  1. Just curios, as I've been following this thread since it was part I, but where did this speculation come from that Sting alley was going to be full of hags?
  2. Eight cards, eight houses I suppose.
  3. It's a bit odd that the tree wasn't decorated inside the house...I don't know.
  4. I spy with my eye a box that says "China Hat" at Jaws and a Christmas tree, giant red and green balls like Christmas decorations, and a wooden horse in Disaster. I am at Universal right now in line for Disaster so I'll upload the Christmas tree pictures when I get home. Edit: Here are two camera phone pictures I took from the Disaster line of the Christmas tree: Also, I noticed one of the rooms is more and more beginning to look like a nursery. There were several little wooden horses, a stuffed animal, and giant apples on top of another.
  5. Is it me or does the Disaster house make you guys think of a kid's room? Giant block letters...
  6. Everyday after school I would watch The Simpsons on UPN here in central Florida and I remember the commericals running all the time. I think the first one I remember was for HHN IV and I wanted to go so badly because the first movie I ever remember watching was It with my parents so I loved all things horror.
  7. How did you guys know whether you'd be working a specific location or as ABU/firecrew? I wasn't told. Should I expect to find out during orientation?
  8. A Creature Feature type house would be awesome. I hope there would be a nod to Dr. Paul Bearer.
  9. Didn't Anonymous attack Universal's site? I know they attacked about of websites in Orlando because of the Food Not Bombs fiasco. That could be a possibility. Probably have an opening similar to when they made fun of Saw except for a guy in a Fawkes mask.
  10. Hired! Performer C but no other details. My orientation is August 18. I am so excited to be joining the UO team again especially for Horror Nights! Walk in to Human Resources. Just tell the lady at the desk what's going on. That's what I did today.
  11. I think I may have made it! Out of the group I was one of five to get through. They have to go through my conditional re-hire status since I worked at Universal before I went into the military and said I should be getting a call in a week. Crossing my fingers. I was very nervous, but when I made the panel laugh with my answer it felt like a load was lifted. Whew.
  12. Just wanted to bring this up: Falk played Columbo. Colfer is most famous for his Artemis Fowl novels with a criminal mastermind as the protagonist. And people "jailbreak" Steve Jobs inventions, not to mention Jobs broke the law when Apple first started by making blue boxes. I am seeing a crime connection here more so then death.
  13. Fun fact and a stretch but blackjack is a strain of THC. Dealer fits but I don't think that is something Universal would do.
  14. Blackjack could be in reference to the weapon.
  15. If there is only five scarezone areas that you guys are hearing about right now, isn't there a possibility that the size of the scarezones are going to get bigger?
  16. Two of my favorite moments were from last year. I was with my girlfriend at the time, my friend from college and his girlfriend. We were at the Twenty Years of Fear scarezone, wandering, taking pictures. I saw Chance and yelled "I love you Chance!" Chance swung around, looked at me, then leaned forward and shook her wahwahs. I asked "Can I get a picture?" She skipped over, swung her hand up, and *snikt* switchblade in my face. "What's the secret wooooorrrrdddd?" I was genuinely scared for a split second. Definitely one of the best interactions I've had with a scareactor. Then, we were in the Saws and Steam scarezone. One of the bigger scareactors I've seen jumped in front of us with his chainsaw. I don't remember why but we started to talk to this guy for a second. Then boom, this guy was revving his chainsaw on my girlfriends butt. We started laughing when she said "that feels good." Then he started to rev the chainsaw about 180 degrees around. We were all laughing hysterically by then. By far the funniest thing I've experienced while at HHN. And of course I will never forgot my first house ever when I went to HHN XVI, the Psycho house. I was so scared that I ran out the last room and a half and left my entire group behind. I was 17 at the time and felt like such a baby.
  17. If you are coming from Sand Lake Road with I Drive behind you, turn right onto Turkey Lake Road. It'll be on your right about two miles down. I-4 West bound take the Universal exit (65 I believe, after the Kirkman exit) then make a left at the light. Then right onto Turkey Lake. It's right across the street from a Shell station and Papa John's.
  18. This. Last year I did Stay and Scream and within two hours we did every house. Definitely worth the money considering it was only an extra 15 bucks.
  19. I did some research about the history of gambling in the United States (ie not just Wiki), and gambling was legalized in Las Vegas by 1931. I feel this time period ties in with the music and mood of the teaser site. Now why I bring up Vegas is because of this: crime. I have been to Vegas 5 seperate occassions for at least two weeks at a time. I've heard the story and myth of Ted Binion. But what I've never heard of was a member of the Jewish mafia, with ties to the Italians named Lensky. Lensky opened the Flamingo. There is one very very strong connection I could make with Lensky and the teaser's motto/tag. The legitamacey (I know I spelt that wrong) of Lensky's casino games were often called into question. To almost everyone it seemed as if his games were indeed rigged. Hmmmm... "nobody beats the House." I have a very strong feeling our icon may be somewhat based off this. If our icon is some sort of mafia type, to me that seems original and can be taken very very dark. The Queen of Spades is also interesting because if the icon is loosely based of Lensky but instead is female, that to would be an interesting concept.
  20. Talking about casino and gambling cities, Biloxi Mississippi has a handful of casinos, Nola has riverboat casinos (as already stated), and so does Savannah, which is usually regarded as the most haunted city in the south, and maybe even in the country.
  21. It would have to be the other way around.
  22. No. They specifically told us no video or cell phones out. Then they started talking about HHN and this new "era." They then told us they were going to show us concept art work for one of their new houses. When the slide came up it was just a stick figure walking into a crudely drawn house; the next slide was of said stick figure running away from the house with a stick figure guy wielding a chainsaw in pursuit. While everyone was laughing The Caretaker came from back stage and sneaked up behind the two guys. The Caretaker then said something, although I can't remember what. After about a minute on stage all together they walked off.
  23. I just remembered something in regards to Cindy. During this years Attraction Ops Awards at USO two of the Horror Nights guys came out and were talking about HHN 21. They really didn't say anything in regards to this year's theme or what have you, but The Caretaker did come out on stage after about a third of the way through their spiel. Now I am wondering why The Caretaker came out versus Jack. I guess probably because The Caretaker's costume and makeup is easier, but why even have an icon come out at all when all they were doing was getting the people in Attractions excited for HHN 21 and how they are ushering in a completely new era.
  24. Thanks! I missed that part. I am just hoping we don't park at the Hollywood lot now....
  25. Just a random question: about how early should we arrive to HR? Is it possible I am going to have to park at the Hollywood lot? Thankfully, I live 5 minutes away from employee parking.
