  1. Everybody knows the best idea for a house to street conversion is Cleaver. Having police and others in those masks grabbing victims and dragging them away to go into Meetz Meatz is a dream.

However, I still stand by my statement. ;)

I'm just waiting for that to happen...

Great review! It was fun reading it.

  2. Thank you for bringing this back, Fallow. I really enjoy reading people's post in this thread.

For the streets my official vote went to the Spade Minions. Their face is expressionless, their eyes jet black, and their costume is so simple... yet so impressive. You can't forget the spade axes and stick that they had. Those looked great. I also really enjoyed 7's costumes as a whole. I was wonderful walking through the fog adoring all the colors and beautiful costumes. I though that the Dark Soul Wraith costume were quite neat. I really like how their hood illuminated their mask. Similar to the Spade Minions, their costume is so simple... yet so impressive.

For the houses my official vote goes to the the Forsaken Crew. I one thing that really makes their costume are the glowing green eyes. I'm sure it's a pain to see out of them, but they just look so amazing. I also love all the little seaweed and sea junk attached to their clothes. In addition, I really liked the Nightingales. I enjoyed the full-fledged Nightingales the best. Their mask is quite disturbing. You can't forget Holdiays of Horror, though! I truly loved going through the house and soaking in all the fun scenes, bright color, and fun costumes. My favorites of the bunch are the Zombie Lincoln and the Evil Elves. Zombie Lincoln's mask is just down-right terrifying and the Evil Elves are just so fun and quite frankly... cute.

  3. Did anyone else get told to leave a scare zone? Because I did. I was taking pictures with my D90 in Lady Luck's zone and I was told to leave, and then in Grown Evil one of the security guys told me to leave and to stop using flash when I clearly wasn't (I spent five minutes in front of this guy, literally). Anyways, not the best year for pictures, and it was pretty crowded when I was getting shots but I got some good ones I think. Just a little disappointed on how I was treated while I was in zones getting shots. I also made sure I wasn't in the way, I stood in a corner or against a wall/gate when I was taking pictures.

I got told to leave Your Luck Has Run Out as well. I hadn't spent but two mintues in the zone and was even standing by a wall. Oh well...

Chip and Veritas,, thanks for the compliments. :)

  4. I'm pretty sure both Arbor Day ladies were actors in scarezones last year - 20 Years and Fear Revealed. They were both awesome fun last year, and they are kicking it big time this year - kudos!!

Is there such thing as Scareactor of the Year? :D

I love this house so much. Everything is done perfectly.

    My "perfect things" list:

-Queue Video. Oh, the Valentine's Day kill...

-Façade. Simple, but I love it.

-Casting. I always tried to go through Cast A and loved everyone there.

    -The Gore. Perfection.

    -H.R. Bloodengutz Actor (Cast A & B). He's awesome.

-VD II Dance Lighting. Possibly one of my favorite lighting effects this year...

-Uncle Sam Wants You Firework Warehouse. The dummy with the Roman candle shoved down his throat… A&D, y'all are genius.

-Leprechaun Cave Set and Lighting. I love it.

-Arbor Day Girls (I usually always saw Cat A). Oh my God.

-President’s Day Bomb. I memorized the beeps to which I would always gesture when it went off. We loved this effect.

-President's Day Sofa Body. It's quite gory...

-Thankskilling Scent. My cousin and I would always start huffing it in once in the transition room.

-The Thankskilling Pilgrim and His Lovely Musket. I saw you laughing at me. You must've remembered me from all the times I visited.

-Ho Ho Homicide Elves. I don't get scared by them, but they're just so cute!

  6. Saturday, October 1st

*I apologize, for I didn't always note what casts I went through.

The Forsaken Forsakens (what's their official name, anyways?): I got a fantastic scare from the one on the right of the tilted room right after the floorboard actor.

Saws N' Steam Cast A: I love you guys. Even though I had memorized this house like the back of my hand from the amount of times I had gone thorough, I still get great scares due to the intensity of the cast. Got a Nightmares shout-out in the flesh aquariams by Cast A and an "off with your head gesture" (Cast B) targeted at me while I caught a cast change in the queue line. Luke, I remember your said that might have been you. I got a pretty good scare by the air piston actor behind the oil drums. I got a fantastic mega-ping pong scare by Cast A I think. Every actor from the pre-waterfall room to the outside chainsaw attempted (and succeed) scaring me.

BloodenGutz Cast A: I adore y'all. I especially love opening scene H.R. BloodenGutz, the leprechauns (Y'all are constantly moving around.), ***Arbor Day girl (Oh. My. God. You are amazing.), ***Thankskilling Pilgrim (You know who you are. I saw you laughing at me. You're awesome.), and the elves (Y'all didn't ever get to scare me, but I still love you guys.).

