  1. No they've definately changed the combinations available there was nothing lucky about the system I used yesterday. Keep in mind i was top of the leaderboard by some distance yesterday and I've lost half my chips today and after analysing the combinations I believe they have added more combos to the cycle. Somebody worked out how many possible combinations there were to each game but i do not believe that the game WAS using them all. Maybe universal felt people were getting too many tokens im not sure. Also it's not possible for a computer to do a true random cycle as it has no free thought process. Good luck to everyone regardless.
  2. Warning I think universal are changing the codes daily as the ones I had a lot of success with yesterday are not working today. Sneaky little hobbits lol
  3. Congratulations Fallow on dethroning me from the top of the leaderboard while I slept. It's pretty cool members of this site are leading the way. I was actually wondering if we might actually get a special e mail hint if we topped the board or amassed a lot of tokens but it would appear that's not the case.
  4. Yeah I'd go along with early 70s too thinking about it. I reckon this stands a very good chance of being a comedy house too. Only two problems there for me. I'm not keen on comedy houses and I hate the 70's lol. I'll try and keep an open mind though. The Ghost Ship, Lady Hawthorn and Thing houses have me excited though. Wonder how long we'll have to wait for the next games?
  5. Concerning the late night tv horror house I expect this to be set in the 60's due to clues on the puzzle. The old style telephone, the poster about color tvs (as I recall they came out in the 1960s and the lava lamp. I don't think this will have much if any connection to the theme this year.
  6. The more I see of the site update the more I'm thinking there isn't a casino house at all. Too many things on there seem to tie together making me think that the icon house is connected to Lady Elizabeth Hawthorn. I'll explain. The title Lady suggests money and it looks to me that when you complete a game we are slowly building a house of cards. Or a mansion fit for a Lady? When we choose or card to see which game we play it's presented on a silver tray. Now a silver tray is fitting for perhaps a butler in service to a Lady in a big residence. You could certainly hold private card games at such a place too as the rich would not take notice of such a little thing as gambling being illegal. Maybe the lord of the manor was a gambling cad and it's his hand we see severed on the table. Anyway I think there are too many connected things on the site to imply a minor house which leads me to believe it's the main one. My personal theory is the gambling husband killed his Lady wife and she came back as Lady Luck for poetic justice and vengeance.
  7. Woo hoo I'm top of the overall leaderboard with 330 points under Jason S. I've overtaken Taylor S. Taylor Swift? Nah couldn't be lol. I knew all those hours of playing adventure games like The Secret Of Monkey Island would pay off one day lol I can confirm that although the puzzle answers to the tv and crypt games change every time there are not infinite answers. The same answers roll around fairly regular so there are only so many to choose from. So far I've come up with 8 different answers to the tv puzzle and 5 different answers to the crypt.
  8. Cool a ghost ship maybe. If they add wind machines and a howling wind soundtrack this could be a really cool house. Im presuming this is possibly where the request for Spanish speaking scareactors ties in.
  9. I totally agree. Checking their official site for updates is part of the fun, looking for hot spots or things like the Lengendary Truth hacking the site. I'm really dissapointed in their lack of interest and I'm not a massive fan of facebook. I still keep hoping they are gonna come up with something cool on the official site but it's been so long without anything new I'm starting to think they won't develope it much this year.
  10. Ahhh my apologies I've only attended the last 3 years so I'm not familier with what's gone on before that. Back to the drawing board for me then.
  11. Lmao. Or I could be overthinking it. I blame the lack of updates I think I'm starting to go a little crazy. Wibble.
  12. There was a Swedish death metal/gothic metal band called Cemetary that existed between 1989 and 2005. They had multiple albums, one of them called "Sundown". I'm trying to find if any of the songs on it mention a blue light. Not sure what that will mean if I do, some kind of demented rock group? Hmmmm kinda sounds like last years HOS. After checking all the lyrics to the previously mentioned Cemetary album "Sundown" i can find no mention of blue lights but i did find something interesting. The whole album strikes me as having a theme of Vampires and being turned with song titles such as Sundown, New Dawn Coming and The Embrace (a term that is used for the turning of a human into a vampire). An example of lyrics from "The Embrace" are as follows: A slave to my desire Crimson honey on my lips Order of the process Dead red passion trip A thought then struck me about a possible theme to the house if i'm on the right track about the clue. Universal have been known to follow popular trends when making houses in the past and what is more popular than the Twilight series (to others not to me lol). There seems to be an ever growing tide of Vampire wannabes and the outlook of Vampires as romantic, tortured souls and not as the monsters they were originally portrayed to be. I then gave a thought to what the blue light might be and after discounting the idea of Dr Whos TARDIS (joke) i thought of a blue neon sign. Like what you might find outside of a bar or club. What if the theme of the clue is a club/bar that is where Vampire wannabes hang out, where the type of gothic metal music would play but that was run by actual Vampires and not the romantic type. The monstous, savage, evil type that feed off the people that vist their establishment. Kind of a metal version of From Dusk Til Dawn with us, the paying guests as the victims of the house.
