  1. I completely agree with you. I think consistent small updates keep the public interested and on edge... Universal is completely failing at that aspect of HHN. We've had at least a week of rehashing the same ideas on the forum because there's nothing new to work with. It becomes frustrating instead of exciting.
  2. Well, not sure I followed your train of thought Dr. Jimmy, but you did prompt me to think about an entirely new idea. No clue if it's on the right wave length, but you at least sent me in a new direction.
  3. I still think the "Thing" connection between these three is coincidence and that this particular clue was just supposed to be about DEATH/FATE. Not to say I don't believe a Thing house will be at this HHN, just saying I think we're delving too far. Why three? Because it gives the riddle a proper rhythm? I don't think we'll have three icons.
  4. But that involves disregarding the first portion of the clue... first portion only makes sense if all three people are "dead."
  5. This I know... I'm not a noob I was just trying to thank Dr. Jimmy because I understand the frustrations of trying to convey information subtly and having that information ignored because it wasn't spoon fed. I, myself, prefer to play things closer to the chest and keep the riddle alive. Just wanted Dr. Jimmy to know that people ARE listening - cryptic or not.
  6. Thank you, Dr. Jimmy, for explaining this in a way none of the rest of us would be able to do. Not sure even such a thorough explanation will convert certain folks, but you are being heard.
  7. P.S. Congrats on being cast yet again!!!
  8. Again, it pays to go back and read speculation before posting. I think I am going to become the preacher of this practice. Go back five or so pages. This has been discussed. If they were in fact the only ones without burn marks (I completely missed that fact and hadn't heard it mentioned before), then perhaps it was Universal's way of letting us know there was a potential for them to return at a later date. HOWEVER. Cindy will not be back this year. Of that, I am rather certain.
  9. Fairly certain that's not what your original post was implying, but that does make a bit more sense. I went in a different direction with the "seagull" role, dealing more with entertainment.
  10. I think there's much more logical roles for the "Seagulls" rather than cameras. Remember - these are people cast as "seagulls." I doubt they're going to attach scareactors to a wall dressed as cameras. So far, the Seagull I know of is female... if that helps guide your train of thought to other possibilities...
  11. No need to apologize - just trying to encourage the practice of catching up because it'll help speculation move forward instead of working in circles. We all miss things from time to time!
  12. This has actually already been posted before. Always a good idea to read back through the speculation before creating a new post =)
  13. And Universal does tend to have some sort of military presence. Army in the Thing in 2007, NAZI zombies in 2009, the DoWs in 2010... wouldn't be that strange for Universal to consider doing a war-themed house, especially in an alternative realm like you suggested. And the controversy for Vietnam stems more from public reaction - WWI and WWII were supported by the American people and are a safer genre to explore. Vietnam was heavily protested, and the soldiers were pretty heavily disrespected when they returned to the states. It's generally a shameful time for American history, and I think Universal would be sensitive enough to leave it alone. Dr. Jimmy was hinting at a possible WWI-themed haunt, however. So perhaps you're on the right track with a war-themed house, just not in the right time period. Perhaps the soldiers stumbled upon something they weren't supposed to while fighting overseas? Who knows. It would be fun to have yet another period house, if this does appear at HHN.
  14. I think you're on the right track about the two icons working together, possibly with one being in charge of the other. If the icons are indeed Fate and Chance, I could certainly see Chance being in yet another submissive role to the stronger persona of Fate. Good points about the game of 21 =) As for Vietnam, not sure I see Universal touching that one. Of course, didn't think they'd have NAZI zombies either, so... guess I could be wrong on their level of sensitivity. But I think Vietnam was a little too real and too big of a controversy in American history for them to incorporate into a haunted attraction.
  15. Don't worry, it's not your fault speculation has shifted toward Chance. Fact of the matter is that the red hair/dagger is out of the ordinary and points to Chance. This does not have to be the clown version of Chance - she has no real backstory, so I'm not sure why people are disappointed at the possibility of her return. As Legacy has pointed out a couple times now, Universal said farewell to the icons... but Chance was never an icon. She was a secondary character who the general public recognize and seemed to enjoy. I think giving Chance her own story prior to meeting Jack would be quite interesting.
  16. The timeline hasn't been set yet, but this could be Chance's life prior to meeting Jack. Perhaps she was a legitimate showgirl or something a little classier before she met Jack and joined his crew. Also, going off of what JWFearman said... if she is indeed a minion to Fate, that might just be her personality type!
  17. Yeah, I know people have been reading the Queen card literally, just trying to point you in the "right" direction because I think you'll catch on. I don't think the queen or the word queen has anything to do with an icon. But I do think that both cards represent concepts which will be used this year... perhaps for dual purposes.
  18. Very interesting, Dr. Jimmy. Legacy and I caught your hint at the 1910s decade and were researching possible ideas last week. We did not follow far enough down the rabbit hole, it seems. LOL.
  19. Jeramy, I think you are thinking of the "queen" too literally. Think not of the Queen of Spades as an icon, but think of what the card represents. Also - take note of her appearance, the dagger included. This is obviously a clue, as she's not just your average Queen of Spades. Also, hopefully this isn't too out of line, but seriously people - please do us all a favor and read back on the pages of spec you missed before posting! I feel like we've been just repeating concepts and ideas ever since the website updated because people aren't catching up on spec before sharing their ideas. It gets frustrating to just walk around in circles because the ideas aren't being built upon!
  20. Yes. I have wanted that type of feel for HHN since my husband started playing Bioshock. Love it!
  21. Really hope you're wrong about that last statement, Dr. Jimmy. I am not a fan.
  22. I don't think LT will be returning in any fashion this year. The game never really got going last year, and I don't see how it would currently mesh with the theme thus far. I think LT is on hiatus.
  23. I loved Leave it to Cleaver as well, but I just don't think that storyline has anywhere else to go. We all know the secret. Loved it, and hope for a similar house in the future, but I think the story is spent.
  24. I think the Boardwalk Prohibition feel is quite different from the UPT, even if they're from the same era. I don't see any problem with returning to such an iconic time in history, especially when there's so much imagery that can be produced with that type of setting.
  25. Humor houses tend to end up as my favorites each year. Loved PS: HFTH, Leave it to Cleaver, etc. The one-liners you hear from the SAs just always stick with me in the humor houses! And I have heard rumors about a humor house, so I think it's safe to say you'll be pleased. Regarding the megaphone... no clue about that =)
