  1. A few years ago, there was a haunted house at Valleyfair called "Mr. Cleaver's Blood Shed." I liked the sound of it, so for a while I was known online as Dr. Cleaver. After HHNVault went offline and I wound up here, I felt that, since I was in no way shape or form a doctor, I should just change it back to Mr. The odd part is that I never went through that house. Hell, I've never even been to that park.

  2. Aaaaand there it is, yet again. That wonderfully horrid sensation of creative blockage, All those moments of inspired insanity and random inspiration, and I got nada. Five months of ideas swirling in the brain and spontaneous episodes of creative genius, and now that I finally got a chance to piece it all together, I've got less than nothing. Piss. DAMMIT BRAIN, START WORKING. I can BS a 47 page essay for school, but I can't force even five sentences for myself? Bah.

  3. For those that didn't hear, there was a shooting in a Denver suburb (Aurora) during the midnight premier of the Dark Knight Rises.

I'm still shaking a bit, since a good number of my friends live in Aurora. Last I heard, I had about ten personal friends in the theater at the time. I'm glad none of them were hurt. If you have any friends or family living in or near Denver, please check with them.

  4. Alright, so by now I've downloaded all the collections. I had a problem with a few of the tracks. It doesn't display any track info other than title, doesn't register how long the tracks are, and it won't burn them to CDs. I had this issue with track 12 on 2004 (Diso Pt I), and on 2011, tracks 21, 22, 25, 31, 38, 42, 44, 45, 48, 49, 53, 54. Any idea what this problem is? Every track on every other year has loaded perfect other than these.

  5. Well, due to a promise I made to the voices, I must return to Las Vegas at the end of Sept/beginning of Oct. This means that I will have a nice little ten hour drive with no company except for my brain. And I don't like him. He wants to kill me.

  6. I voted for a multitude of reasons, but I think I'm probably a bit of a different case from most HHNH-ers on HNN, as I'm from CO, and it's a long ass trip out to either HHN for me.

But my big things are if it dropped in quality - not slipped, but fell- down to the point where it's really more like painted walls and Walmart costumes for every maze. Another biggie for me is the overall ideas/concepts of the houses. I'm good with movie houses, as long as it changes more often than not and they're good movies; the problem usualy comes around when the ideas seem like giant stretches -uncreative, "seen-before" feel, Knott's-did-it-better, what have you. Being as I get one chance to go to decent events every year, I always have to try to hit the best one. This year, I'll probably be at HHNH; Orlando's spec. seems to have mostly "meh" houses, and HOS is mostly repeats and uncreative themes. So I want the best event I can get, especially since there's no decent event anywhere in this state.

That and the Terror Tram is the life blood of Hollywood to me.

  7. At this point, it's about 85% certain: I will likely head to CA and hit HHNH/KSF rather than HHNO/HOS. Why? Glad you asked.

First off, Hollywood looks like it'll have a kick ass line up. Wolfman, Rob Zombie, The Thing, ALICE FVCKING COOPER, etc. Fvck yeah.

Next, HOS just released it's line up, and it's super "meh." Only seven houses (2010 had eight), two of the new ones have the most unoriginal names in a while ("Vampire Casino", "Zombie Mortuary."), Alone is up to $40, and there are no real SZs; only zombies wandering around the park.

And of course, the Rumors for HHNO have me a bit underwhelmed. The idea of WWI hospital sounds interesting, but I hate steampunk. And I really hate the way HHNO toys with us. Hollywood and HOS both toss us rumors, leaks, hell, they go as far as INTERACTING WITH US. Orlando seems to play high and mighty; Hollywood and HOS communicate and reach out to the fans.

Well, there's my anti-Orlando rant of the day.

  8. The word "blessed" really bugs me. I heard someone talk about how great her family is, and how "blessed" she really is... and I wanted to smack her. If she had said "lucky" or "fortunate," I wouldn't have noticed. But "blessed?" Ugh.

  9. When they're done well, cans work great. But if it's at every corner, I honestly hate it. The more it's used, the lesser the effect to me. I've been in houses with countless cans, and by the end of it I hated those damn cans. On the other side, I went through one once with one can, near the end of the house. It seemed to have a surprisingly good effect.

As usual, moderation is the key in my book. I've seen 'em good and bad, so I have no definate answer.

  10. well, Ive never gone to HHNH,but from what Ive read, I guess Hollywood houses have better quality and are longer? but you only get 4 houses,

Orlando gets 8, plush more scarezones, is like, Orlando has more variety and more stuff going on... and Hollywood does the same houses year after year, like Jason and Freddy and Saw, where done years in a row

I remember talking to friends that went to the Hollywood last year saying they did not like some of the houses, I dont know, i really dont know, is really what other people say

They're actually up to six mazes this year. And, from what it appears, they only have one returning house htis year : House of A Thousand Corpses. Which I can live with. I don't recall any major difference in length or detailing between either, but I think Hollywood had more gore; not too sure on that.

  11. well.....Orlando has so much more going on, but i hear the quality of the Hollywood houses is better? i dont know, cant tell, im Orlando

Well, Orlando has sound stages. HUGE advantage over Hollywood; they have tents, tents, and tents. Yep.

Both have great quality, but Hollywood seems to have better lighting, so you can actually see what the hell's going on in there.

What this really comes down to are the houses. We know both the Thing, but HHNH has ALICE F_CKING COOPER doing a house. That's a huge plus. And rumors be that HHNO has steam punk. I don't like steam punk.

  12. Hollywood, or Orlando,,,, I have still yet to decide where I want to go for October. At least Hollywood's giving us info on what this year will be. Orlando is always toying with us, and I'm not sure that I care for that much.

  13. A friend of mine just gave birth to wily little wierdo, and was keeping everyone updated via FB throughout labor. God knows why she was allowed to. But, she was kind ebough to give us the following quote:

"When I say 'Epi', you say 'Dural!' Epi! Dural! GO DRUGS!"

This is easily my vote for qoute of the week.
