  1. Wow..those zipper faces are amazing! And the potential "boo" scares from scareactors hiding in plain site would easily be what I had hoped for, yet was disappointed by, in the nurses scene in Silent Hill. I'd be VERY happy with a similar house. EDIT: Autocorrect on my tablet has a field day with "Scareactors".
  2. Well, not on the front gate. But if you can hide facades from "our spies" you can sure as poopie hide an unlit neon sign from kiddies during the day. And if you bring your kids to HHN, then it's your own dang fault. Yes...still bitter from my first year with hellgate prison guys implying they'd like to explore my bottocks. While I'd love a hard R event...a return to PG-13 would be really appreciated!
  3. Hopefully that's just referring to TGIF as "Friday's" or Buffalo Wild Wings and Wack as "BW3" or "Wild Wings". Familiarity by abbreviation. Making a PG-13 name Rated G for a Horror Nights event really tinkles me off!
  4. Well, if it's all blacklight that would be pretty cool because I'd just bring glasses from a couple years ago and they'll work just fine since its all color based. Ha ha ha. I think I might be the loudest voice for the 3D Clown house...but that's just wishful thinking. If it's not in the tents, then I doubt it's 3D.
  5. <commence bitching session>I I sooooooooo wish Universal would invest $250k per year on an an interactive marketing dept that would dedicate 3 months to HHN (while spending the other 9 months doing other UNI stuff). Where we'd have the interactive games and stuff that we had in the 2005ish time frame (not a HHN expert with everything committed to memory, just guesstimating). I hate the fact that we "figure everything out" through hints and sources and leaks and then "hurry up and wait" for the official announcements. I think if we had more of a fun, interactive experience that we'd all be happy. And NOT super secret nerd stuff...but just games and stuff to find out stuff before they put it on the splash page of the main site. If they had 3 vauge hints leading up to TWD announcement that would have been great. JWD, Dr Jimmy and Legacy could give us their hints about the answer and then it would be released and we'd move on. Then another 3 hints now for whatever the second hint was and we'd figure it out with the help of our "inside sources". I think that would make us happy as well as intrigue the GP for event. They used to do this sooooooooooo well, but now the website sucks. Even the games suck. It's so easy to call off the spoilers on their part, and give the customers what they want. Full disclosure: This is probably a result of doing the recent survey and being shoehorned into selecting what I thought of the website without having and option that fit my opinion. Oh yeah, and the fact that I work in the MARCOM area <end bitching session> EDIT: Fixed brainfart of referring to JWD as TWD. Damn abbreviations for houses rotting my brain!
  6. Regarding the Halloween House...what house is it? The abandoned Myers house? The Strode house? The babysitting house? I kinda remember 3 distinct houses, but I haven't watched any of them recently. Myers goes back to his childhood home, then goes where Jamie Lee Curtis is babysitting, then chases her back to her families house which has the balcony. At least that's how I remember it.
  7. It honestly looks like one of those collapsible laundry bag things I had in college just draped over the side...or some kind of filter that a yet to be installed spotlight could be placed behind. I know a 3D Disaster Queue house has all but been eliminated, but a bright orange spotlight with a piped in fog machine making 3D fog with hidden 3D clowns would possibly be the best thing ever!
  8. Good! Then I can have an extra beer that I'll walk off during the night :-)
  9. Maybe I'm missing the big picture here, but I think General Public means the people who are from XYZ and going to Orlando already and might just decide to go, or Kisseme kids who are bored on a Friday and decide to just go buy a ticket and attend, or someone like me years ago who saw a special on The Travel Channel (or something like that) and thought "That's amazing, we have to travel 1200 miles to go!", or people like that. Anybody who is enough of a fan of HHN to go onto social media and bitch about it isn't really the GP in my mind. Sure, a bunch are the trolls who give every single product on Amazon 1 star to feel like they're important, but the rest are people who are aware of the event and following it months before it starts and before the website really even has any content on it. They're all fans. Now, if HHN makes an agreement with AMC to run NATIONAL commercials during TWD, that's brilliant and that would really impact the GP and get "butts in seats" so to say. That reaches the GP, not twitter posts or Facebook Videos of Aiello. Those NEVER reach the GP...only people who are already aware of the event and considering going. The houses and zones (or lack there of) might influence a few, but a set percentage of those people are already going so the mythical GP are the situational buyers (not the right term, but drawing a blank right now) who buy candybars or People Magazine at the supermarket checkout since they stuck there in front of them and they just go for it. Those people, will see The Walking Dead and say "wow, I hear great things about the show/love the show...I want to go to this event so I can live it!" Let's not think that if you aren't on this forum with at least 300 posts that you aren't a real fan and therefor part of the GP.
  10. I thought P&T and Alice Cooper were pretty good. I must ain't be no smart.
  11. There is really no benefit for them to do it. They still have the same budget and to have to clean up twice the area, run twice the rides, have twice the security, etc etc etc. Also, look at all the complaints about "how empty the back of the park is". Imagine trying to spread out the resources over TWICE the area. Its really a no win proposition for them, they have the facilities for the 8 houses, and they have all the street stuff set up in Universal and there are still dead spots. So why expand the area? I don't buy the "If we have a concept that works" argument one bit. Jurassic Park was a great area and you could come up with a jungle, cannibal, predator, dinosaur, stalker idea for that area every year. Of course, just opinion....and you know what everybody thinks about those.... :-)
  12. I hope they are for HHN....and for the streets only because they make me think of my favorite scare ever: Rock Man whose blended in perfectly in IOA. Even after being scares by him once, I still couldn't find him the second time and scared the crap out of me again! I REALLY hope they have "CamoScares" again this year. Thinking of leaf lined areas makes me think of them...
