monsters... an IP... yes.. because a video on youtube allows you to fully experience a house...
  6. Jack's Funhouse had more going for it than Reflections of Failure... not to mention it actually had a "mirror scare". Despite RoF being geared towards fans, it was poorly executed. It was the same house duplicated- half 1958 & the other half 2008 in reverse order.
  7. The house will be in the parade building.. they've made the space & people have been cast there
  8. In regards to the houses being "the same" at both events... John Murdy (HHN Hollywood) addressed it on Twitter:
  9. I just want the scent of cotton candy... and then have it sold near the house "Come get your Alice Cooper Cotton Candy... He went to Hell to get it!"
  10. So we all know that the creative departments for Hollywood & Orlando are different... But with the IP sharing this year, I had to wonder if any of the same research aspects were done when designing the house... For example... While researching the maze, Hollywood's John Murdy googled "motivational art", "animal hoarding", "doomed Franklin expedition", "Florence Nightingale", "Vargas Girl", "Las Vegas Buffet", and "Liposuction". Could our A&D team have done the same research or shared ideas between each other?.. Then of course there is THIS aspect of Hollywood's house -One scene will feature the scent of cotton candy. Will our house also feature the scent of cotton candy?
  11. 2005's Demon Cantina.... direct rip-off of From Dusk Til Dawn... so much so the facade resembled the bar exterior & to make it even better, they were actually showing footage from the movie while you waited in the queue. All the house was missing was topless vampires. However it was still a decent house. as for something spec related... regarding the scene names, "Vortex room" is code for "spinning tunnel". Not even sure what type of scene "Wrong Side of the Bed" could be code for. Although one thought comes to mind being similar to Glen's (Johnny Depp) bedroom in 2007's NOES house where it was sideways & you passed through the bed itself
  12. AWIL was in SS22, where SH is located.
  13. No, its not a "thats true for the past" type of thing. The orlando event still has their own creative & design team... Just because something is shared doesn't mean it will be the exact same experience, set up, layout etc. This whole IP sharing thing isn't new for the event, they did it in 2007 & 2009. It is cheaper for them to use the IPs at both events rather than make it exclusive to just one. Other than it being the same house theme, the two events are completely different... (except for the recently censored Silent Hill cleavage that Hollywood has been slapped with... yay PG-rated nurses)
  14. well the thing you gotta keep in mind about Hollywood vs Orlando is that when it comes to houses, they won't be the same design, set-up, layout etc... despite being based on the same property. The house properties that have been shared over the years have been drastically different at both events.
  15. It will be located in a Sprung Tent. But it being 3D doesn't automatically mean it is a lesser house and is always put there. The Soundstages are for the Victorian Haunted Mansion-esque house (SS20b), gargoyle house (SS20a), & Silent Hill (SS22). Don't pre-judge the sprung tents as being a lesser location because there have been soundstages that were less impressive than one of the previous tent houses. Locations for houses depend on what they intend to do, but Alice Cooper Goes To Hell will work just fine with its Sprung Tent location.
  16. Why does something automatically have to be scary in order for it to be a house at HHN? That is very 1-dimensional thinking. Why is a show more appropriate than a house? How is it "bit too far"? This whole theory & notion of "ohhh that won't be scary. how can that be scary? thats not horror, thats stupid" way of thinking really needs to stop. Do you realize how many people said "a greek mythology house isn't horror" or "fairy tales aren't horror, wizard of oz isn't horror, cruise ships aren't horror" etc etc.... Here's a little inside tip for you... Not everything is required to be scary. And not everything will be scary to everyone that attends the event. While one house or scarezone may scare the living shit out of one person, the next person might find it boring. Its the same for a horror movie, some will think its scary others won't. But to say something won't be good just because you personally don't think it should be a house, doesn't mean that its true. Especially when you haven't experienced it to begin with nor do you know how exactly it will be executed. Some of the most "oh my god, that house is going to be awesome" houses end up being the worst ones. Do you realize how many people pissed & moaned about an Alice Cooper house in Hollywood & said that it would "suck" & that it was "stupid" for it to be a house... then what happened? The Alice Cooper house was the #1 rated house at HHN Hollywood last year. The point is... stop being afraid of something "new". Expand your horizons and open your mind to a new experience because if you continue to define HHN a certain way, you're going to be continually disappointed.
  17. There is no house switching at the last minute... except for the 7th house. Unless you expect to see a house on the dirt pile with the giant crane that was once SS44... The only house that was "switched at the last minute" was the one now inside the Parade Building.
  18. Glitter Gulch is in reference to Vegas... as in the place they do their show, full of illusions etc... other dimensions is in reference to 3D... there really isn't a big mystery here... no need to alert Mystery Inc.
  19. There has only been ONE Alice Cooper house in Hollywood & it was last year. It was also the #1 rated house at their event. Real scares? opposed to fake ones? And what exactly defines "worthy" for HHN Orlando? I didn't realize the Orlando event was on such a high pedestal...
  20. I know, that was exactly what movie I was thinking of, but didn't want to say it... since its supposed to be "original" and I didn't want to jump start the whole "LT" house comparison. although Poltergeist is one of the recurring rumors on the Hollywood side of the event.... and that one scene would match with "Wrong Side of the Bed"
  21. Okay one thing that bugs me about the musical house location game... SS20b (American Werewolf in London) had 2 scenes revealed "vortex" & "Wrong Side of the Bed", which actually fit into that house... but now we have the 19th Century Victorian Haunted Mansion in this location instead of SS20a. So if this if the house locations were not entirely correct, I'm having a hard time envisioning the 19th century house having a "spinning tunnel". The whole SS house locations have become a little confusing now. Although Silent Hill being in SS22 does make sense. Its just the SS20 that seems to be thrown out of whack. Especially since a "bat belfry" can tie into both "gargoyles" & "victorian haunted mansion".
  22. Invasion of the Vault Snatchers...
