  1. Chocolate, my 100 pound Akita/Belgian Malinois mix. I've got to say...best mix EVER. Size of the Akita, colors of the Malinois, combined smarts, tons of energy, but still docile...only bad trait he got was being afraid of everything, which came from his mother. He'll run from a mouse!

Instead of pronouncing his name "chocklate" as most people pronounce the word, he's "CHOCK-oh-LOT." That way if I ever ask for a chocolate milkshake he won't think I'm calling him haha.

He's about three and a half years old. Still a big baby, and full of energy.

Then there's Lucy. She was the first dog I ever chose myself, back when I lived with my father. Then I moved out on my father to live with my mother and aunts, and that's when I got Chocolate. She's a Border Collie mix..unsure what she's mixed with but she's a bit smaller than a normal border collie, and not quite as intelligent.

Well, he never did take care of her, and just a few months ago she displaced her hip, which on this breed of dogs requires a very costly surgery called an FHO. So he puts the cost of the surgery on my aunts by some sneaky manipulation, and now she's my dog again. We refused to give her back to him since he has another dog that would surely dislocate her hip again. When we got her her fur was all matted, she weighed only about 30 pounds, and STUNK.

Now she has a full glossy coat, she smells like a dog should, has a lot of her energy from her youth back, and weighs about 45 pounds. She's 8 years old I believe. She surprises me with how much energy she still has, though she's still obviously middle aged and doesn't quite have the energy she had when she was 1 or 2, she has more than she had just a year ago before we got her.

Her and Chocolate have a strained relationship. Chocolate is friendly to her, but she rejects him. It's odd. They'll get used to each other eventually though. Pack walks definitely help.

Here she is playing in some bubble wrap from a package I just opened

And a pic of them laying together during a breather on one of our walks. Chocolate is wearing a pack btw to those of you who think he looks super fat in the pic lol.

  2. Ok, only read this last page (48) and haven't seen anything on it, and I see no threads on it. So I'm going to post it here rather than make a topic because I bet it's right under my nose.

What's the scuttlebutt on auditions this year? I actually have the opportunity to do it. I remember last year they were around this time, and I'm freaking out because I can't find much info on it! I don't want to miss out on the opportunity again.

Does anyone have any info at all? And I'm sure that it's been around here, I just haven't been lurking at all during the off season.

  3. If you would have come up with that earlier, I would have gladly sabotaged the throne with a pluto doll XD. Here's to a great idea, and here's to next year having houses that can have accompanying plush animals as well. I found it as a great way to show that you are a true fan, and when I had my cat+comb with me, I found myself getting more interaction from every scareactor, no matter the house. Like vault/nightmares shirt times 10.

  4. Yeah, I actually thought that Sylvie was a better icon this year, if only because of the interactive website, and her quite intricate backstory including "documentaries" and whatnot. It was really detailed. Fear felt tossed together. A failure of an icon? Nah. Could have been worse. But it didn't do too well either. Fallow you pretty much sum up what I am thinking, except for a few little insignificant things, I agree with you completely. I was very disappointed in knowing that they could have had that creepy little girl with smoke billowing out of her eyes on those billboards...but it might have gone back to the original issue of why they didn't use her in the first place. Not saying that HoS was a better event this year, HHN beat it just because of the great and interactive scareactors, houses, and zones. If it was just "scare and run away" at HHN, like how HoS is, HoS would have won. The event this year definitely goes to the actors, hands down.

  5. Omg, I was right behind you Jumbo, and as you turned the camera to where I was standing, I was kneeling down for the Ice Queen XD and when you turned the camera back is when I stood up. Niice. I wish I would have spent more time here on closing night, I only caught like the last 10-15 minutes or so, I had to say goodbye to all of my other favorite scareactors.

  6. Both Cindy's were awesome, but the first one in your video totally stole my heart at the event :P. It seems as if they switch the casts around a bit, as you can see in your video you had two different Cindy's but the same Chance. Or am I just confusing myself with the low light levels and whatnot?

  7. I noticed the same thing, Jumbo. It all started in that cage, and sometimes continued onward all the way to the van. First it smelled like the turkey legs they sell there, and it eventually turned into a really rank chemical like smell. There also stopped being a zombie outside of the cage as well.

  8. You always picked on me photoguy :P. I remember a few times coming through that there'd be some easily scared tweens in front of me, and you'd just wait for my glowing vault shirt :P. Then the guy on the right hand side a few times would already be in my face by time I looked back.

  9. Yeah, isn't Jack technically a zombie? Same with the Usher. I think that Elsa, Albert, and Paolo are all alive, dunno about Cindy though.

Also, I don't remember seeing the branches/roots on Cindy, like they had on The Usher, Director, Storyteller, etc in Fear Revealed. What's up with that? Maybe I just didn't pay enough attention?

  10. First off, I want to say that I LOVE this website, as this same conversation on the Vault would already be so flooded with flaming and arguing that the intelligent conversation we're having now would be moot.

