  1. Is the hat or the playing cards out for purchase and if yes, how much? Another typo house shirt which is funny because my first shirt was 07's house shirt and i know they wouldn't like to call this years Thing House the same as a couple years because it'll bring the idea of it's a rehash house so thats why they dropped Assimilation but someone should of told merch people as it seemed like it was planned to be named as The Thing from the beginning when they announced it at August/July.
  2. To avoid the crowd ill go counterclockwise tomorrow... !.The Foresaken 2.The In-Between 3. Nevermore 4. Saws & Steam: Into the Machine 5. B&T? 6. H.R Bloodenguts 7.The Thing 8. Nightingales 9. Winter's Night "The More Important thing than beating the House is Beating The Crowd"
  3. Mistake or not i do deeply prefer the house shirt. Wish they actually put luck on the shirt (not drawing) and for the Bill and Ted Shirt i might only get if i have enough money and in the end of the event because i already have the Bill and Ted shirt last year and i think i prefer it more because it doesn't have that knock off title in front of the shirt that this years have. I only get the house shirt if it has a great saying that makes sense based on the theme or story which "What Happens in Bill and Ted's stay in Bill and Ted's' seem very cheap for a 20th anniversary. So i'm getting another house shirt for this year. And a lanyard "The House Always Win", Cards, And a hat and/or hoodie if they don't cost a lot. I'm making my purchases this wednesday but still i loved that HHN expanded so much this year on merch. I wonder does the mug count as a refill cup/souvenir cup? Or how about a regular park hours/Universal general souvenir cup?
  4. Out only my four year experience( 5 this year): -Nightmare On Elm Street: DreamWalkers aka Sleepwell infomercial (made this house scarier especially being my first real queue videos it made me have nightmares only from that.) -Leave It To Cleaver (puts you into the mood of entering Meetz Meats and in a laughter kind of a mood) -Zombiegeddon (tells you everything about Z.A.P and pumps you up for zombies and the music was so great it was a treat to wait in line for 30 min) I hope this year and the years to come brings back the queue videos is the only way i keep my sanity in a huge line filled of drunks.
  5. 1.Acid Assult- I wasn't interested at this at first because it sounded like another Containment but after the tweet up, the construction pictures, and 3D projection (made my jaw fall off for a bit because of how much i know the Tribune from regular park hours and the years of hhn) i loved the look of the scareactor and the props out and seemed like more work was put up for it and looked so great with the right lighting (which hhn always master) i can see all the more possibilities and just can't wait to see the decaying city destroyed and anarchy right infront of me. 2.Grown Evil -I just love the idea of them actually using the central park to its advantage and the props already in place makes me wonder of the creatures that lurk and central park looked very great over the years with the pumpkins from 07 so this was an excellent choice just wish its now and not 2 days... patience 3.Nightmaze- I moved this up one slot up because if 7 does tank and is actually another photo op scarezone i have to go through here. I'm just worried that i can't do this because of the whole this scarezone needs to be in dark and i always arrive pretty damn early so this wouldn't of cut if i already seen all the scareactors before they get the opportunity for a scare but i just hope the ever-changing scarezone idea is well worth the wait and hoping that the scareactors look great and not hooded or colored black camoflague and actually something terrifying. 4.Your Luck Has Run Out- hopefully one icon scarezone can be great within these current years and how much i love Lady Luck character i just wish that crowd wont only make her into a photo op invite. 5. 7-I really hate photo op areas which seem like this is it with the 3 changes but after i take my pictures ill be in much bore of the waste of an opportunity. 6. Canyon of Dark Souls- Heard that they would place many of stilt walkers here and i never get scared of stilt walker except when they are really well hidden (the "tree" scareactor in 08) and this location doesn't seem very well to hide stiltwalkers, if there is regular ground scareactors they might also be stuck in a small open location as the only thing that will interest me is the effects and i only heard of pyro which is a regular in every year of HHN so nothing too interesting here. Plus i have to make my way to go through this because how i use the inbetween exit as a shortcut into Nevermore this better be worth it. Ideas like these make me crave hhn so much this year and i can't wait for my strolls around the park at night always exciting and abnormal to say the least.
