  1. Hey now, I loved being on the CDT. And we weren't just left over ABU. Mostly firecrew and some pulled from other roles. We worked very hard to create choreographed bits for the guests enjoyment. Some roles actually provide you with shoes. We were given Boots last year for the Drill Team, though I had my own pair. Key thing is being comfortable. Especially if knees are an issue. Working as a scareactor, you'll become sore in places you didn't know you could. Its highly recommended to attempt to condition yourself somewhat( if casted) before the opening of the event. Chances are, you'll end up dropping some pounds by the end of the run.
  2. Everything you've been told is great advice, it's all very true. The biggest thing we see people doing each year, is over thinking this whole process. Show up early, wait in line all day. Get inside, wait more. In the audition room introduce yourself, and follow instructions and be yourself! From there your told yes or no. It's just that simple. I wear gym shorts and a tshirt. They could care less about what you wearing, as it will not affect them choosing you for a role. So just be comfortable. Heck, sometimes you've been casted before you've entered the room. They only need to know you can be outgoing and can interact, without touching the table!!!! After all this the hardest part is waiting to receive your "code name" for your role, which gets you one step closer to being even more confused about everything. Fortunately we have the site to follow until rehearsals. Rehearsals introduce you to everything horror nights. Rules, cast mates, your character, house/zone etc... The entire process is fun, and youll meet a lot of great people along the way. Again, just don't overthink this whole auditon process. It's simple and fun. They're more worried about your body type than anything. Yay for auditions almost being here!
  3. Yay, im gonna start talking again...sometimes Exactly! Now things that have been talked about, as far as having an icon...or not. We generally seemed focused on the back story more than anything else. I for one prefer having an Icon, and universal has done wonderful jobs of creating and presenting them to us. But we crave a storyline. Icon or no icon, that's what would make us happy. We nit pick. They give us a crappy icon with an amazing back story, we are happy, but eh...wtf icon? They give us an amazing icon...less than pleasing back story. So give us a great story and event that works well together as a whole, and we'd surely be satisfied right now with no icon. You think back to Bloody Mary. They surely scored on both here, great icon...great story...but then of course, she lacked presence in the park. As well as her house mostly being disliked. We have many exciting months ahead of us to figure out just what A New Era will bring. And im looking forward to reading everything posted here as the year develops. Oh the excitement.
  4. It was most likely me. And. Teenage girls aren't the only targets Males of any age and size work just as well.
  5. Haha, I'll say that most times HNN people don't seem to react in any way other than excitement and appreciation. You were alone, so I took a chance and you ran! And kept running...I enjoyed it. Good fun.
  6. Blah blah blah. I enjoyed my time roaming with the drill team. We definitely had lots of great scares. I've chose not to permanently stay with them, but it makes for a good watch with quality scares. As opposed to people just walking around and having chainsaws roaming. It's fun seeing the crowds gather only to have pandemonium occur when all the saws rev up and guys go running. I'd say for most guests. Thank god for sidewalks.
  7. Way to be rude. People are misunderstanding the concept of what the house and sz being tied together is. All TMan was trying to do, is inform people of the misunderstanding. This is all, he in no way was acting as if he knows more than you. The fact is, yes we do. But we cannot say what to keep our jobs. He was kind enough to correct the understanding of how they connect differently than old houses/sz's, now you know and will shortly find out how. There's no need to bring that poor attitude here like that. Dang
  8. I'm going to guess it's what was pulling the float we've seen on the website.
  9. Correct, at times they opened early...not always. Last year, the few times i was in kidzone, both the tent and parade building opened at the same time. Though i always went parade building first, they may have just opened the line to the house for the tent. As Bruins said, its a progression throughout the park, why its best to move quickly and be at the right place at the right time.
  10. Last year, my sign in time wasn't until later on, so I was able to make the openings of some houses. I experimented on different nights to see what was most effective. It was easy for me to just go through the SS houses, because when they opened people were still locked up in Finnegans. Now the holding pen for kidzone is directly at the entrances to the Parade Building and Tent 2? Meaning when they open at approximately 530, you've got two houses at your disposal. I could do all but, i'd say 1 or 2 houses before my call time at 7, and this is including seeing scarezones. SOO, if the parade building opens at 530, run through that...head to tent 2...run to the SS, and your looking at 550-6 o'clock. Now you have 3-4 houses down by the time the park opens to guests. People will then fill up the front of the park, which will be the 2 SS houses and parade/tent house you've already done. Leaving you to now hit up the houses that are starting to open in the back.
  11. So, construction thread anyone? Beat me to it, i was personally having a difficult time deciding on the smiley. Im looking forward to seeing just how big the zombie gras float is going to be
  12. This is going to be a little off topic, but to respond it's necessary. This years event is actually catoring to the "fanboy" fan base. Where as in the past, the websites have been for the diehard fans and the event catering more to the GP. Last year as an example, movies and big names. I would much rather have less than satisfying marketing as well as a basic website, to then have an incredible event that's geared toward "our" interests. We have the LT house, Cindys house, which essentially...she is a character whose backstory was really created by the fans. So with that said, alienate me all you want from the marketing and lackluster website, and blow my mind with things in the park that I will love and understand much more than the GP. The GP will love and enjoy the event as well, though they won't know the full story and/or understand each and every bit of the event like we do.
  13. If I'm not mistaken...our very own Kim made a wonderful old witch last year in horrorwood. Link that role to a con artist=icon, we've got ourself the storyteller. Has she been cast for this role?
  14. Just pointing out the fact that they do say there will be no "safe zones" every year. we all know there are, and will be safe zones, or rather dead areas.
  15. I guess someone wanted to make a new thread for this, but no I didn't see anything different. I asked them If they knew anything and their response was just the same we all know. "they've told us nothing yet!"
  16. HHN ticketing information is now being displayed in my Publix. Exciting to see!
  17. Something I've always laughed about. People tend not to use their EP passes properly. Last year for example, I got to see houses immediately when they opened since my call time wasn't till 7. Walking through the lines at around 530, there were people walking along side me in the EP line. Why?! There are a total of 10 people in line! Unless I'm wrong, I though EP was good once per house. Do as many houses as you can first, and only use the EP line as needed to get your extra visits.
  18. Well, it's something else walking around with people who know everything and anything HNN.
  19. You must be very excited, as HHNO is worth the trip. Don't worry though, you won't be alone! I'm on my phone, so I cannot paste the link. I suggest you read the HHN meet-up thread. That will show you who all will be attending the same night as yourself. From there just get in contact with them and you'll have people that would be more than happy to meet up with you. Walking around HHN with diehard fans is different than attending with a general friend who enjoys the event.
  20. I've been thinking about the new passes, with the addition of Fridays on the FFP and the express pass options. With so many people possibly buying the express pass, this will not only back up the express line, but the regular lines as well. Having to make sure they are getting express people into the house as well as making sure the regular line isn't stalling may prove to be difficult. Hopefully for you guys, this will not be the case, though I have a feeling the lines may be affected differently this year. The only things to make a difference would be HRRR and the new show which hopefully will attract larger amounts of people.
  21. agreed, though since they did cast people in San Fran, that makes for 7 SZ's. unless that is they are not using one of the zones from the past. i have not heard of anyone being cast in production central, so possibly they have just relocated a zone.
  22. curious why your guessing four zones? I was under the impression we were to have 7 with the addition of San Fran this year.
  23. Yep, not to long now. But most information will be out by the end of this month. Once rehearsals start, there won't be anything to hide anymore. Those begin I believe the first week of sept. So as said, I see the next few weeks to be pretty jam packed with good stuff.
