  1. I cannot wait to see how claustrophobic they make this house feel with the lovely tent setting.
  2. Most likely mini themed stages just like 7 had back in 2011.
  3. It all depends on what you want. If you want to get the tour that substitutes for an Express Pass, get the RIP tour. You will not get to see any of the houses with the lights on, but you will get front of line access to everything. This tour takes place during the event, so you will save time in lines. I prefer the Unmasking the Horror tour because it is more affordable and allows me to see the houses with the lights on and zero scareactors inside. I can take all the pictures I want and the tour guides are very knowledgable. This tour takes place BEFORE the event, not during which is why the two tours are so different from eachother.
  4. That's true, they could just be calling it The Twister right now because the information is out there for the GP instead of to the people attending the event. I had never really considered that aspect. I am actually pretty excited for FDTD, but I was curious about the possible censorship.
  5. I somehow imagine the facade will look mostly the same but just say The Twister. Here's a question for those more in the know: was this house forced on A&D or did they campaign to have it? This question has been bugging me lately as it seems weird to force a house on A&D and then tell them they have to censor the property (Titty Twister to The Twister).
  6. That would be my figuring too. I imagine those waiting in the DA line who are not HHN fans will wonder what this structure is, and at least with an announcement they can find the info on their phones while they wait rather than bugging ops people (although that is likely to happen anyways).
  7. Should we be thinking more along the lines of childhood fears or superstitions with the Boogeyman being the most obvious example?
  8. Well, if he appears in the factory at all, we have our explanation since it means he was rebuilt. The only thing needed beyond that is the rest of the icons which could be easily taken care of if Jack 2.0 were to be the one to have them all rebuilt. This would actually satisfy both the long time fans ("Hooray continuity!") and the GP ("Oh look! There are all those characters we loved that disappeared for a few years without any explanation!") so I like it as an easy and accessible way to reboot the convoluted mythology started by HHN20.
  9. Exactly, Jack 2.0! To take this a step further, he could take over the factory after his resurrection and recreate all his old playmates for the 25th anniversary. There, now everyone is out of the lantern and it need never be referenced again.
  10. Quick thought on the clown factory house/Jack. This seems to be the perfect way to explain what happened to Jack after the lantern. With the clown factory, it seems like the perfect plot device to bring him back as a copy of the Jack we knew (as the Jack we knew is still imprisoned in the lantern). He could either be the clown that starts an uprising at the factory, a cameo clown within the factory itself, or the final product of the mechanisms we see operating within the factory. All would work and still keep continuity.
  11. I am going with the doll house. The dolls could be former people or the setting could just be an old plantation and he is the victim. The former makes me think of the movie Maniac while latter makes me think of one of the stories in Tales From the Hood so I could see either of those as being the inspiration. If it is the second the raw would refer to the raw sugar cane on a plantation.
  12. I agree with most of this, but I also think there are ways of making the icon tie into all the houses if you give it a little effort. The Usher did tie his whole event together in a way that was fairly easy for the GP but with a nice backstory online he also had a bit of depth to him. His house was also not a WTF just happened affair which helps. The problem with the marketing icons (I am going to use Lady Luck for this example) is that you HAVE TO look up the online stuff to see how it all ties together. It was not at all easy for the GP to figure out how Lady Luck tied into ANY of the houses that were on offer and only the avid fan could see the connections (which in some cases were pretty loose). Now comes the hard question: is it possible to have a non movie based icon tie the event together in a way that both the GP and the avid fan can relate to? I am going to say yes. To steal an idea: The Puppet Master All we need for the GP to realize he is ruling the event is a puppet of one of the creatures we will see inside a house hanging on the facade somewhere. If I had my way, each house would have an interior facade and the doors to enter the house would be dressed with stage like red curtains and a puppet hanging beside them (this would be a bit harder with the non SS houses, I will admit). Heck, each house could have its own mini icon and that could be the marionette we see outside, while inside we see the real creation. For his house we get to enter his puppet theater and see his horrible creations. The house would be accessible because, lets face it, puppets by their nature are scary and a creepy puppet master is pretty easy to connect to whether or not you understand his motivations/bacstory. The website at this point would function as a way to flesh out both the icon and his minions. This sort of icon could also easily accomodate any IPs as all it takes to tie it in is a marionette hanging outside the house entrance and it automatically ties in. That is just one idea, but there are many creative ways to tie an icon into the event (as necessary) and still offer depth to the die hards and accessibility to the GP.
