I too thought of the floating head name, and they do look like they're kind of hanging... Maybe they're puppets that someone will move around? Looks pretty freakin wicked.
-
How could they possibly put a theme like Saws&Steam in a SS? They wouldn't be able to use Chainsaws. Unless they took the Chainsaws out of the picture. But then it wouldn't truly be S&S in my opinion. I feel like, if there is a S&S house, it's in the Jaws Queue.

When I think of what we know of the Disaster house, I think of the Scary Tales 2. Specifically the bloodied up Bunny costume.
-
I wish our site would do something like the Hollywood site is doing, updating with house names. I noticed the Howl-O-Scream sites are doing that as well. As for the Disaster house, I like Dr. Jimmy's idea. I think it'd be the perfect place too, since that's usually where they have the queue video.

Why do I feel like there is nothing to speculate on specifically. The thing house we know is going to be there and it is in either ss 22 or 23 but we will find that out during the even plus is not that big of a deal. There's absolutely nothing big on the website and no one is taking construction pictures. Everything is slow this year. Does anyone else feel this way?
I agree. There are, though, instructional pictures at HHN rumors. I don't know why they aren't posted here as well, but you can see some there. I'm a little disappointed that we aren't getting much web action. Or is it still possible for it to kick up?

The "Art of the Scare" documentary is what got me into Horror Nights. I remember watching it for the first time, and BEGGING my parents to go. I finally went in 2006 and haven't stopped going since!

In regards to movie houses at the event I think that these houses really showcase just how amazing universal is when it comes to making houses for the event. Their ability to replicate these movie sets so realistically is what really reaches out to the general audience. It gives them something to compare it to and associate a memory with. I think we all can remember a movie or movies that scared us throughout our lives. While I do enjoy seeing their original creations more I don't think I would appreciate them as much without seeing how well they can duplicate the movie houses.
I have to agree. Universal is known for movies.. It makes sense to have a movie house, right? I'm excited for the thing house. The movie comes out the weekend I'm going. So, basically, I'm gonna watch the movie during the day and then live it that night. I think it's gonna be a cool experience!

You get what you pay or in my opinion. There really isn't anything much like HHN anywhere else, and you know you're getting a high quality experience. Though, if tickets were to get to 95+ dollars for a reg ticket, I'd be pretty upset.

Saws&Steam would be an interesting house, especially for the Jaws queue... But would they be able to have REAL chainsaws in that house? I'd be dissapointed if they did a Saws&Steam house and they didn't use the real deal. I feel like Disaster would be the place for such a house.

The Thing house just really lacked what you'd expect in the house... Things. Very few monsters. And it didn't really feel like the Thing either.
-
The 2007 house never really felt like The Thing in my opinion, all though it was one of my favorites solely for the fact the sets were very neat. The lack of "things" was a disappointment, but I think they learned from their mistakes with that house, and I expect an awesome house this year. I'm super interested to see if they put it in the Parade building or a SS.
-
I don't see how the roles for the Jaws Queue hint towards the The Thing at all. It's possible that it is in there, but as of now the code names don't hint to it at all in my opinion. It would make more sense for it to be in a sound stage. It does take place in Antarctica, and it would be very hard to keep the temperature low in the Jaws queue.

Thank god they are probably moving scarezones around this year. More spread out, much, much better. As for the house names.. They're all pretty much too vague to really speculate on, minus the dealer. The floating head sounds rather interesting though! Sounds like a neat effect!
-
... I think it's just a font.
-
It will never happen, but a Silent Hill scarezone in New York/Sting Ally would be pretty freaking awesome

Maybe they'll finally give us Hoodies?
Just kidding, they don't really seem to care about merchandise all that much -__- such a shame. I'd love a hoody!

I'm surprised so many of you are mentioning houses from two or three years ago! There are so many older houses that I'd love to see, especially Dark Torment. The only really recent house that I think deserves the come back is Reflections of Fear, and I think a lot of us can agree on that one. As for Leave It To Cleaver, I feel like we wont be seeing that house in a long time, if ever. It's kind of a one trick pony. Seeing it on the streets in Sting Ally would be great though.
-
The code names are interesting. Who knows what the actual houses are though.. They could really be anything. What if each house has it's own icon? No one beats the House.. But what about Chance, Fate, Death, Luck, Risk, and Odds? Consequences doesn't really fit, though. But it could.

Has much changed in the parks lately? Maybe the Sprung Tent facades?
-
I know we are entitled to our opinions....
However, why would you want a sequel to Cold Blind Terror??!!??!! That house was poorly thought out and poorly executed. It would have to be a completely new idea with a different name if it was ever redone successfully.
I'm just sayin'!
It was done poorly when it was done. I feel like if they did it RIGHT, it would be an all dark house, that uses hearing and touch as it's key scare points. I think it could be a really scary house if done correctly.
-
I'm on the same boat as the people that want a clean slate. But if I had to choose houses to come back for sequels, Dark Torment, and Cold Blind Terror would be my choices.

I'm just curious. How many of you would like to see houses from previous years make a return this year? If so, how many? How many of you would rather not see any at all?
-
I really hope a great HHN style version of this is used this year.
This song personifies Big Band. The layout gives me such a great Boardwalk Empire vibe.
It would be so awesome to here this song at the event! Such a great tune. Really sets a great mood too!

But you have to remember that Halloween Horror Nights is known for it's unique and new themes every year.. I think Universal trusts A&D to do what they do best. As for Cindy, well I hope to God that she and all the other icons won't appear for another 10 years. I'm really tired of them. I want a new start! Fresh! No trying to tie new icons with the past or FEAR. Just a new icon, with it's own story.

I don't think it will be 3-D with glasses... I think it might be something more along the lines of Dead Exposure, with the black lights playing a big role in scenes.
