Orion really trying to make sure people like that film lmao, I mean Mark Hamill definitely is filling some big shoes but after seeing the man putting some good impressions especially for The Joker, I'd definitely give the film the watch, it could probably change my mind but I'm not quite sure.

Mark Hamill doesn’t do impressions. He does voices. He IS the Joker, and has been since the 90s.

How is Chucky overused? Hasn't he only been at Orlando like twice?

Ive heard that this year might be mostly rehash from last year.

Jesus, I know that might sound horrible but it might not be bad as we thought. (Hopefully)

My Spidey Senses tells me that surprise that Murdy mentioned means he is gonna throw us a really fun and unexpected curve ball. A property that know one has mentioned yet.

A part of me wants it to be a Video game Property but that sounds so silly saying that out loud. Hopefully this doesn't happen, but it would suck if that property is exclusive to Hollywood.

Im gonna go sit in a corner and wait for them to announce an Original now XD

This year isn't shaping up to be rehashes. I expect at least 3 IPs to be brand new to Orlando.

And yes, there's likely a couple of drastic curve balls in there.

HHN Hollywood Twitter said we might wanna check in on Monsterpalooza on April 14th... 2nd house announcement for another shared-IP?

We should get something before then.

Just curious but what causes announcements to be delayed?

    10 hours ago, HorrorUnearthed said:

Usually I think it's rights for example The Conjuring and Scream being pulled and having to cancel the announcements and make an entirely new one to replace it and not only that but fixing the construction to suit the replacing houses.

This year, the delays were the result of Universal’s desire to not get toes stepped on. Universal (and Disney) have announced a good bit the last month. HHN would’ve gotten lost in the media covering everything else. They’re waiting for a theme park news lull.

Well Orlando has been very silent and Hollywood is the only one talking you know, they are gonna probably be talking about the potential scarezones or hints and maybe a sneak peak to something. Stranger Things 2 does stick out the most. After all the craze with the trailer coming out for season 3, I wouldn't doubt it having Universal locked on bringing the show back next year for Season 3.

That’s normal. Orlando’s social media doesn’t get active until April/May.

Regarding US, I know I've said it before, but it must be said again. I don't see this working very well in HHN's environment, as the core element of Us is well, hard to replicate. The core element (and fear) of Us, is doppelgangers. Someone that looks like you is trying to kill you. An since you can't feasibly make the scareactors look like yourself, you as a guest are taken out of that completely. So a house or scarezone would mainly be "victim scares", and that's never been exciting as house. (Now with F13, it makes sense that Jason could look over at you and go "Oh hey, more for the count!")

On top of that, there's the issue of casting. So you have to cast multiple people to portray both the regular humans AND their Tethered versions...and that's just one cast. You have to cast another set of all those look alikes for cast B. That alone should kill any chance this is brought to the event, and let's face it, the main cast is African-American, whom isn't in large abundance in the event...let alone one's who can look like Lupita Nyong'o and Winston Duke.

The only way I can see them attempting this is using masks, but that would just cheapen things entirely and it wouldn't be satisfying.

I know Us is a good horror film, but there are just some concepts which don't translate well in a haunt environment.

You’ve either read my arguments elsewhere, or have the same opinion on this as me.

Catacombs: Into the Black - Focuses on the plague stricken town of Cary and ends  with the entombing of the Doctors

    Sequel

Hell High: Class Reunion - The survivors return to revisit sad memories, unaware that a new masked killer stalks.

    Mashup

Afterlife: Dark Torment - Two houses, thematically connected. It's a 3D view of what awaits you in death.

They need protection gloves. They refused and yelled at the chainsaw folks last year for getting their own gloves.

And, again. Are the gloves in costume? That’s Universal’s concern. They’ve given gloves for copious saws in the past because it fit the costume.

Universal has gloves. Buying 40 pairs is nothing to them if they think it’s necessary. It’s not a budget thing.

”Chainsaw gloves” are meant for protecting your hands from the chain. If there’s no chain, the gloves aren’t “needed.” Sure, it can cause blisters, but that’s what callouses are for.

Shoot they won't give the Chainsaw people gloves to protect their hands.

Are the gloves “in costume?” If so, the chainsaws will wear them.

So is Shrek and/or the new parade building being used?

New Parade, yes. Shrek should be if nothing changes.

    Not a bungee. It's a flyer.

A flyer that was actually sub-contracted out because it was an extremely expensive stunt.

That's why they haven't been used since.

EDIT - A "bungee" drops from a platform and hits the ground, before being pulled back up. Fliers never touch the ground.

I just want more Bungee scares that is more interaction with guest.. I.e Knott's like.
Orlando Focuses more on stilts than Bungees, which is cool.  For the reason, you can work 45 mins on stilts and bungees are 30 mins, need more active actors for Bungees.
Once, when I was scaring in the face off scarezone, I accident misstepped during  raining night and did a slide move on my knee thankfully no injuries but it was different and got some great scares.
I was Red Beard Butler.. Next to scarecrows and Pirates.
I think a change of streets is needed, if we had sliders in new york it would work since new york is big enough.  But only have sliders the 1st 2 sets and then regular scare after that.

Sliders scare the shit out of me.  it's one of the reasons we include Howl O Scream in our travel each season (plus, it's a fun change of pace).  HOS is also very good about including bungees in their houses AND in the street (which scares the shit out of me every single time).  I'd love to see more bungees at HHN.  I just don't know if they could pull off sliders.. it really is too damn crowded.  Although, you could be right - in NY, they could pull it off - especially if sliders were active maybe up the "side "streets" like the one next to Finnegan's, or if they clustered near Louie's pizza

Bungees aren’t used in the streets because of space. A single bungee set requires about 100 sq ft (8’x12’) for platform and landing. That’s a lot of space for one performer doing a quick scare. With crowds the way they are now, a stage the same size is far more cost effective.

Sliders are about more than space (though that is factor). One, it’s an extremely dangerous scare. Two, it tears up the asphalt, and Universal doesn’t want to pay to resurface it.

Another lame AoV show.  On a stage.  With a seated and disengaged audience.  Great.

AoV: Cyberpunk received the highest GSATs for a show in HHN history. It beat out every Bill and Ted. So, enough of the audience liked it for that to happen.

    And on King:

King has no rights usage approval authority for Kubrick’s Shining. WB can do what they want with it. King DOES retain that authority for stuff since - IT especially. Using any new movies for a haunt requires King’s approval.

That hurts Universal. When The Shining leaked, King tried to stop it. Universal had already bought the rights, was building the house, and hinged elements of their marketing on the IP. So, Universal did the legal compromise of not referencing King.

    And compromises leave nobody happy.

So, where King LIKES what WB is doing with his stories on screen (and so trusts them), he doesn’t like how Universal used a loophole to get something he never would have approved otherwise.

I don't think that you understand how long it took for stranger things to get on the line up for hhn?
like they drop two seasons. like 4 years ago , so like 3 years of will they or won't they.

Season 1 was released July 2016. The haunt was announced April 2018.

    Less than 2 years.

EDIT - More specifically, it means Universal reached out to Netflix, at the latest, 16 months after the show's debut (November 2017) and as early as 12 months (July 2017). For reference, season 2 was released late October 2017.

For reference, TWD debuted in Oct 2010. The first house was announced May 2012.

    Same timeline.
