  1. Kudos to those in the know and giving us clues so perfectly this year however I think since the line-up seems so sure at this point I think it would be kinda fun if they managed to throw something in totally from nowhere just to be a total surprise lol. Obviously not much more news for speculation has come in but we are basically 99.9% sure that Geishas are out and an expanded Purge is in with the auction filling Sting Alley?
  2. Yeah I am also concerned with the way the descriptions are that the focus will be much heavier on the Alien side than the Predator. But I can foresee a similar layout to AWIL were the Xenomorphs will be the puppets were the Werewolves were then have some muscle guys in Predator outfits and some bloody humans crying out in pain and etc inbetween the puppets. Although I feel there should be one awesome finale scene with a Predator and Xenomorph/Queen fighting each other. Idk so much to ponder and hope for in this house. It will be very interesting to see what the final result is, just hope it isn't a missed opportunity, I mean puppets we hope and assume it is on AWIL status but don't forget that the Lickers and Dogs in Resident Evil are "puppets" too and those were a missed opportunity. However I have faith and assume it will be stellar.
  3. I saw Anarchy today, wanted to wait till the announcement to see it lol, and the movie is full of sz/street experience potential and opportunities. As soon as I saw the school bus in the movie I knew we would get that and just add some chainsaw guys or other big guys around it and you are done, check. Also I was thinking about the walker bomb truck as well and I agree that it should be with the motorcycles and part of the masked gang group. Def need to find a truck for the machine gun guy. Also the hunting grounds for rich looked very similar to the park in front of the Mummy. I mean so much looked made and primed for HHN and New York. Not really a horror movie in my book (never saw the first) def more action oriented with a few horror elements to it maybe but regardless the movie is perfect for HHN and I agree I think this should translate really well into the streets. I think the siren and some music is really all they need. Sorry to regurgitate some things already said but I will anyways lol.
  4. I'm missing it ... what auction? what comment? I just really want to see the Geisha zone come to life this year so I am hoping and looking for any way to debunk the idea of them being removed.
  5. I hope the Geishas are still in 'cause I've been dying for an Asian themed sz/house for a while so I hope it hangs in there!
  6. I'm very curious about this one and have a lot of questions. I am sure it will be amazing but since this show is about make-up I feel the make-ups need to be really on point in this area. While some of the make-ups in the show could take more time to properly execute .... point I am trying to make is that I hope they don't rely on making a bunch of Lady Luck-esque masks for some of these over the top make-ups, like the alligator highlighted in the video, and really put some artists to the test and make this zone as strong as it can be.
  7. Ok cool thanks for the update! I think then I am mostly caught up, thanks for the assist! Bioshock would be cool and def popular enough, thanks to Infinite, to grab crowds but if it isn't happening well ... then guess we shall see!
  8. Sorry one more question, since I haven't gone through all 109 pages, there hasn't been anything to hint towards another video game based house this year has there? As a video gamer I would love to see the trend of going through the video game library continue, despite how well Silent Hill and Resident Evil may have been received so I am just hopeful. If not then ok and will see when the reveals happen and if there isn't then there isn't ... and I guess if Alien works out then that could technically count towards the video game trend and satisfy me.
  9. Woo-hoo! Information is starting to creep it's way in! But fill me in, why are so many members sold on Halloween and Aliens being in this year? Not against just I am curious why? Also pardon my ignorance but can Universal use Aliens? I mean since Disney has it in the Studio's Great Movie Ride, does Disney have any rights tied up that Uni can't use them? That was the thought that went into my head... Also I mean I know TWD has been such a strong voice, to put it lightly, the past two years in HHN but why would everyone be so okay with Halloween? Just curious! Not hating, love Halloween. Just since it has also been done at HHN before ... why not try something new in the genre if we are talking about over usage of certain IPs at HHN. I mean some lesser known IPs but still popular could greatly be used for HHN like Battle Royale could be fun, old enough to be a classic, has a following, foreign so it shows diversity in HHN and got a recent boost in popularity with it being similar to The Hunger Games just the Horror version and now on Netflix ... idk, if we are petitioning for new IPs why not really ask for a new IP?
  10. Yes I agree the La Llorona underwater and mirror scare was always really intense and effective for me, no matter how many times I went through that house I still would be freaked out in that part. Still am glad we didn't get Hollywood puppets as that really didn't make any sense to me at least in the realm of the legend, some giant La Llorona. American Werewolf had some amazing actors. I was sad to say the wolves themselves never really terrified me but more just amazed me as a wonderfully crafted puppet. I just loved seeing them and never really had a sense of fear when I saw them. However the actors through the house were great and I loved the Nazi wolves and the guys in the theater, ah they were all great. Except this house had one of the most annoying scares of the year for me, the police officer. His whistle was just to dang loud, every time I would go by I would cover my ears as I thought I was going deaf by this guy. But besides this the house was a beautiful blend of amazement and scary. Cabin, Evil Dead, and Resident Evil.... *sigh* what a fun year, it is fun to look back and think about it. Even if the streets and Afterlife (to me) was a bust all the other houses were just so dang strong and wonderful it was really great.
  11. I know I already said my piece but was watching YouTube events of the past with actual scarezones and man I do hope they return...
