  1. In all due respect to what Carey, Ohio has brought us in the past... I cannot think of a lamer setting for an old casino or pier! Boardwalks of the east coast offer so much more in terms of imagery/characters. The Midwest... not so much. Unless we're going for cornfields. Cornfields are aplenty.
  2. Yeah, I immediately felt "Bioshock" as well. They might have drawn some inspiration for the look and feel off the game. I've said previously a Bioshock house would be amazing, even though I know it won't happen. I think Legacy is on the right path with the Prohibition Era boardwalk setting, however.
  3. Yup. Hadn't seen that press release yet, but you're certainly right. Those capitals aren't there for nothin'. As Ron said on Rumors, perhaps the Queen of Spades is significant?
  4. We started discussing the gambling theme back in May. If you go to page 35 of speculation, you can see our original ideas!
  5. And yes, Legacy has a point there too. The houses don't have to have a common thread, although I do hope there's some sort of relation between them, ala 2008.
  6. All we know so far is that it's a gambling theme, and the House always wins. Might not be Vegas/Casino themed, but deal with gambling. The music is definitely giving me that 20s/30s prohibition era feel that Legacy mentioned. I'm not feeling Vegas from this initial site. Gambling, gambling for your life, chance - these themes can go over many different genres of houses.
  7. Well, for once I was on the right path from the start! Sweet! I'm definitely excited. I think there are some amazing visuals that can be created with this theme!
  8. Yep. Looking very likely we're getting a gambling theme of some sort. I'm excited!!! EDIT: For the record, I'd just like to point out that we started discussing the gambling theme on May 4th... back on page 35 of speculation. Looks like we were on the right speculation page from the start!
  9. I would have to agree. And so far, I do NOT like being so shut off! *sigh*
  10. Yeah, they're definitely not wasting any time at Disaster! Now give us a darn morsel of a hint already!
  11. I definitely agree. I would love it and hate it at the same time! Sometimes the implied portions of horror are far scarier than the in-your-face "BOO" style of horror.
  12. Alright, I hadn't seen the updates since last year! AMAZING! I love the Skool house addition. Think it's my favorite! Wow... what an amazing artist you found too. Love it!
  13. He may be posting in a vague fashion similar to Emeric, but they are not the same person, if that's what you're implying. Yeah Legacy, I was thinking more along the lines of your last sentence there. That's a pretty wide scope to try to sift through for answers though. Good luck, you dedicated speculators!
  14. Oh god Jeramy, why???? Haha. Someone posted about Slenderman on the Rumors forum (Cody, perhaps?) a while back as some wishful thinking. I'd never heard of it before. Spent the whole rest of the night learning about Slenderman. Watched the first episode of the Marbles series and decided to put that off for a time when I wasn't by myself in a dark basement. *shivers* It's such a simple concept, and even though I know it's entirely made up, it really creeps me out. Just mentioning having a Slenderman lurking in a corner or in the background gives me goosebumps. Not enough to have a whole house built off the concept, but having a Slenderman cameo would probably give me nightmares for months.
  15. I think the person was referring to original plans with Eddie as the icon and the original plans pre-9/11 versus the event we were actually given, toned down and with Jack instead. But... I think that situation was quite different. I have no clue when information was given about the 2001 event. In hindsight we all know the story... I was only 16 at the time, so I have no recollection of how it actually played out.
  16. Obviously plans and ideas can still be changed/modified as the event draws near, I just think he would have been sent to France far earlier in the year if it was indeed for this HHN. I think it's more likely that he's there on business, but touring the sites as a tourist and posting pictures on facebook to share with his wife and family. Given the fact that he keeps deleting his facebook pages after too many fans add him, I doubt he would make pictures relating to HHN public. I will reiterate though, I still think a Catacombs house might happen. Just think people might be reading too much into the personal pictures he's posting on his personal facebook page.
  17. I wouldn't read that much into his not answering... he is in France, afterall. He might just be busy/not be able to immediately respond. Also - are these strangers asking questions on his facebook? Probably less likely to post replies to random people asking him about his personal business. While I still think a sequel to Catacombs might happen this year, I think it would be a bit late in the game for him to be in France researching for a house. Construction is already happening - why would he do research in France now?
  18. It depends on the theme/how they're using the chainsaws. Last year we saw a return of the CDT, which had mostly smaller guys. Saws n Steam, however, featured mostly big, scary guys. Depends on the zone. I'm not an SA, so I can't answer the first question for sure, but I doubt that would help. They're looking at your body type to fit you in a role. Better to be ready and willing to be anything they want you to be, rather than making requests to be something they might not need you for!
  19. Very unlikely, my friend. It's a New Age of Darkness. Don't think we'll see the return of SAW in Orlando any time soon. If ever. I do enjoy the image of the cathedrals though. And France, you say? Hmmm...
  20. Perhaps I'm not visualizing this thing properly... I've looked back at the pictures and I can't quite tell what you mean. The new pictures posted on the construction thread have me even more confused as to what's going on there. The original picture looked like there was a doorway directly in front of the exit to the tent, with the tallest portion facing the original queue. The new pictures have me disoriented.
  21. I'm leaning more toward the thought that they are NOT changing the entrance/exits to the tents, and instead this facade is actually pointing toward the normal queue, with the potential for a hidden final scare at the exit. Just seems unnecessary to change the queue directions for the tents.
  22. This is very different, hence our reactions. Normally that portion of the Sprung tent is used as an exit. Exits do not usually have facades. Since they're building onto the normal "exit" people are confused as to what might be happening. This could become the entrance, a very intricate/large facade, or be a final scare tacked onto the exit? We don't know!
  23. I'm still confused as to how the flow of traffic would work at the Sprung tents, if that's the case. I can believe that there may be two houses in the Parade building... that seems plausible. I just don't get how switching the entrance/exits of the sprung tents could possibly work. Thus, I'm not quite convinced that they're switching the entrances/exits just yet. Anyone have ideas on how a switch could work? Seems like the lines collide too closely there to function as anything other than exits.
  24. I think they keep asking Brian back because he's a great guy and seems like he would be easy to work with. He's extremely personable with his fans, so I presume he's genuinely a nice guy who Universal likes to work with/support. His shows are fun, although it would be nice to see brand new shows each time he returns to HHN. Anyway, it would be nice to have some variety. I'm not a Rocky Horror fan, but it'd be nice to alternate every few years with performers so there's always a variety in the magic/freak show/performance area.
