  1. I believe this is why Universal did this. Having Bill and Ted "sneak" into a House was basically a shot at all the ones who try it each year. If Universal continues this trend, I guess they hope less people will try it themselves.
  2. Here is an idea. Keep the pumpkins in the trees, and have Field of Screams/Harvest of the Souls as the Scare Zone. That would be pretty wicked.
  3. I hope Sting Alley is used in some capacity, either standalone or part of another Scare Zone like Deadtropolis was. It's just a neat little area to walk through with some nice places to hide as a Scare Actor.
  4. I agree, the Pumpkins were nice in 2008, in 2009 it was old already after the first couple nights going. I rather see a good Scare Zone in Central Park along the lines of Harvest of Souls or Troupe Macabre.
  5. It comes from the surveys and rumors. Some are saying 10 Houses and 10 Scare Zones (20). Let's start some Show speculation here. The rumor last year for RHPS was that it was on it's last year of a 3 year deal, so it should be gone this year unless they renew it. Now some are saying that B&T will be gone this year, which I doubt right now as it has been part of HHN since 1992. So to not have it be part of the 20th Anniversary would be a shame!, if there are plans to get rid of B&T, I say start something new for HHN 21. I also hope for some sort of Main Stage show, either on the Bowl Stage or the Temporary Stage. A "History of HHN" 360 show would be great also to break up the crowd and lines a little.
  6. If you look at the picture closely, you'll see there is plenty of areas for queue lines. They got the side of the SS's and the back of the SS's to setup a long queue line. They could even extend into the old Field of Screams path if needed. With Universal even thinking about 10 houses, I'm sure they have the queue issues all figured out. IMO, I still rather have only 8 Houses though, unless they have a LARGE budget for this year.
  7. For everyone wanting to know about possible Sound Stage and Queue Line locations, I created this map. It's Universal's Sound Stage layout overlayed onto the satellite image along with a list of Houses that have been in the Sound Stages in recent years. The only House I didn't include was "Where Evil Hides (2005)" which was in Sound Stage 18, which we know can't be used anymore due to it housing the Blue Man Group now. The Queue Lines consist of areas used recently and in previous years.
  8. All possible locations that could be used. 2 in SS #20 1 in SS #22 2 in SS #23 2 in SS #24 1 in Nazaarman's w/ Sting Alley 1 in Disaster Queue 1 in JAWS Queue 2 in Sprung Tents 2 in Parade Building 1 in Herc/Xena if it ever gets redone. That's 15 total just in that list. Even if you take away the unknown's, SS #24 (2), Herc/Xena (1), and half the Parade Building (1), that leaves us with 11 locations, take out Naz's (1) and you have your 10 locations for HHN 20.
  9. I believe each year they are pretty much the same, just some color changes. It's basically just a Rum Punch. We never bought the specialty drink last year, we just went with VODKA drinks, and some Patron shots! I wonder what they will call the drink this year, though.
  10. That is one impressive list, great ideas. I'd like to see something like that rather than a "reboot" so to speak of the older named houses.
  11. Are we supposed to guess what this is? I have no idea, but it looks great!
  12. Two parks if done right would be OK, I didn't like it in 2004 all that much. There was way to much empty space and a lot of walking to and from each park. The parade didn't help with traffic getting between parks either. I don't think IOA can handle the crowds HHN gets now, but I agree with you on IOA having the ambiance. I just wonder if HP can even be used for HHN, it would be nice. I say use the Studios for HHN, and then IOA as a Kids event to compete with Disney and Sea World. Between Marvel, Seuss, and HP.. Kids would eat it up.
  13. It's not official, just what I came up with based on previous years. If it didn't start till the first weekend in October we would only have 19 nights (since opening weekend don't include a Sunday), 20 nights if they end it on a Sunday for Halloween, which in recent memory I don't remember a HHN ending on a Sunday. We need Halloween though!
  14. I posted about predicted dates in the speculation thread, which you can now read above as the first post.
  15. Thanks. We take pride in the site, as we are fans ourselves and enjoy discussing it with other fans. As much as I'd love to see all the Houses and SZ's flow together like 15 and 18, I think we all pretty much seem to agree it will be a "best of" year, so let's not forget the Scare Zones. If they were to bring some back, what would you like to see? The first couple that come to mind for me are Field of Screams and Deadtropolis. I'd like to see what you all have for a House and Scare Zone wish list.
