Eyegore Awards

So for those that are curious about what this event is like, I thought I'd give you a little rundown of what goes on.

The Experience- The worst part was standing in line, the sun was just piercing my flesh. As I got closer to the front to get my pass I started thinking "There's no way they're letting my ass into this thi event. I'm going to get to the front and they're going to say 'Halloween Blues? Never heard of it.'" To my relief though, not only was I let in, but I also had my own my little sign showing me where to stand on the red carpet and even though a 100 people stepped on it, I still picked it up and took it home with me. They also give me a USB drive, two Vampyre comics (which I might give away to the curious who didn't get one) and a fact sheet of the celebrities attending. I also got my Press Pass badge which sent me to the front of the line for all the mazes.

The red carpet events were rather fun, there were quite a few big horror icons who were gladly giving out interviews, I didn't snag any this time around.

Inside the event, they had a spectacular little set up for the award show hosts and winners. Corey Feldman was presenting and I don't know if this dude is just one of those "naturally high" kind of guys, but he seemed like he was tripping.

Universal made the mistake of giving out free alcohol and sandwiches, which I heavily partook of. It was like Christmas morning, I was in disbelief that they were having an open bar and the food wsa so amazing, I could've eaten those sandwiches all day long. Not to mention the dessert which was these fantastic little bakery treats. God, I'm drooling just thinking about them again. :(

Fan Boy Moments- To say the least, I had a few awesome geek moments. For one, I got to meet Patrick Fabian (star of the Last Exorcism) and despite being a little buzz from all the Vodka, was able to communicate how much I loved his movie and his acting ability. The dude was a class act though, he took a picture with me and talked with everyone that approached him. Real cool guy, hope he gets more roles.

Then I got to stand right next to Derek Mears (Jason Voorhees) throughout the Award show and as we watched the Film Contest entries. Which is a fucking trip to be watching a scary movie with Jason standing next to you.

Later on I saw Derek and Tyler Mane chatting and having fun together and it dawned on me that Micheal Myers and Jason Voorhees were best buddies. We're all screwed.

My photographer was wandering the Award show and ran into Eli Roth, literally. She's such a fan girl of him that she was in shock all night.

After the Award show I jumped on the King Kong Tram and realized I was sitting next to Christopher Lloyd. I could've died right then and there.

The Awards- The Award show was kind of a weird mix. Some of the awards seemed like they were given out at random, like I really couldn't tell why some people were being honored. However, the most deserved were Sid Haig and Christopher Lloyd. I think Christopher might have been hitting the free bar as much as I was cause he was either depressed or drunk. He just seemed rather off that night, but then again, maybe that's the way he usually is. It's not like I know they guy lol. The weirdest part was when he tried to give the award back.

Rob Zombie had a couple of great quotes- *After everyone cheered for House of a 1000 Corpses* "Oh, yeah right, now you guys love that movie."

"I got escorted off the Universal Studios lot for making that movie (HOTC) and now there's a fucking maze here. Funny how that works."

Sid Haig also had some great things to say and possibly had the best acceptance speech: "I want to thank everyone that helped me, but especially everyone that didn't help me, because you really pissed me off. You also made me work harder though, and hard work always pays off."

I'll post pictures as soon as my camerawoman sends them to me.

Yup, I saw Murdy twice. Once on the Red Carpet, he was standing like a foot away from me talking to a reporter next to me and I was up next, but unfortunately he had to cut and run, which I totally understand.

Second time he was standing right behind me at the Eyegores going over a script with someone.

Haha and possibly, trying to figure out how I should give them out. :P
