  1. I agree, while Hollywood's house was AMAZING I hope it wasn't a fluke and both coasts get it right cause you are right Orlando's Krampus was very disappointing.
  2. Hard to say. I didn't experience the original Dead Exposure but everything sounds possibly scary and amazing however I can completely agree and understand what you are saying like Hollywood and their famous black hallways and I find it incredibly frustrating finding my way through them and not scary, not disorienting or intimidating
  3. I think it would be a poor move to do an announcement this week or next for all the buzz of an announcement will be drowned by anything Avengers. I would think two weeks out would be an ok time to even think about announcing again. I know it is different genres but Avengers is such a mammoth that anything entertainment released same time frame is doomed to be crushed by the titan.
  4. With all the IPs up in the air, or at least here on the speculation board, my thoughts (for all that is worth) I would be extremely surprised if Halloween didn't make an appearance this year. Halloween has been extremely successful in Orlando and preview houses sure haven't stopped Orlando before, Dracula Untold, Insidious The Last Key, Jigsaw to name a few, regardless of how successful they have been to us/you ... if it is released in October I think it is fair game. Only movies like Krampus which were released well past HHN and were a "surprise" success would lead to a following year HHN....obviously anything is possible but I would think, especially with Universal and Blumhouse heading up the new Halloween, they wouldn't pass up using HHN to market the new movie to get people excited and get people to see it.
  5. I'm also confident in Universal to give us a convincing demogorgon, puppet or costumed character. However I always caution my optimism with a reminder of how terrible the Lickers from the Resident Evil house turned out, especially the same year that AWIL debuted.
  6. Good catch! I wonder what the mega house will be? It is so hard to say what the ST house will and won't include, as mentioned it has horror moments but overall it isn't that big in the show. We could get a bunch of Joyce yelling "WILL!!!!" lol! If IT does appear at Hollywood and not Orlando I will be extremely confused. I agree I couldn't imagine why one park would get it and not another. I am not the biggest fan of IT but I think Universal def should strike while the iron is hot and do a house this year. The lines for Stranger Things and IT would be insane
  7. Guess anything is possible but as the first announcement should be a property to get people talking and purchasing tickets. AHS Cult isn't a strong statement in my opinion especially in comparison to the previous two mega AHS houses, which were amazing announcements. I think IT or Stranger Things, if true, would really start the announcement season with a big impact.
  8. THIS!!!! I love Harry Potter but it would drastically change HHN I think for the worse if it became a focus of HHN. Scares, houses, and all other content would take a huge backseat...we don't need HP content at HHN.
  9. I know they always do this but why don't they release all types of tickets initially? Why wait for the multi-day pass, express, and etc?
  10. I am also curious as well as a alien/sci-fi house is news to me
  11. I agree, I hope both Orlando and Hollywood release their dates soon as I also am someone who needs to request off my vacation as early as possible. Especially since Halloween falls on a Weds will they do a Weds 24 to Weds 31 run? I can understand waiting on house announcements it is still pretty early however dates need to be released soon.
  12. I am confused by what you are saying...didn't AHS get first announcement last year? Teaser video was posted March 29
  13. I would love for them to dive into the wonderful deep lores that they have created, there is so many things they could do and almost any medium would work. However with our current struggle to keep the icons alive and going it def isn't happening soon. But I feel ya man! Have so much HHN fan art of the icons and could only imagine what an officially done spin-off for the icons could be like.
  14. While I understand it returning as heck it is cheap to put out and popular enough but geez if it does return next year it is truly TWD status. I didn't mind it this year tying into Blumhouse and everything but if drags itself through the event for several more years I'll be sorely disappointed. While I totally understand, begrudgingly , its return I just really hope it won't be true. Please give it a break...not a bad property to showcase at HHN but it def needs some time off. I've been good with it up to this point but...
  15. Really think Purge will return? In what capacity?
  16. I agree and while I enjoy them, the Titans, I just don't want their effectiveness to be ruined by to many repeats and become TWD and Purge category.
  17. Well if Stranger Things did come next year it would be an easy replacement for the popular tv show spot allowing AHS to make a graceful exit until maybe HHN 30 so it could have another three seasons to stack up instead of just doing Cult. I just hope if they do have Stranger Things they deliver because expectations will be high for sure, not that I don't have high expectations for all the houses just this particular property is really hot right now.
  18. I would love to see a second attempt at Resident Evil and even more so after the interview, which I am sorry don't remember where it is so I can't link it, where Mike Aiello said even he would like a second go at Resident Evil as he think the first incarnation didn't fully capture the magnitude/essence of RE. While I have seen others talk about a house based around RE7 and don't think that would be a bad idea at all, I would still like an attempt of "classic" RE with Lickers and the like...simultaneously experiencing the greatness that was the AWIL wolves puppets in the same year of the disappointing Licker puppets, I almost want a redo of the same house but better? Lol! When Until Dawn first came out I was clamoring for a HHN treatment but now I am not as sure if it would translate properly for HHN. The Last of Us was really popular and I see it being an actual possibility for HHN along with Bioshock, I feel in order for a video game to come to HHN it would have to be immensely popular since we are dealing with the GP and have to attract all sorts of people. Then with the two leads of horror in video games checked off, Silent Hill and Resident Evil, it is hard to say what the next step into video game horror will be but SH and RE had the help of being so popular they successfully crossed over, debate-ly, into movie cannons. Then for The Evil Within if they cheated and just gave me a vortex tunnel and a bunch of cool scenes and monsters I could be happy and sold, I mean of course I would love more but feel that is all I could expect.
