  1. *facepalm* ....really?

    kfY2N.jpg

Given previous history with projects such as the red behemoth that must not be named - I don't necessarily think conjecture that the ride MIGHT not be functioning by October is totally and completely out of the realm of discussion, especially for Wishful Thinking. I'm aware it is a virtual certainty, and I certainly wish and hope it is open when it is scheduled to be.

    Facepalm worthy? NIMHO. :)

  2. Music is a critical part of HHN, but I don't think it should be a focus. Not when there are all sorts of other things that could be done instead, and to greater effect.

Before this gets implemented - could we maybe pretty please get AC Goes to Hell Not in 3D But With Full Orlando Creativity? Keeping in mind that casting is CRITICAL, of course.

Just wishfulling my thinking. Even as a party of one.

    ETA: Zombie babies.

  3. You're wanting original characters, but then say you want a house featuring the Traditionals? That sort've backtracks. Besides, as I previously stated once already, 2010's "The Orfanage" was a house based around the Traditionals. There was even an eprom (scareactor activated device that triggers effect/audio) that said "TRICK OR TREAT!"...

I wonder if many posters, when talking about "original content," are comparing to and differentiating with IP's moreso than with previous years' offerings. Maybe that would clear up some of the inconsistencies being perceived, and still allow for the wishful in wishful thinking.

  4. I wouldn't say SS houses are better, they just have the potential to be...

I strongly suspect this is what most people mean when they hope for a house to be in a SS, not that SS houses are all innately better - although I obviously can only speak for myself. Silver Screams, Catacombs, Havoc, Forsaken, AC - all my favorite houses from the past several years have either been in a tent or parade.

But if there is a house that I'm particularly looking forward to, I would also like as many factors to be in its favor as possible - including a bit more room, a bit more control over lighting issues, etc. If a SS will provide that extra bit of potential, I look forward to that. That said, I personally believe a house I enjoy will thrive regardless of location.

  5. My preference is two parks, since my favorite year is still 2004. HOWEVER, I'll bet I would be setting myself up for a disappointment. Partly because I think nostalgia may be coloring my recollections; also - yes, it is a long walk to and from certain areas.

With another HOWEVER, if they could come up with some large and detailed scarezones a la Field of Screams and Fright Yard, then that would alleviate a lot of my remaining concerns.

  6. So - is there any reason we (they) can't drop the "roaming" from the hordes, and have set horde scarezones? I think something similar was mentioned earlier, but - best of both worlds? Still no safe zones, though - please!

Hordes ftw! With special love to my Strengoit of course.

And to whomever suggested Repo! as a show for this year - that is just sick and odd enough to be a really fabulous idea.

  7. Evil Dead is my favorite horror film of all time. That would be the bees knees you guys! The bees knees! But again, Knotts has also done an Evil Dead house as well. Not sure if that would diminish it's likeliness or not.

And JW, the houses you'd like to see are spot on! I went into Ghost Town when I was in elementary school so I don't remember much, seeing something similar would be neat. I believe it was HHN In Photographs that listed Ghost Town has the house they wish would get a sequeal for HHN 30 Day Challenge. I'd be up for that! :)

The Hollow 2, and another prison house, gah! These all sound really good. Hope to see these in the near future.

You get +1 for bees knees.

And Ghost Town was my favorite house for a long, long time. I'd love to see an equally impressive sequel/re-imagining.

  8. In recent discussions I've seen about locations for an eighth and maybe ninth house, I don't see any mention of additional tents as had been tossed around before. While I know soundstages are preferable for multiple reasons, does anyone in the know think that another tent is out of the question now? Is all the construction/expansion eliminating possible locations for a third tent house? That is - is Uni running out of space? I thought I had seen elsewhere that Uni was attempting to re-acquire some of the surrounding property, so I may be thinking more space is there than what really exists.

So, anyway, the wishful thinking for me, again, is 8 - 9 houses. Even if someone has to pitch a tent.

  9. Also, anything and everything possible to eat up the crowds. I think TF will definitely help with that, but anything they can do to disperse the crowds among as many attractions as possible would be sorely needed, especially after the crowds that HHN and other activities have been drawing lately.

H.R. Bloodengutz for icon? Heck, why not? :P To watch over a blood and guts event.

And for heaven's sake, I really hope they don't skimp on the actors. You want to maximize your most valuable resource - they did get the numbers amped up toward the end when they added the additional zones, so hopefully they will continue and expand on that, both in streets and houses.

And yes, I'd like to see a mix of stationary sets and roaming hordes, as others have recommended. And continue with Horror Unearthed and/or LT. I dearly love when they cater to the fan community, and they were just phenomenal with us this past event year.

  10. Let's see, given all the love I'm seeing for the Alice Cooper property thus far - let's have an all new Alice Cooper house, Alice Cooper chainsaw drill team, Alice Cooper go-go dancers, and Alice Cooper for HHN 23 icon! With an all Alice tribute to Rocky Horror in Beetlejuice ;):P

After all my silly foolishness here - yes, I would like to see Orlando creative take a shot at Alice Cooper Goes to Hell. Not in 3D, though, oh please. While I'd love to see it for 23, I do understand those who want it, but who believe it might be well to give a year or two gap.

I also agree with everything Reaper recommended - although I would prefer a two park set up to just IOA. Also, a return to 8 houses minimum, and finally bringing in that 9th extreme (upcharge, I suppose we must accept) house.

And I'd like to see a significant increase in psychological intensity and possibly the gore factor as well. I have absolutely no suggestions for how to accomplish that, but I'd like to see them take the sick up a notch at least.

Wow - that really was in the Christmas spirit, eh?

  11. After further reflection and consideration of my own 12 event years I've attended, I've revised my list to include a top three:

    1. Alice Cooper: Welcome to My Nightmare
    2. The Forsaken
    3. Ghost Town

The remaining are still in no particular order

S.S. Frightanic: Fear in First Class & Carnage Crew
    Run
    Gothic
    Deadtropolis
    Catacombs
    Havoc: Dogs of War
    H.R. Bloodengutz: Holidays of Horror
    Psychoscareapy
    All Nite Die-In
    Leave it to Cleaver
    Scary Tales

  12. If they do plan on doing another AC house in Orlando, I hope they wait at least two years.

With house "series" like Scary Tales, Body Collectors, PsychoScareapy(SP?), etc., what was the shortest amount of time between any of the house sequels? Only one I can think of off the top of my head is the 2 or 3 years between PsychoScareapy HFTH and Echo's of Shadybrook.

    Didn't they have a Screamhouse in 2002 and 2003?
