  1. We have had a lot of female icons, but honestly, Terra Queen is the only one that stands out to me, personally. Bloody Mary had no real live presence in the park, same with Storyteller. And Cindy never became a real icon. I would like a female Icon like Terra Queen, where we can go tot he park and see her in person. I like the idea of personifying Luck, I think it could be cool!

  2. The idea of the Librarian with no mouth is very, very cool. I like that idea. The only thing is that everyone keeps talking about how it'd have to be literature that hasn't been made into a movie and all that stuff. Honestly, I'd rather see their own stories. Made up stories, or stories that the Librarian wrote herself. Houses based off of existing books and stories just seems a little far out to me. Lets face it, not everyone loves to read, and not everyone knows all the good horror stories that are out there. Heck, I wouldn't be all that surprised if a majority of people didn't know any of literature that has been mentioned here. I feel like they'd go for their own original stories before they turned to existing literature.

  3. Reality really hits home for me at HHN, which is why I prefer it. I really hope to see more real fears in these upcoming years. Real life horrors get to me. I felt very, very unsafe, uncomfortable and scared walking through TCM house. When you bring real danger into the situation, it's very easy to believe, rather than zombies, aliens, etc. I was the same way when I walked through the Strangers section of the Silver Screams house. The scene was very small, but it had me scared out of my mind. I'm defiantly affected more by the real life horrors.

As for fantasy, unless it's done perfectly right, I tend to be able to keep my cool. Now, Hades last year got to me. It captured me. Everything from the facade, to the things hanging from the ceiling, to the characters. I walked into the house thinking it was gonna be cake to walk through. But the house ended up being the scariest house of the year for me. If fantasy is done right, it can be just as horrifying as reality.

  4. As much as I'd love to see the event at IOA, it wont happen. It would be cool to have a fans only event there for a night, where everything is themed just for us! :P

As for keeping everything a secret.. That's fine and all, but it adds a lot of hype. And if it doesn't live up to the big hype, even just a little, it hurts itself. We'll see though!

  5. I know this would probably be a tad offensive, and I'm sure it's been brought up before, but wouldn't real life serial killers be an amazing theme for houses? John Wayne Gacy's basement, Ted Bundy's female victims, Ed Gein's demented home with his dead mother.

Actually. Fuck that. I wouldn't want to go in those. I'd shit my pants.

Actually, that would be scary as hell.. More "real horror". Something I'd really like to see at events in the future. Everything has been very fictional and "monster" themed. Why not some more realistic horror?

  6. Maybe I fail to see how the 16.2MP sensor, 25,600 maximum ISO, 14-bit RAW files, 30fps 720p/24fps 1080p video, external mic input, 6fps continuous mode, 100% coverage viewfinder, 39-point AF system, 2016 pixel RGB sensor, magnesium upper and rear plates, dual card slots, among a few other smaller changes don't make this a true successor to the D90 without going to a pro body.

I've been reading all over TONS of forums and blogs about Nikon prosumer bodies for the last 6 months and have never heard anything about another possible D90 replacement. Could you provide a link?

The Nikon D7000 is really an upgrade. I'm just waiting to see if they release anything else that might tickle my fancy on the video side of things. We shall see. I'll most likely purchase the D7000. It seems like cameras get spit out so quickly, which is why I'm waiting. I'll have to look for links when I have time, I'm sure there still there. A lot of the rumors were of the D7000 I believe, but I think I read about D8000. I'll go look.

I thought about selling my Canon HV40. I'm not sure yet. I was rather disappointing with it. Not versatile enough for me, and it really limits creativity in some cases. We'll see. I guess it depends on how much I can get for it.

  7. I'm waiting for Nikon to release a D90 upgrade. I have a D90, and I want a new camera with 1080 video. I don't want to go to Canon because I have lenses. I'm not quite sure about the D7000. I know there are problems with hot pixels. But I heard that Nikon has fixed (or tried to fix) this problem. Hows the video quality for you, Grime?

I'm also waiting to see if they announce the rumored D8000 later this year.

  8. id like a scene where for a zombie SZ you can have a actor dressed as a guest with fake organs and blood packs under the clothing and the zombies would chase this person down(given that the scareactors know their targets) and tackle them down and start ripping them apart and making the blood spill all over which then that actor as a guest will eventually rise as a zombie! Sounds like alot of fun and does have its flaws but fun to imagine. It can be used to make the atomosphere more intense for the time.

This would be cool. I miss the cinematic moments the took out of the houses. It would neat to see them bring it back onto the streets.

  9. I have to agree that the idea of a flash mob sounds kind of... lame and pointless. Though, if every scareacter just froze randomly for 5 minutes, music stopped, and then started scaring again randomly and music started simultaneously.. that would be cool.

  10. From my understanding, Where Evil Hides was a miss that year... But it seemed like such an great idea to me. Cody has a nice idea, though, I don't know how something like that could be executed. How could you hide the "evil" and then show it in a few seconds of lights flashing?

Also, Cold Blind Terror failed as well from what I heard. I always thought they could pull off a house with complete darkness, padded walls, stuff hanging from the ceiling, a killer soundtrack and a few scareactors. Also could chill the house down as well. THAT would be terrifying in my opinion.

  11. I'd love to see a return to The Hallow. It was a great premise that could be explored more. Plus- I love it whenever A&D can put the "Halloween" back into "Halloween Horror Nights".

Oh how I'd love to see them explore that idea more. That house was kick ass, and I agree. When A&D does the Halloween theme, it always seems to work. Probably because it's the easiest to do, but it's easily the best theme because of the feel and atmosphere it gives.