  12. Dream line-up? I want an Icon and my dream icon is a creepy Asian mystic thing up in the mountains, that would be awesome to me. It is something I feel like hasn't been done that much before and especially not in HHN. Houses: -Icon House, and if I get my icon I would love it to be in the Himalayan Mountains or whatever and the mystic Asian feel. -Video Game House, this year have it be Devil May Cry/DMC (as a gamer the idea of video game houses is awesome to me and something I can get behind) -Urban Legend House, if it matches the amazing La Llorona in story and creep factor then I am all there -Originals, Gothic, Nightingales, Winter's Night, Dead Exposure sequel or something of this nature -Outer Space, nothing is quite like the great vastness of space and the unknowns it can bring -NO TWD, as much as I enjoy the show it has over stayed its welcome at HHN and now it must sashay away, and nothing else on TV is inspiring enough to me to become an HHN house. If people want a house based off Horror Story just for the Voodoo then I want HHN to come up with their own Voodoo House and I think they should as HOS Death Water Bayou was fabulous and I want HHN to take a stab at the Voodoo doll -Banshee/La Llorona-esque house, I love creepy ass women and they can't repeat La Llorona but I want another female strong house -IPs, there aren't any movie IPs that I am dying to see (that I can think off the top of my head, although I want video game IPs) but there is some that I probably haven't thought of that I would probably love SCAREZONES!!!! I want diverse zones with much more actors and littered through the entire park. This year was way to weak on the streets and need way more throughout the entire park, it felt way to empty and sad.
  13. This is probably the greatest review ever haha loved it! Thank you!
  14. As far as general wishful thinking as the whole event goes I want an icon and backstory that we can cling on to. I know some were disappointed with the Lady Luck and Fear's depth and backstory however they had enough of one that I would personally be fine with one that had even that much depth doesn't need to be Bloody Mary deep. That is one I would love and the second is a big hit in scare zones. Who knew after all the complaining about the Legions we could go even lower with TWD scarezones? Lol! The actors and design of what was there was great but to far and few inbetween and the lack of diversity really killed it for me. So even if we can't go back to 21 and before type streets I do want diversity at the very least and to cover way more ground. It felt like 3/4 of the park was not being utilized for street material. Those are the two things I feel like I want to almost even demand of Universal. Usually over the years I have been a huge advocate of original houses however this year really turned me around and now I am conflicted. I loved La Llorona, it was fantastic and was almost my HOTY but eventually I turned to CITW and gave LL 2nd place and AWIL 3rd. However Havoc (despite fantastic actors who gave me wonderful personal attention) and Afterlife were clearly the worst this year and now I don't know what to think. I agree with the others and think a 4/4 ratio would be preferable however I am not as hesitant towards IPs as I was before.
  15. Fair enough cause no one can deny the amazing facade and some of the rooms. But true about the recycled props, like one of the statues in there was from Gothic last year and that is all I can see when I walk by it is think. "Hey! That was from Gothic!"
  16. To each their own, but I find it very beautiful and the design is spot on for me!
  17. I love love love this house! It just gives me everything I want in an HHN house. I know some were disappointed in the lack of Hollywood puppets but I personally am glad of the withdrawal of them and the actors are always on point! When we get to the underwater part in the white tunnel and the blue part the actors always come to get me and it is great. Sorry I love AWiL but this to me is my HOTY, which Cabin in second and AWIL in third and it pains me to say that but that is the way it is for me right now.
  18. *Change in order 10/31 Didn't have an anticipated list. After visiting: 1) Cabin In The Woods 2) La Llorona 3) American Werewolf 4) Evil Dead 5) Resident Evil 6) The Walking Dead 7) Havoc 8) Afterlife
  19. I love this idea. The Asian-culture and architecture themed house is something I have wanted HHN to do for a long time and Fatal Frame is the perfect set up for it. I hope in a near event they finally decide to do a house Asian inspired and not just a The Ring ghost house but a real Asian feel. Great idea!
  20. But I do hope that the number of IPs is cut back and originality is more of a priority and an overall story and icon is what got me going in the first place so I do hope it returns. I am just saying that IPs aren't bad and some are actually really fun and exciting to think about just hope it doesn't take over like TWD and such.
  21. I am more into the original houses no question however to ask the point of why to create a house based off an IP seems flawed. If nothing else there is an audience that would love to physically step into that world and interact with those characters or environments. I mean even not in HHN form that is a big part of what Universal and Disney does, base attractions off successful IPs. Also if there is a property that you really like then why not go and fan boy/girl all about it and be excited that a vision you really enjoy is being brought to life in some form? But obviously IPs aren't going away, even in my favorite year (and a great deal to others as well) 18/Bloody Mary which was probably one of the most creative years had an IP house and had SZs and Houses that had characters from franchises such as Alice, Wizard of Oz, and Princesses. So even if you can't stomach the thought of another IP house it would still be good to try and direct them (if they see this) or at the very least hope for an IP that you would like to see.
  22. The 24th both tours and doing it solo
  23. Hmmm interesting idea. I agree with Reaper as much as I love the show it doesn't translate into HHN material well, or is at least to predominate in the event. Yeah I am dying for an original icon again although I don't want it to be Jack but whatever happens in 24 is a shake up to the formula that 22 and 23 have had as far as streets and atmosphere in the park.
  24. Yeah that is true but it would be a rockin' house. Haven't been to HHN yet this year but from what I have heard is that RE's Nemesis is a bit on the small side so that does have me concerned for some of the larger iconic creatures of not only Dead Space but all video games since some are so huge.
