Does any one have any ideas on how to display there collections, especially maps without damaging them?? I cant just put stuff on a shelf, because my cat will knock it off. I had to tape my cups down because he knocked off and cracked my HHN 14 cup. So any ideas would be great... and pictures. thanks
Well don't tape them to your walls. I used masking tape, and when I took the map off the wall, the paper from the map went with the tape. But luckily the overall map had a distressed look already, haha.
BTW: That's a lot of nice stuff you got there warp3dali3n. I understand how you could get the media gifts, but how'd you get the masks and AiW card?

Dragon-Con Parade 2010:
-
About to go to Dragon-Con downtown!
Edit: Just went to the parade and had a whole lot of fun! Took about 150 photos, alot of the Netherworld and Steampunk section. Some photos should be up on my Flickr and some of the good ones will be posted here soon.

Does anybody have a guess at which house is going to be humor-based?
Probally Zombiegeddon. But Mike did say, "That the comedy house is not the one that everyone's thinking of", so..........?
-
So there will be two facades?

All of these photos are great Cavalry!
Picture from Cavalry:
I don't get it. Where the Rat Lady keeps her rats.........? huh

Just go to the HHN Hollywood site and click on Film Contest - Vote
Just watched all of them, The Winter Stalker and Jasper were the couple that got a laugh out of me. Trick was pretty good and The Widower and Parasite were creepy, but not an overall good video.

So do we know which is the biggest house this year? Many have said that since some of the Mardi Gras Parade floats will be used in Zombie Gras that there is extra room in which the Horror Nights the Hallow'd Past house can use. I personally hope it's a HUGE house, after all, the past 19 years of HHN deserves to be featured in a big way.
I do think the huge house will be The Hallow'd Past for sure. Silver Screams and Scary Tales used only about 2/3 of the Parade Building, so if all (or most all of them are taken out), I'm sure we'll be being more than one extra room.
Heres the plan for Silver Screams. (Sorry I took the picture zooming in on the actual maze, not the building, so just guestimate the size of the building.

How does SnS look awesome so far?? Theres only one prop out.. or am i missing something D:
Look back a couple pages.
-
I spy Frankenstein's lab globes, Horrorwood clown trashcan, 07's bumper car, Horrowood sign, Palace Theater sign, Bride of Frankenstein gurney (now in SnS), collector mask, Alice's mirror, Friends Til the End doll from Barbie's room, cage from 07's Troupe Macabre, clown from 07's Jack's Funhouse, Cirque's wooden coffin by the Mr. Tiny heckler.

Yes... back to construction...
I remember in the conference call recaps that someone mentioned "open flames" in either a house or street. Which one was it? And do you think they will be using open flames in Hallow'd Past? Since it is supposed to be "the lantern" or something like it.
I guessing we will see open flames in either Twenty Years of Fear, Hades, or The Orfanage. And like in 08 how broken mirrors made a cameo appearance in every zone, I feel it will be the same thing this year, but with flames. Whether it be fireballs above the buildings on Hollywood Blvd. or the drawings of flames on the base of all the wooden poles in Esqueleto.
-
I could see the screen being used with framework around the screen to make it look like the lantern. Like 08 did, but with the lantern. Just a thought.

Pretty much the same thing Munchie said. But, over-30/middle-aged women scare pretty good.

These pictures were taken by Chris (TerraPhantom) and I found them on HHNRumors
It looks like there could be a black light illuminating the red outline on the coffin and on the fence, then an actor could jump out from the darkness.
*I need to edit my post on "Most Anticipated Scarezone" list.
EDIT: I found a video by hhnfan106 with all the construction photos of Esqueleto. The are some new photos in there as well.

I would be suprised (and hopefully A&D will do this), that they string black light bulbs from those wooden posts/poles. I would take on a rather Mexican approach. But I just hope they don't use the long black light rod/tube things.
About RTU prop controversy, what exact set-up had to be taken down?

^^ In The Catacombs video: "The Catacombs are the gate to hell." hmmm

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this and it probably isn't of much importance but if you go here and sit on the page the link/advert at the top for HHNXX has a flash file that displays various images. Most of them are pictures we've already seen but there's a few that we haven't.
Just thought I'd point that out since I haven't seen anyone mention it. Maybe someone who's better at decompiling could rip them and post them? Heh. Carry on.
The first picture with the "thing-esque" prop will probally be in Zombiegeddon. Why? It looks like the roof is white and have beams that resembles the Diaster queue. Interesting.

So if I go the nights of October 9 & 10 and the morning of the 11th, I won't be able to go on the Twenty Years of Fear tour? Only the regular tour?
-
Looks like we're gonna have one hell of a fun scare zone this year. It seems that the scaffolding is much lower than when we had it back in 08.
Yeah, it's much lower and "skinnier" (it's not as wide as it was in 08).

More like Photoshopped all the cuts and bruises off and threw a veil over her head.
They'll probably give her a codename like Gory Betty or Red Robin.
I wonder if Hallow'd Past will utilize ALL of the Parade Building's space. With 19 years of haunted houses to cover, I would imagine it would have to be a pretty massive house.
Yes, I'm assuming it will be quite large. Scary Tales and Silver Screams, used about one half of the building. Although, I doubt that every one of the floats will be at San Franciso, so I guess the rest willl be parked by the tents and outside of the Parade Building.

Hmmm. When I just visited the HHN website tonight the survey poped up, but that question that yoy mentioned I don't remember. I do remember a question along the lines of "have you gotten any information about this year from friends or family?".