  13. HAHAHA! No, I would never take that bet. In all honesty, I am not that burned out on vampires anyways. I am more burned out on zombies given that since 2008 we have had zombies in either a house or scarezone pretty much every year (I say pretty much because you could make a case for or against zombies in 2011). To me, these two houses are going to be vastly different as far as sets and mood, so it does not bother me that much. Heck, last year I thought there might be too much similarity between some of the houses, and they proved me wrong. Now I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. My only question is, has anyone actually seen the FDTD tv series? If so, how is it?
  14. To be fair, Dracula Untold may not be as much vampire as we think. It may be more psychopath and witches given that it seems to focus on Vlad Tepes and has the involvement of Baba Yaga. For all we know, he may not even become a vampire proper until near the end of the movie. Granted, this is all conjecture given that we do not have a trailer.
  15. I am hearing 5 IPs and 3 originals if that eases your fears. Originally, it was thought to be a 4 to 4 year, but we are losing an original and gaining an IP. The main debate both Jimmy and I are referring to is, which original are we losing?
  16. It was a good one. I am curious how this is all going to shake out as, like you, I have heard all three things said. My latest info is what I posted and I give it the most credibility because of the fact that there was a crow in EVERY house last year so I figure that might make the Crows house more of a priority. At the very least, it gives us something to speculate upon.
  17. Read this carefully because I have added a clue. The crows will be in b79 and the altar will be elsewhere. Usually, this sort of change would surprise me, but they did put a crow into every house last year so that house must be a priority. All of this must be taken with a grain of salt, but it is what one of my sources have me. Lately, that person has been correct so if you are reading this carefully, it should be obvious what house might be on the outs.
  18. I think a tent would suit it better given that the majority of the movie is cramped spaces (psych ward and house interiors). With Dracula you are going to have to have a massive castle, not so much with Halloween. Edit: To take it a step further, Dracula as a character has always been larger than life and showy, while Michael is much more introverted and personal. The, big and over the top atmospheres that they can present in a SS work perfectly for Dracula as that is his personality while the small and intimate corners would work better for Michael to maximize his terror.
  19. That's my theory too. Earlier Legacy said he was hearing "crazy whispers" so calling you crazy means, based on his current information, you are right in saying that we are getting a FDTD house.
  20. I have heard that the ratio changed too but could it instead be that the generic clown house is now KKFOS?
  21. As far as hotels go, my wife and I stayed here: Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Orlando International Drive 7975 Canada Avenue, Orlando, Florida, 32819 and really enjoyed it. They have a free shuttle that runs between the hotel and Universal too which came in handy for saving on parking costs. If you are not getting a park ticket that gives you a third day free, then be sure to be waiting at the front gates of the park early for HHN (my wife and I arrived at 5pm on the one night we did not have park entry last year and we got 5 houses and Transformers done before 8:30pm). If you are already in the parks, you should be golden. Since you plan on having the fastpass, let me just tell you that your best bet is to not use it until lines get north of 30-45 minutes. Also, B&T fills up quickly so if you care about getting good seats, arrive early. Also, from about twilight on, the lines will get long. It's the nature of the beast so be prepared (I would save B&T for later, but that is your call).
  22. Legacy keeps saying crazy whispers so I have to assume that the words themselves have some significance. The problem is, I cannot figure out what. That being said, here is a stab at the codenames: IPs Evac: has been accepted as Alien, but I am still sort of skeptical Captain: Halloween TWD: The Walking Dead (duh) Synergy: Dracula Untold Originals Crows: Croatoa Charlie: Creepy dolls (voodoo?) Smile: Circus/Clowns (I originally thought KKFOS but we were told a 4x4 ratio of IPs to originals) Ritual: Boogeyman based house (maybe Legendary Truth?) Granted, we have heard that changes may be coming so even this list seems up in the air.
  23. Cat in mask could also be The Phantom of the Opera. Thinking on it more, it would be cool to have a house based on Lon Chaney Sr. and some of the horrific characters he played over the years. He essentially began the Universal Monsters line (Hunchback in '23 and Phantom in '25) even though they did not label the line as such until Dracula. Even if not directly Chaney, a house based upon a Man of a Thousand Faces murderer would be really interesting.