  13. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/fox-rebooting-predator-shane-black-714598 Tangentially related to the HHN discussion....4 years after the reboot of Predator, they're rebooting it yet again. I quite enjoyed the Predators reboot (and I think that's why I erroneously mentioned a jungle earlier) and would have liked to see a follow up to that. Has me counting down the days until they remake Alien with Angelina Jolie as Ripley...or reboot it with Aliens on earth as not extraterrestrials, but rather genetic experiments gone awry...or something crazy like that. Oh well, possible 2018 HHN House.
  14. I hope they DON'T have the queen. They found the private collector who had the original Aliens Queen to use it in Resurrection. It cost over $1M in 1996 (I think) dollars just to fix it up. No way Universal would pay close to that to fix anything up for HHN...let alone make it from scratch. Now could they do something where they make something that looks pretty good and has a limited, pre-programmed range of motion (like turning it's head side to side while flinging around it's T-Rex arms)? Sure...but that would be a disappointment. If they don't have it, we'll all be mad about a missed opportunity. If they do have it, we'll probably all be disappointed with how halfassed it is. I hated AVP so I really only watched it once...but I kinda remember one of my gripes being that at the end when the Queen was outside, it was taller than a crane and like 50' tall or something ridiculous like that. I made fun of it calling it Alien Godzilla. It wouldn't even "fit" if my memory serves. And they better not have the Predalien or Alienator or whatever that ridiculous hybrid was in AVP2.
  15. Only 1 alien and about 8 "people"...and a cat (Dr Jimmy would LOVE that). Would be hard. An original Aliens house would be great in my mind...and the Aliens were (before Dog Alien and CGI Resurrection Aliens) always people in suits. Could be great. MOSTLY aliens with Predator "clicking" and red lasers tracking and stuff would be cool...with only a Predator or two showing up at the end. That's my hope. Though an indoor jungle with all kinds of plants for scareactors to hide behind has me REALLY excited and I'd be happy to have AVP if that meant dense, fake jungles with camo scares!
  16. I think it's basically that Alien is used in a Disney ride so it was kinda assumed (AVP being a different "franchise"). Plus the clues from some showed the planet Earth and both AVP's took place on Earth. Alien IV sorta kinda mighta made to Earth, but the pig baby alien had already been sucked out so no real Xenomorphs ever made it "here".
  17. Finished in that it was a quick, halfassed job of doing it...or that it's smaller than it's been in the past since since there's potter line/overflow/whatever reducing the size?
  18. ....Obviously, or else you would have "redacted" the text by putting a black layer behind it, and then deleting the text areas on the top layer...thereby making it "unphotoshoppable". Ha ha ha.
  19. I think I'm the only person in the world who kinda enjoyed the movie. I loved Dog Soldiers and The Descent is one of my favorite movies ever, so I'm a sucker for Neil Marshall movies (I don't consider the turd Descent 2 to be "his"). Having said that, the best part about the house was queue video and....well, that's about it. Definitely one of the worse houses ever. Though depending on which crew you got, the one mohawk guy was a pretty cool and into the roll...but I think I only caught him once out of the 3 times I went through.
  20. Dracula isn't exactly original. Neither was The Thing (hell, it was a remake of a remake!). So I used them as examples due to the similarity to Dracula to make a point.
  21. Wolfman a couple years ago had flop of a movie written all over it (http://boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=wolfman.htm and the $62M domestic box office on a $150M budget proved that to be true) yet it was a great house. I personally thought it was going to be terrible...but it was great! The production value was through the roof (or, well, on the roof) and the scares and facade were great. I really enjoyed the house. Am I on fandango ordering my ticket for Dracula? Not at all...but I'm intrigued by the movie telling it from a different perspective. And knowing there's going to be a castle gives me high hopes for another epic facade to the house. Also, to answer one of your questions...I believe Wolfman made it's appearance before the movie came out. And The Thing (remake). Not 100% sure on those, but I know I did the houses before I saw the movies and loved them both.
  22. Mods please delete if it's not appropriate to link like this, but over at Orlando United user UO Leaker posted some updated photos. So not embedding them, just putting a link to their site. http://uoleaker.com/photo/hhn-24-update-61514
  23. http://www.halloweenhorrornights.com/orlando/rip-tours.html They started putting up the Unmasking the Horror Tour info and it sounds like you're going to have your choice of houses again this year. EDITED after reading up and seeing it was this way last year too. Also, a second new Dracula poster:
  24. The Choido Brothers were just on Modern Marvels: Made By Hand. God I want a Killer Klowns house and couldn't help but think these guys would love it and even offer to help!
  25. Does anybody know where the release schedule/dates from last year can be found? I know someone had an awesome resource like that as well as an "update tracker" to see when the official site had some "behind the scenes" updates being done. Didn't go to HHN last year so didn't really follow and got a new laptop since the previous year so lost those bookmarks
