  1. Time sure does fly...

  2. Finally getting the chance to go to Halloween Horror Nights tonight!

  3. The scareactors that I saw all did a really great job but I only got to see Warriors, Traditional, and Vampires and that was walking from New York to Amity and then through Kid Zone.
  4. Kinda late but oh well. First off, let me say that I when I first heard all the houses, I was a little disappointed. Thus, my expectation for all the houses were very low and this I think ultimately was good in the long run because...I LOVED every house this year. All the houses were very detailed and well done and had multiple scares in almost all the houses. First off, I hit up Alice Cooper: Welcome to my Nightmare to escape the rain. The facade is well done for this house. The giant Alice Cooper face and the themed music really sets the mood. Every different setting within the house has it's own song to go along with it and that just amps up the intensity. However this is one of the only houses I didn't really get scared in. However, the detail in design made up for it. 7 out of 10 Next was Penn and Teller: New'kd Vegas. When I went to this house it was still really early in the evening, about 30 minutes after it opened. The outside seemed a little lackluster. Just a tipped over Vegas sign and barrels of radioactive waste. Once in the house, it seemed dead inside. (pun intended). There weren't really that many scareactors inside. That was until I made my way back to the house later in the night. FANTASTIC! Outside they had a puking zombie, throwing up into a barrel and that set the mood for the house. Funny yet scary. Right away there were a lot more scareactors in the house. I really liked the white tiger victim. Quite funny. One of the greatest scares of the night happened at the end of the house. I stopped this time to watch the video of Penn and Teller when Penn talking about surviving the house...without any clowns....Scared the heck out of me. Great house. 8 out of 10. Silent Hill was next for me. Not much to say here. Great detail but lack of scares for me. I thought that Pyramid head was going to be one of the big scares of the night but no. He was just walking around out in the open. Only scare happened at the beginning of the house with the cop shooting her gun. Wasn't paying attention and the loud noise startled me. 7 out of 10 Once the I saw the Bill and Ted show (which was pretty good this year), I went to Gothic. Honestly, when I first saw that there was a house called gothic, I was bummed and very disappointed that this was going to be a house. I had a feeling like this house is overplayed all the time. Well it turns out.... to be my FAVORITE HOUSE OF THE NIGHT!!! Sooooo many great scares in this house. I felt like the facade reminded me a little too much like the Dracula house from a couple years ago but honestly, the house felt fresh once I stepped inside. The gargoyles were startling and scary to say the least. The detail was amazing and the illusion that you were high up in the church looking down was well done. The swinging Gargoyles were just the icing on the cake. High praise for this house. 10 out of 10. After a bit of wandering, we ended up at a Dead End. Got to say, once again, I didn't have high expectations for this house when I first saw the name. It didn't help either when the facade looks just like the Legendary truth house, minus the ghost investigators. Well, once again, I was dead wrong. Very well done and a lot of great scares throughout the house. From the family portrait of the dead bodies scene, to the the ghost-like illusions, it's very easy to get distracted in this house and that means great scares! For the first time in a while, I was glad to get out of the house at the end cause It was almost too much lol. Very close second. 10 out of 10. It's always a must to go to the "Headline House" at HHN so next was Walking Dead: Dead Inside. As a fan of the show, all I expected from this house was familiar sets and zombies. Lots...of zombies. And, I wasn't let down. The house was very detailed and almost seemed like you were in the show. Mission accomplished to the set designers. Didn't get scared at all in this house and I think that's because there were too many zombies. Everywhere you looked there were a bunch of them. That's great that it resembles the show in that sense but not when it comes to scares. There were too many out in the open and not enough hiding, waiting to catch you off guard. This house left me feeling the same way with Silent Hill. Excellent detail but lackluster in scares. 8 out of 10. Last but not least, House of Horrors. Felt neutral about this house before I went in because how can Universal screw up there own creations. The outside didn't help either because it's lacking a facade that captures your attention. Now, I knew this house was about classic movie monsters but they literally made this house about classic movie monsters. Everything was in black and white. The set, costumes, lighting. EVERYTHING. It seemed mediocre but there were plenty of scares despite the plain design. One detail I loved about the house was wind in the Bride of Frankenstein set. Well done. I also got a great scare in here as the strobe lights gave the illusion that everything was moving very fast. Even Frankenstein busting out of a wall at full speed towards me. I hate to give this house a low rating due to the lack of set and lighting so I won't since this was kind of the point of the house. So, 8 out of 10. Um...what else, what else. Oh yeah, the Bill and Ted show. This year was probably my favorite since 2007 but I'm not going to go into detail because I'd end up spoiling the whole thing. The new scarezone approach was fun but I only experienced a few minutes of it because they weren't out until the last maybe hour and a half due to the heavy rain most of the night. That's really all I can say about it until I go back again on the 27th. Overall, great year. Amazing set design and theme. 9.5 out of 10. Can't wait to back again at the end of October!
  5. Try playing Slender on the Computer without getting scared. Minimalist tactics at its best!
