    Hollywood, on the other hand....

    I live 20 miles from HHN Hollywood and think I will pass on it, based on what I am hearing.  They have all but lost a customer in me.  Time for John Murdy to go.

    Gosh, it sounds like you don't even appreciate the wonderful aesthetic a black hallway brings to the event. [/sarcasm]

    Speaking of scarezones, I’m hoping for three things from Vamp ‘85:

    1. Great interactions with guests (like the adventurers club at pleasure island had when that was a thing);

    2. Great music, with a Spotify playlist made available of the music in the buildup to the event. They did a generic HHN one last year, so should be an easy win;

    3. Actual celebration of “NYE” at midnight with special show.

    There’s so much potential with this zone I really hope they do it justice. Any ideas where it will be based? Guessing round Mel’s diner, but actually I’d love to see it in New York. Then can have a few different areas for different music tastes, different mini shows, and have motorbikes for a nod to The Lost Boys.

    It's gonna be in NY

    Anybody else read the description for the harvest "An old barn is the setting of every kind of horror." And instantly think of Hershel's barn from the walking dead zone over by Mels?  wonder if they'll have anything like that in the zone this year idk about how others felt that year but as a kinda mini maze it seemed to be a bit helpful as a crowd killer every time we went by!!

    It'll probably be the same barn so they won't have to pay to build a new one, lol

  4. Ok, so considering just doing the FF+ with express and not doing the first Saturday I'm there (Oct 27). 5 nights should be enough, right? (Sun 28th, and Halloween to the last night)

    ETA: decided to just go with the Ultimate pass and may get an express for that first Saturday. Also went ahead and got my UTH tour for the day of Halloween.

    That just means it’s a trademark for the phrase “Bloody Mary” for use specifically in relation to jewellery. So probably a jewellery range called “Bloody Mary”. It does not, however, trademark fonts, lettering style, colours, size, etc.

    It also appears to have been in use since March 2008, but only filed for trademark protection this year. Interesting.

    In any case dont get too worried. Trademark protection is pretty flimsy. From what I remember (though it’s been a while and from a UK viewpoint), you need to prove there’s a case for consumers confusing products and as a result there’s a loss to the business. Though not sure what the specific US rules are regarding trademarks, I’d imagine they are pretty similar to the UK and rest of the world.

    Looking at her website, she's mostly a makeup artist, and I think she has a makeup line called Bloody Mary. She has a website for it, www.dearbloodymary.com but it's not loading for me.

    Aaaaaaand apparently BM is trademarked again--dang you Bobbie Weiner!. Ah well, we have five originals and two of the IPs are ones I really like. I can't complain too much.

    Is it the same thing if it's just a product and not the character? I still don't really get how you can copyright an urban legend, but whatever.

    Clue Set 1 – “Babylegs” (Announced Dead Exposure: Patient Zero/Codename Zero)

    Part 1

    Part 2

    https://masterofallscience.com/video/S01E08/E-iboRmcdE_CmKZMaK3OLFWY7U0=.gif

    Rule – Word Exchange

    Solution – In Part 1, the word “Detective” is replaced by the word “Cop.” A Detective is similar to a Private Investigator. Boris Schuster, the protagonists of Dead Exposure in 2008 was a PI. In Part 2, “Daddy Legs” replaces “Regular Legs” to key on a replaced word.

    Clue Set 2 – “Mind Blowers” (Announced Trick R Treat/Codename Dynamite)

    https://masterofallscience.com/video/S03E08/wPNxfU_TWkVEtOhez8ka_gwO7GU=.gif

    Rule – Word count

    Solution – Counting the words in each line of the clue gives you 4-2-2. This translates to a time of 4 minutes, 22 seconds (it’s the only option in a 30 minute show). At that time mark in the Rick and Morty episode “Morty’s Mind Blowers,” Rick states “They don't all have titles, though. It's not a "Simpsons" Halloween special, more like a clip show made of clips you never saw!”

    The movie Trick R Treat, as an anthology, is ‘like a clip show,’ dedicated to Halloween.

  8. This is presuming they keep the ticket structure they have last year. I'm going the last 2 weekends this year, 10/27-11/3 basically. Trying to determine which ticket type to get. Last year it looked like the entire last weekend was on the FFP+. Did they add any other dates? Should I just go with the ultimate FFP with express to make it easy? Or just skip the 27th and do the last weekend. I'd rather not pay close to $600 (was there an ap discount last year?), but if its the easiest option that also gets me the most HHN then I'll manage it. This is my first year not going when ROF was an option so its kinda new to me. Thanks for the help!
