Okay so since we now know that Feature = Halloween 4, it’s pretty obvious that Surprise is Blumhouse. Therefore, unless Surprise is something else, I’m realllly curious as to why you have Blumhouse as your THIRD anticipated house.

He's mentioned why before: the prospect of a "deja vu" like house with the same room repeated with different scares. But again he's viewing from more of a design prospective.

The novel is an excellent source of material to see how Baum's original creation contains horror elements and how it can be easily translated into horror.

When it comes to IPs that are now public domain, other sources and works based on them are always great ways of finding how the original can be altered to fit the horror genre.

Will it completely connect? No, but originals are always inspired by outside sources. I'd suggest giving Emerald City a watch as well. We could possibly see imagery from there in Oz portions of the house.

I loved Emerald City! Tarsem is so underappreciated as a director. His films are always so beautiful. I still watch The Cell at least a couple times a year. I've also read all of the Wicked books, even the last 2 are only so so IMO. I'm kinda an Oz nerd.

Horror is probably one of the most inclusive genres...

I'm tempted to tell what L F B became, but it's such an excellent piece of trivia. A piece of trivia I had to discover the etymology of the moment I first read it back in 05/06(?). I've read too many books over the years. I picked both up around the time The Wolves of Calla came out. Needed something to tide me over while I waited for HP6 and Song of Susannah.

    ST3 plot line:

The Evil Queen has cast a spell allowing her scribes to change the happily ever afters to happily never afters.

  4. Hey all, really off topic, but I started watching Castle Rock, and the opening death scene stuck a chord in my brain. I swear I remember reading in a book, I want to say it was one by King but I could be wrong, where someone staged it to look like someone killed themselves in the same manner. I've tried google and everything else I can think of but I figured I'd ask yall since I'm sure someone hear reads a lot of horror books like me. Though it could have been a mystery as well.

    That lackluster reveal.

I mean we could just get a big reveal any day now.
I hope that isn't the big reveal of mid summer scream con reveal.

We are getting another reveal around July 28 /29th
most likely shared Ip from Hollywood and Orlando.

God, I wish I was in California right now.  In and Out and Mountains and over 100 heat wave.

I mean, we have In N Out in Texas :D

Can someone tell me why many think this will go in Sprung 2? This sounds like a moderately-sized house... I personally think it'll go in Shrek.

It's gonna be in one of the parade buildings, but I forget which one.

  7. I have seen a video of the Chucky show on YouTube. I honestly haven't really paid attention to Hollywood's event until recently with all the shared houses we keep having, probably around the time La Llorona moved over. I had no idea of all this. I've only been to that park once and I literally only got butterbeer and did the tram.

I know, I know.  We don't appreciate the little things.

But in all seriousness - you know how much a can of flat black paint costs around August at my local Home Depot?  Trick question - it ain't available.  Murdy has cornered the market.

Seriously. I was watching a walkthrough of their Blumhouse to see how they did HDD, and I was like "oh, the people on here didn't exaggerate this black hallway thing did they?". I thought it was cool that the house had outdoor sections(?) tho.
