  1. This reads like a fan-made event and not actual speculation.
  2. Stranger Things is the only house I've gotten 100% confirmed this year.
  3. They're not doing a Firefly house with Mal, and Wash, and Reavers, no.
  4. Mark Hamill doesn’t do impressions. He does voices. He IS the Joker, and has been since the 90s.
  5. Sounds like we can strike Blumhouse from the event for the time being.
  6. This year isn't shaping up to be rehashes. I expect at least 3 IPs to be brand new to Orlando. And yes, there's likely a couple of drastic curve balls in there. We should get something before then.
  7. How intentional was that “Vol?” I was answering for past delays. I see no reason for the current schedule to get delayed.
  8. They've had the first HHN house scheduled for announcement, but decided in the last 48 hours to push it back. That's how it's been delayed.
  9. This year, the delays were the result of Universal’s desire to not get toes stepped on. Universal (and Disney) have announced a good bit the last month. HHN would’ve gotten lost in the media covering everything else. They’re waiting for a theme park news lull.
  10. For what it’s worth, the first announcement has been delayed at least once, and I’ve heard twice.
  11. That’s normal. Orlando’s social media doesn’t get active until April/May. You’ve either read my arguments elsewhere, or have the same opinion on this as me.
  12. Prequel Catacombs: Into the Black - Focuses on the plague stricken town of Cary and ends with the entombing of the Doctors Sequel Hell High: Class Reunion - The survivors return to revisit sad memories, unaware that a new masked killer stalks. Mashup Afterlife: Dark Torment - Two houses, thematically connected. It's a 3D view of what awaits you in death.
  13. And, again. Are the gloves in costume? That’s Universal’s concern. They’ve given gloves for copious saws in the past because it fit the costume. Universal has gloves. Buying 40 pairs is nothing to them if they think it’s necessary. It’s not a budget thing. ”Chainsaw gloves” are meant for protecting your hands from the chain. If there’s no chain, the gloves aren’t “needed.” Sure, it can cause blisters, but that’s what callouses are for.
  14. Are the gloves “in costume?” If so, the chainsaws will wear them. New Parade, yes. Shrek should be if nothing changes.
  15. Not a bungee. It's a flyer. A flyer that was actually sub-contracted out because it was an extremely expensive stunt. That's why they haven't been used since. EDIT - A "bungee" drops from a platform and hits the ground, before being pulled back up. Fliers never touch the ground.
  16. Bungees aren’t used in the streets because of space. A single bungee set requires about 100 sq ft (8’x12’) for platform and landing. That’s a lot of space for one performer doing a quick scare. With crowds the way they are now, a stage the same size is far more cost effective. Sliders are about more than space (though that is factor). One, it’s an extremely dangerous scare. Two, it tears up the asphalt, and Universal doesn’t want to pay to resurface it.
  17. AoV: Cyberpunk received the highest GSATs for a show in HHN history. It beat out every Bill and Ted. So, enough of the audience liked it for that to happen. And on King: King has no rights usage approval authority for Kubrick’s Shining. WB can do what they want with it. King DOES retain that authority for stuff since - IT especially. Using any new movies for a haunt requires King’s approval. That hurts Universal. When The Shining leaked, King tried to stop it. Universal had already bought the rights, was building the house, and hinged elements of their marketing on the IP. So, Universal did the legal compromise of not referencing King. And compromises leave nobody happy. So, where King LIKES what WB is doing with his stories on screen (and so trusts them), he doesn’t like how Universal used a loophole to get something he never would have approved otherwise.
  18. You mean when cell phones were the size of a briefcase and didn't have cameras in them?
  19. Season 1 was released July 2016. The haunt was announced April 2018. Less than 2 years. EDIT - More specifically, it means Universal reached out to Netflix, at the latest, 16 months after the show's debut (November 2017) and as early as 12 months (July 2017). For reference, season 2 was released late October 2017. For reference, TWD debuted in Oct 2010. The first house was announced May 2012. Same timeline.