  13. Now Insidious would make a fantastic house as there are more physical scares than in Paranormal Activity. That red demon was really freaky. One thing to remember is that not all the movie based houses Horror Nights do are based on Universal owned franchises. You won't see that house this year i dont think but you never know what the future holds
  14. Welcome to the forums. While I love the Paranormal Activity movies and think they are the scariest movies I've seen (with the exception of Insidious) I'm not sure it would make a great house. Most of the scares in the movie are implied or invisible so like you say it would be thin on scareactor involvement. If they could pull off the same type of intensity that the movie creates then it would be cool I just don't see it happening. Thanks for alerting me to the trailer though I've been waiting for that.
  15. Can anyone tell me if there is any advantage being at the event on the final night? Do they do anything special or different that they dont do on any other night? Just wondered as i've never attended the last night but i will be in Orlando then.
  16. Looking forward to getting to know as many of you as i can.

  17. Talking about props that may be in The Thing house I have a question. Seeing as the movie has just been made and not released yet is it possible they will use some of the actual props from the movie? It would certainly save on the cost and be rather cool. Could the chopper youre all talking about be the one out of the movie for instance? If the end of the new movie stays true to the start of the original shouldn't it blow up or is my memory failing me?
  18. Ok if the hint from our Mutual Friend does mean Fright Night something just occured to me. Last years event was supposed to be the climax of a 20 year cycle ending in Fear being revealed. This year was supposed to be a new beginning, a new era, a start of another cycle. I'm sure most of you remember what began the last cycle and it wasn't called Halloween Horror Nights. It was called Fright Nights. Be kinda fitting don't you think?
  19. This really does sound similar to the content of Fright Night doesn't it? I know it's being remade this year does anyone know if it's a Universal movie and what the release date is. That would be kinda cool for me as it was the first horror movie I saw in a movie theatre and so I have fond memories of it.
  20. Thanks for clearing that up Cody. You are lucky to have such a reliable contact who's in the know. Some people like myself don't have access to such info which is why we come on here. Let's hope your contact continues to be so accurate in the future.
  21. I don't really mind one way or another whether Chance is going to be an icon this year but a few people like Dr Jimmy and Cody have stated that they don't think that she will be. Is this based on any facts or is it just a guess? Have I missed some piece of information regarding Chance disregarding her involvement? If so could someone enlighten me?
  22. That's an interesting picture you found LMFAOsebastian. Did you notice the broken heart is the same as the tattoo on Chance's arm with the other arm having a heart, club, spade and diamond on it? Very interesting.
  23. Nice find on the variety article about the Thing house Horror Lover. That's one house's identity down seven to go. I just hope the article is more accurate about the house than it is about who made the 80's Thing movie. Roger Corman? I always though it was John Carpenter or am I living in an alternate reality lol?
  24. I am actually glad to hear that A&D may not be tied down by trying to make everything fit into some overall theme. I disagree I'd actually go to the other extreme and like them to theme it more thoroughly. It's not that hard if they pick the right theme and subject. This year for instance they could come up with 8 different houses based on different aspects of luck and fate. This could be carried on through to the scarezones. Games of chance with a horror theme in the streets. Maybe random elements added to the houses so that the layout or scenes change every so often. When you consider the fuss they made over the appearance of Fear last year prior to the event and then did virtually nothing with him or the theme I think a more widespread theming would be better. It would certainly make you feel like you'd entered one specific place/event rather than 8 randomly assembled horrors. Don't get me wrong I've loved the last 3 HHN I've been to but I've sometimes left wishing there was more of a link. I guess Id prefer a novel rather than a book of short stories with each house representing a chapter of that story. What do you guys think? More or less theming this year?
  25. Ok concerning Chance as a possible icon this year. It's true that her clown persona doesn't fit the gambling/casino theme but just because she has been a clown doesn't mean she always has to be. I always got the the impression that her image was because she was in thrall to Jack but with him gone does she have reason to dress that way? Maybe with his departure she has been forced to grow up and find her own identity. Other things like the Luck/Chance similarity and the card suit tattoo would suggest her being a good fit. Maybe I'm just grasping at a coincidence or red herring buts it seems possible. I still got a feeling there will be two icons this year, one for each card shown. It may just signify that the the queen card brings death with her though. That's the fun of speculating I guess.
