  1. It's there to stop people from trying to climb the scaffolding/framework. They put it over the ladders too.
  2. I think the black tarp is there to stop people from trying to climb it. If you notice, the bottoms of the ladders are covered too.
  3. I feel like the Bat mask is for the streets, for some reason.
  4. Any chance it might be a house based around Gothic Literature, rather than Poe specifically?
  5. I think it's Saws n' Steam, actually. ignoring the ropes, the background looks like it could be pipes... and the card for the Saws n' Steam game is also red. Also, excluding the glowing eyes, the corpse looks more dehydrated than anything. Unless, of course, the card is actually orange... it's hard to tell. It's probably either the pirate house or Saws n Steam.
  6. I wonder if Macho Man Randy Savage will make an appearance.
  7. I'm expecting something more along the lines of a "which one is real" type thing. They've done it before, in Jack's house in 2007 and I'm pretty sure before that, where there's several heads "floating" but one or two of them are actually scareactors wearing a black jumpsuit and a mask.
  8. Actually, looking at them, they seem to be hung from strings. And sprung 1 does have a floating head...
  9. Not necessarily... remember Dracula? By a few weeks in, there were holes punched in the facade. And that was in pretty much the most wide-open and brightly lit part of the house, in full view of both other guests and employees. In other speculation, the newest pic uploaded to twitter seems to indicate something demon-themed this year. I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's something related to Sprung 1, since there's a "floating head" cast there, and I seem to recall there being speculation of some sort of demonic/cult house there.
  10. Probably not, but they both have a scareactor named "Francisco".
  11. Hmm. So we have two "Francisco" scareactors. I wonder if the scarezone will tie in with the Parade Building house, or if there's no connection beyond the names.
  12. I think they still use them from time to time. I know they used them in 2004 in Fright Yard, and I think I've seen them since then too. I do miss them using the entirety of New York Streets as a scarezone... 2006's Deadtropolis was epic.
  13. Just think of it like the game industry, with the relationship between Developers and Publishers.
  14. Dreamworks is developing it. It's being distributed by Touchstone, which is owned by Disney.
  15. Actually, now I'm starting to see another possibility for the Disaster queue. What if it's some sort of candy factory? The holiday idea seems a bit more likely, but a candy factory could be interesting too.
  16. Quite possible. Usually the colors are: Pride- Violet Envy- Green Gluttony- Orange Lust- Blue Anger- Red Greed- Yellow Sloth- Light Blue But they do tend to vary. The "gold" people could actually be orange, and Sloth could have been changed to Pink for greater color variety.
  17. I'm looking forward to the house, personally. I really enjoyed The Thing: Assimilation back in 2007, and I think that between that and Creatures, they've learned from their mistakes when it comes to puppets and animatronics in their houses. I'm hoping we'll see more half-things than puppets this time, a bit more along the lines of JP: Evilution as Karras mentioned. I still think they should have at least a few puppets.
  18. Yes, that too. It looks to be a more direct remake of The Thing From Another World than The Thing was, or at least the basic plot. Anyway, what could make or break this house is how the Thing is represented. The flaw with the previous house was that it was easy to miss a lot of the scares, since they needed to reset. Also, puppets and animatronics are predictable... hopefully, there will be more scareactors than puppeteers this time around.
  19. The Parade Building is behind Curious George/Barney... it's where Scary Tales, Silver Screams, etc. were.
  20. Which is a prequel to Carpenter's movie, despite having the same title.
  21. I don't get all the complaints. I liked the Thing in 2007, but I admit it was flawed and I've always wanted to see them try again. I really don't mind rehashes and sequel houses, as long as they're not done year after year after year, and it's been 4 years since the last Thing house. I don't see anything wrong with taking another stab at it, especially with the movie on the way.
  22. I've been curious about that myself. I haven't heard anything about the Plaza of the Stars this time. I'd assume that's what LP is, though HHNRumors only shows casting for Hollywood, Shrek Alley, New York, Central Park, and IFB.