  16. I have plenty of footage from HHN 17. Some of which you can see here; http://www.youtube.com/mzjc. I also have Various nights of Jack's Carnival of Carnage Show and the RHPS: Tribute which isn't on YouTube.
  17. Some news from Facebook. 2010 marks the 13th Anniversary of the release of Midnight Syndicate’s self-titled debut CD. As a way of saying “thank you,” Midnight Syndicate will be giving away free CDs and autographed merchandise every week in addition to hosting a video contest where fans can make their own silent film to a Midnight Syndicate track and win prizes including a chance to have their video appear on The Dead Matter DVD (coming July 30th). See below for more details! Here are just a few of the many things coming this year: * A new Midnight Syndicate website (late February) * New The Dead Matter movie trailers and an new, interactive TDM website (March) * The Dead Matter movie AND soundtrack by Midnight Syndicate (July 30th) * “Lost” interviews, photos, and unreleased tracks from the past 13 years (all year)
  18. Midnight Syndicate has released a email stating that 2010 will be their biggist year yet and to expect some major announcements this weekend. Some thoughts/rumors are anything from a new CD, to performing live at Halloween Horror Nights 20.
  19. Although I'd like to see Cindy host the event alone, or maybe just with the Caretaker for the 'support', I think were going to see all of them AGAIN. Just like Sweet 16. I really hope they don't make Jack the Icon/Host, again. House count, 8 or 10? I say keep 8. If they go the Icon house route you will have; 1. Scream House (Caretaker/Cindy) 2. All Nite Die-In (Director, maybe Usher too?) (Maybe featuring all the "new" NLC characters, Jason, Freddy, Leatherface) 3. Reflections of Fear (Bloody Mary) Jack is iffy, you can do 1: Psychoscareapy, or 2: a "Fun House" type house, I'd opt for 1. 4: Psychoscarepy (Jack?) Storyteller? Blah.. both her houses sucked IMO, Where Evil Hides and Dungeon of Terror. Maybe something completely new for her, HHN History? 5. Storyteller House That leaves us with 3 more houses to fill out to 8. Returns or all new? If I had to guess, I'd say returns for a 'best of' type thing. We just had a Body Collectors and a Scary Tales, will they do them again? We have a few options here. 6. Body Collectors? 7. Scary Tales? 8. The Thing? I'd like to see some others that haven't gotten the "remake" treatment yet that were pretty good. 6. Demon Cantina 7. Hellgate Prison 8. The Skool (Mix of the original house and 18's Scare Zone) Now this totally disregards HHN 1-10, which don't seem right for a 20th Anniversary. However, how many people remember or even went to HHN 1-10 that go to it now? Probably not that many. How many houses in 1-10 were actually great for the people that did go? I have no idea. Maybe a couple? Please no People Under the Stairs, Psycho, or a Dungeon of Terror, which at 16 felt like I was at a fair. So my wish list is as follows; 1. Scream House (Caretaker/Cindy) 2. All Nite Die-In (Director/Usher) (Featuring the Big 3) 3. Psychoscareapy (Jack) 4. Reflections of Fear (Bloody Mary) 5. Storyteller House (HHN History type house?) 6. Demon Cantina 7. Hellgate Prison 8. The Skool
  20. Here are 2010's speculated dates. Sep 24 (Friday), 25 (Saturday) - Opening Weekend Sep 30 (Thursday) Oct 1 (Friday), 2 (Saturday), 3 (Sunday) Oct 7 (Thursday), 8 (Friday), 9 (Saturday), 10 (Sunday) Oct 14 (Thursday), 15 (Friday), 16 (Saturday), 17 (Sunday) Oct 20 (Wednesday), 21 (Thursday), 22 (Friday), 23 (Saturday), 24 (Sunday) - Hell Week? Oct 27 (Wednesday), 28 (Thursday), 29 (Friday), 30 (Saturday) That will be 23 nights, same as last year. Will they add Halloween which is a Sunday, for the last day?
  21. Now that it's officially 2010, the year of Halloween Horror Nights 20 aka The 20th Anniversary, it's time to start some speculation about the event. Keep it mature, and on topic.
  22. Cindy all the way, so much so.. I made this. Universal.. MAKE IT HAPPEN!
  23. Yes, it's true. Until JMR wants to publicly make a statement I'll refrain from posting anything about it here. I do however wish him the best of luck in whatever he does next. He's a great talent and HHN and the fans will miss him.
  24. Bumping this up, as I finally had time to finish my final HHN 19 review.