  19. Wait, what tweets? Also I agree with the comment about not wanting Stranger Things as a house. I don't see it translating well into a house. Especially after experiencing Ash vs Evil Dead from both coasts and neither I feel living up to the potential, it was easily my highest anticipated house by a mile and was sorely disappointed. Stranger Things which I feel has a lot less to work with house wise would probably be a huge mis-fire. I agree also with the "Classic Horror" trend of the Exorcist and Shining, that we will have another next year. What? Idk. The Silence of the Lambs comment sounds fine and possible but we will def have one more classic. Blumhouse Halloween if it is on schedule and comes out October next year then I can see it being next year especially after houses like Dracula Untold, because it is kinda a locked in money maker. Krampus was a surprise hit and post-October so thus the following year of it being at HHN. I've always been a huge horror video game promoter even after the lukewarm Silent Hill and Resident Evil at HHN. Particularly petitioning for The Evil Within, The Last of Us, and Bioshock to name a few. However! After HHN not being able to live up to AvED which I feel hits the same ball park of fantasy that the games go for I might be backing down on that demand a bit until I feel they can tackle the huge fantasy demands that video game horror gives. Also while I may not have ever been B&T's biggest supporter I do agree that unless they figure out an appropriate replacement it will be sorely missed and a huge gap missing in the event. Magic shows in the past like 50 penny (or whatever it was called) simply won't do and I have moved passed needing Rocky Horror at HHN. It will be really interesting how that hole is tackled and like I said never been B&T's biggest fan but truly understand its purpose in the event.

    It's Complicated

I attended the week of 10/25-10/31 and after spending the weekend prior at this year's disappointing Hollywood HHN coming to Orlando HHN was a huge breath of fresh air. The wonderful feeling of HHN was there, the houses absolutely gorgeous and immaculately detailed, felt everything was managed well when I was there, wasn't terribly rushed through the houses, such an amazing year....yet had a lot of deja vu and almost dare I say it bored...The first night I attended with my usual friends and we've been attending HHN for years, about a decade for me (HHN 18 being my first) and even though everything was working it didn't??? I know that doesn't make sense thus the title of "It's Complicated" but everything felt like I've seen it before. The lightning scene in Scarecrow all I was thinking was the time I saw it in the Walking Dead, the Santa mirror gag in AHS seeing it in Jack's 25 with the Caretaker, the stilted vampire in Hive seeing it in Tomb of the Ancients, the maze of mirrors in Shining saw it in Freddy vs Jason, and other similar tricks utilized before. I was blind of all the awesomeness by the been there done that. Then the second night happened which my boyfriend started attending and he has never been to HHN before and I began seeing everything through his eyes again. The tricks all worked wonderfully, everything was fresh again. The barker on the Purge bus was hilarious again, the obvious spots of where actors hide became hidden again, and just everything worked because I had the fresh eyes with me. I fell in love with the event all over again but throughout the remainder of the event I was always wondering what would have happened if I didn't have my boyfriend come? It's complicated....and makes me truly wonder how and where the event will truly evolve onward. Not even in a IP vs original or do we have an icon manner just staying fresh. I had the wonderful privilege of attending Knott's Scary Farm and something about the houses feels fresh to me in a way HHN didn't. I still have every intention of attending HHN Orlando for many more years and don't get me wrong still had tons of fun even the first night and truly no one can do what HHN Orlando does, it is one of the best events. Especially this year the houses was probably one of the strongest line ups in a long time with all of them being similar in quality. Also I understand there are only so many ways to scare people in the capacity of the conga line and maybe I am being to harsh but just saying my thoughts. I guess 9 years of HHN there is bound to be deja vu but I want to see how this amazing event that I love and care for so deeply can avoid it. Seriously once my boyfriend arrived and he got the scares so well and the environments immersed him so I was able to see again and it was one of the strongest years ever. Don't need to give the houses a numerical or alphabetical rating as I already said they were all great and that was one of the beauties of this year was I was constantly changing my ranking of the houses in my head. The only consistent ranking I had was Hive was always the worst for both me and my boyfriend easily. It was weak. Anyways that should be enough to start a discussion if anyone would like for now and can discuss more from there. Let me know what you all think.
  21. Just got home from my vacation to the event and this is where I came first was to check on the music! But totally understand, it was so wonderful having you do all the past ones for us! I listen to them a lot more than I probably should haha! Thank you thank you for all your hard work!