Anyhow, back to the matter at hand, what I meant earlier was maybe having Cindy/Sindy being our terra queen this year, and Fear being our storyteller. That's what I was hoping for, but it ended up being a bit....jumbled, to say the least. If they would have focused a bit more on that original idea, maybe it would have turned out a bit better. All in all, people make mistakes, and that's how we get better. I don't think that Fear himself is a mistake, but I think that he could have been utilized in a much better capacity. Honestly, I love the event when we have an outer layer for the GP, with an under layer for the fans, and those few intelligent members of the GP who end up becoming us. Last year, we had The Usher for most of us, and the movie icons advertised to the general public. And I'm sure that a few began to look into The Usher, and learned his story, and then learned about the other intricate stories of HHN, and so on, and eventually became a great fan. That's my idea of the perfect year. Though they've pulled it off before, like Bloody Mary (urban legend for GP, Dr. Agana for us), I think that they're trying to find a balance, sort of like how '07 we saw Carnival of Carnage, where the icon was the same on both sides of the fence, although of course there was a much deeper story for us fans to look into. I think that they tried pulling that off this year, but the story just didn't flesh out too well, especially since they were introducing a completely new character, as opposed to a formerly established character.

Hopefully next year, maybe we'll get a story for Fear, and someone to show themselves off to the GP, or rather have Fear again and maybe a story for him this time...and maybe even have a challenger appear. Who knows? But I know that the creative team does read fan forums, their surveys, and they just generally listen to the fans...after all, they're fans too. So maybe we'll get a better story in the coming years...maybe this one is just ground work. I dunno. We have a good 7-8 months till the first rumors start coming out for HHN 21: Legal Drinking Age. This time, the park itself is the angry drunk ;).

  11. LOL! Thanks, and although I am much younger than the characters I have played the last 2 years, I am by no means young, or at least not as young as most, or even all, on this board.

Kim, I'm not gonna lie, when I first saw you as the Storyteller I said aloud (to nobody in particular) "Damn, the Storyteller has some legs!" :P.

  12. His name is James Keaton.

Thank you, Kim. I'm very very bad with names, for some reason for another.

Also, Chip, I agree with you to an extent, but they pulled off a huge story with 2005, masked by an almost tacked on, but still pretty decent icon with Terra Cruentas and The Storyteller. I think that the tree idea could have been made to appeal to the GP. Fear is great for the GP, but to me the story really felt lacking this year; though don't get me wrong, I loved the event this year, and I have much respect for the A&D team, and I understand that they did their best that they could do while trying to meet our demands, and their bosses demands. But they've been able to pull off huge intricate stories before...it seems like with a bit of tweaking, this one could have been great. But they went with Fear instead, which honestly wouldn't have been so bad if they just fleshed him out a bit more, and gave him a bit more story. Really, all I understand from Fear is that he lived in a lantern ever since the inception of HHN, and has been using the icons to find his way out of the lantern and into our realm. Maybe a few little tidbits that I missed out, but that's the gist of it. Hell, even last year with Julian, we had a really nice backstory. If maybe they had it so Cindy is the one who summoned fear by means of that tree, maybe everybody could have won.

But alas, I'm not the creative team, and my idea probably (most likely) is total crap. I loved this year, and I love the creative team for what they've done for us with the VIP lounge and the great houses/zones, I'm just slightly bummed by the slightly lacking story this year, and seeing the video of what it could have been adds a bit to that effect. It could have been better, but it wasn't. If there was a tad bit of story with Legendary Truth, or just in general, I would have been a happy man with everything. But, in the end, it was still an AMAZING event, and honestly now I don't think I would have had this event any other way. It's always nice to think of "what if's" though. I'm hoping that maybe they can have the "hollow" icon for the general public to see, and then have a rather intricate story in the background that an interested guest can maybe stumble upon and get wrapped into, and get sucked into our shoes :P. I've always thought, the idea is not to appeal to lesser fans, it's to make those lesser fans bigger fans.

In the end, there's always something that suffers. Some years have a bunch of amazing houses, and one of them being horrible, or the same going on with the zones. I think that this year, since the streets and the houses were all so amazing, the story took a bit of a hit. Not a big hit, but a bit of one. I just want another 2005 :P.

These two ladies made the EVENT for me! Such amazing interaction, they ALWAYS noticed me when I went through their cast. I even tried avoiding them once, just to see what'd happen, and BOOM there's one or the other right on me. Amazing scareactors.

As I said before, this zone is the closest to my heart. You guys were simply awesome. It was definitely lots and lots of fun walking through here, and hanging out. I promised you two I'd walk through a few more times, then realized that it was 11:50 already. Oops! So my bad on that one. You guys were simply amazing out there, and I honestly fell in love with this zone. Next year, if I decide to dress up for Halloween, I think I'm going to base my costumes off of the designs here.

  15. A few shots of closing night in Fear Revealed. You guys were awesome. <3. Oh, and the first shot is actually my last shot that I took, these are all out of order. Yes, that is Chance and Jack for one last shot, out of costume. I snapped it from the side so I wouldn't look like a stalker and walked off :P.

  16. Whoever complained about the Ops in robes/cloaks should be shot. That was an amazing idea, and I'd love to see more of it. It honestly made the house a LOT better. I've always thought that ops should be in the shadows, and guests should be told that they're "demons of mercy" or something of that sort to help them out if help is needed for some reason or another...hearing a creepy voice from a cloaked figure say "Please, put up your camera" is better than a guy with a nametag saying it. And when the drunkards, or idiots do decide to do what they do, then the hood goes back and they can step in. Problem solved.

EDIT: No, they shouldn't be shot. I'm being funny. Opinion still stands though. Why not cloak the ops?