Nightingales Overhead Finale Banshee: I'd absolutley love to have your job.

Winter's Night Little Girl: You've always tried to scare me, so thank you for that.

7: Every single one of you are incredible. I epecially love Vanity's minions for always remembering me through out the night. I have a little story to tell, so here you go... I started taking photos down by Vanity and the next thing I know her minions are started to creep me out, so I move down to Lust. Of course, Lusts minions get a jump scare out of me. Sloths minions take note, and get me running into Envys minions, they run me into Wraiths chainsaw minions, which makes me run over to Greeds minions, and to top it all off, Gluttonys minions for a good, last startle scare from me. It was a ping pong scare, but 7 times scarier.

Mel's Minions: Y'all are by far my favorite characters at the event this year. I truly do aore you guys... the way you walk, the way your coats flow in the wing, but most importantly,I love y'all's dare I say swagger. :P

Grown Evil Owl: The ground owl on the right closets to the exit into Kidzone got a great scare out of me.

Canyon of Dark Souls Stilt Walker: Y'all are very talented. Great tag teaming between the ground actors.

Acid Assault Wheelchair: You are by far the scariest and the most talented scarezone actor of this whole year.

Nightmaze: Y'all have improved greatly (from the reviews I've read) from opening weekend. From when I went through, I noticed you all were constantly moving the walls. I even got abruptly got cut off a couple times.

  7. I don't know who, but an actor (Cast B I think) pointed at me while in the queue during a cast change at did the "off with your head" gesture. Also someone commented about my Nightmares shirt in the water tank scenes I thinks. All of Cast A was absolutley fantasic on my run-through during the 6:15-7:00 period on Friday the 30th.

This house and H.R. BloodenGutz are pretty much tied for my very, very favorite house of this year.

If allowed, would any of y'all (the actors) mind sharing your role names and the scene names? I'm currently making a quick draft of a floor plan for my home haunt based on Saws N' Steam.

    :)

  8. Being my favorite characters of HHN 21, I'm quite dissapointed to hear that the sticks are gone. The sticks allowed the actor to discretely maneuver the crowd, then pop their sticks. With the chainsaws, I just can't see the minions moving as well as they did. Besides, the chainsaws just don't fit well at all with the minions, anyways.

  9. quick question...I've read every poem or short story involved in nevermore, but which story is being referenced by the scareactor holding the severed head, the one right before the pit and the pendulum scene?

It's a Spanish inquisitor holding Poe's severed head. It's basically in the same room as The Pit and The Pendulum. (The room right after the Tell-Tale heart is The Raven hallway.

  10. Friday, September 30th

*I apologize, for I didn't always note what casts I went through.

The Forsaken Finale Actors: I love the zip line effect in the finale. I was caught completely off guard while watching the gliding actor and the two ground actors got me wonderfully. It was one of my best scares of Thursday night! (Cast B)

The In-Between Winged Demons: Y'all are great and always seem to get scares from me. (Cast B)

Nevermore Spanish Inquisitor: Your e-prompt is quite loud. I've known where you are forever, but you always happen to get me. (Cast ?)

Saws N' Steam Cast A: Every single one of you were beyond incredible Friday near park opening. (Cast A)

Queue Video H.R. BloodenGutz: I love the actor in that video... a lot.

Arbor Day Girls: Favorite scareactors of Horror Nights. Y'all are amazing. (Both Casts, but especially B)

Thankskilling Pilgrim: You're definitely one of my other favorite actors of the event as well. You've gotten me every single time, and you know it. ;)

Holidays of Horror Cast A: I love you guys...

The Thing Cast A: Y'all are so intense! Keep up the great work!

Winter's Night Miniture Actor: I've learned you should never look directly into a miniture model. You must get about a thousand scares a night. (Cast A)

Sloth: Wow, you're really impressive. I love the way you move

Mel's Minions: I always got excited whenever I was about to enter this "area" last night. Y'all have my vote of "Creepiest Character". I love my minions...

Canyon of Dark Souls Stilts: All of y'all are very talented.

Nightmaze Actors: You all have improved greatly (from what I've heard) since opening weekend.

  11. Over the last few days a few houses have closed for a while before being opened later in the night. Would anyone happen to know why they were closed (or perhaps what usually causes a house to close)?

In other news, last night I finished up my HHN 21 trip. I must say, I found this year exceptional well done! I can't wait to read more reviews and see how everything evolves.