  6. 1.Nightingales:Blood Prey-From Tank You/Incoming! game to the story of Edmond Clark i was very interested in this for particular reasons, !. is the location of the soundstage and where they can actually make into WW1 and can't wait to hear the random explosions to the screams of war into a camp filled with the sound of Nightingales noises with the last of the soldiers getting feast upon. 2. The Creature of the Nightingale makes me very anticipated as it's a new, original creatures that seem very interesting to say the least and can't wait to see their other abilities into place in this environment. 3. All the effects that can be placed onto this to fake bullet rifles to hopefully a feature of the Nightingale that we have yet to see perhaps and A&D has full range so hopefully this sign is for the better as a sign of the departure of the icon/reunion year onto a new chapter. 2.The In-Between- I was to kinda dum down with the idea of a 3D house as well but the story and the possibilities and effects are beyond limits into a realm of the unknown and A&D seem very proud of themselves and besides i have not gone through a 3D house thus yet because of timing difficulty in 07 so this seems a batch of fresh air. Also i love the idea of the comic book and the campus story seem so interesting if we do enter that world and can't wait to see the creatures within the in-between 3. Winters Night:The Haunting of Hawthorne Cemetery-I love the idea of HHN going old-school ideas of a haunting cemetery and how awesome of detail can it become with the shiver and the "snow" in the air going through the crypts and it seem so fun just picturing old fashioned fog and snow into a haunted cemetery plus they have the advantage of the Soundstage to make this into a great one. 4.The Thing-I deeply in love with the Carpenter version and can't wait to see the new movie plus i just love seeing the new transformation of the thing before anyone else and i also do enjoy most movie houses from the past plus with the help of the old effects from couple years ago and the help of the crew from the new movie can make this a solid house. 5. Nevermore:The Madness of Poe-I wasn't so into the whole making Poe stores and poems into a house but it would be interesting picking out the scenes and how the look of the house be played out as the few images/video seem pretty great on my behalf. 6.The Forsaken- This is down here because well i have no more room lol. This house seem pretty cool if it was i hope to picture it with swashbuckling spaniards from a watery grave takeover a spanish fort i may be in for a treat and hopefully higher on my list. 7. Saws&Steam Into the Machine-I thought last year it was tied for best scarezone with HHNXX but i can't see this into a house very much because it was chainsaw-based and fog based which both work very well in a scarezone but i thought thats why it was so perfect the knowledge of not knowing with all the fog and the sounds of chainsaw filed the air but as most know we can't put real chainsaws (without the chain) into a house because of the emitting gas so im scared it will lose the two things it had going for it... old-fashined chainsaw scares (as it will be dedicated to sound effect speakers) and the knowledge of the unknown as you could not see who lurks but Jaws is so compact and you would hear/see what is coming next. 8. H.R. Bloodenguts: Holidays of Horror-Why is this here if i did enjoy Psychoscraphy: Home for the Holidays, Leave it to Cleaver, and Zombiegedon? Easy it doesn't seem that original, the story is deeply lacking as of now with very little detail to a comedy house as they had before they give you the feel of the house without giving as much away and can't wait for the cruel dark humor to unravel throughout the course of this house but i feel like im going to see is the same pulled jokes i have seen before as even horror movies do make fun of most holidays already and H.R or Larry seem to bland out to me unlike Sam Meetz or the guys from Z.A.P seem so hilarious and im very sad that A&D just stamp this as "Another Dark Humor House" (because how little they describe it in the tweetup compared to the rest) Even though i did say some bad things for the last two houses im still pumped as ever this year with the great theme and selection of houses and i can't wait to journey into these words many of times. Only 2 days! (for EP)
  7. Everything looks very interesting this year with this new shirt having a new format more than likely i will buy the house shirt (as always) but damn with the addition of the pack of cards, hat, and hoodie with a whole revision of merchandise... im scared for my wallet. So they have two different lanyards this year? pretty interesting
  8. This one is near last in my scarezone anticipation list because of the word "stilts" i don't see them as scary because i can see them a mile away so hopefully i wish they can hide the only scareactor on stilts that scared me was the tree creature from 08 because of how great it blended in to it's environment with that saying i hope the "canyon" is better at night. Plus i have to forcefully make time to go through it because my trail starts in the forsaken then the In-Between which exit is next to Nevermore so hopefully the walk back is worth it.
  9. Recently just got Early Screaming Tickets and in the same day i plan on purchasing my FFP+w/express and the house shirt just for bragging rights god i can't wait only 3 days and i'll test my luck.

  10. Well you had to bring me back from the grave for this, ok. Lol perhaps yes this kinda includes a Bioshock-esque motif that their utopias that are corrupt in the end but we barely know the history of the Horizon if it was paved in good intension like Rapture or was actually a set up trap all along. And we know Rapture became the nightmare because of the dependency of ADAM but how would "The Machine" fuel the "officials" to forcefully take citizens into the machine would it only be good to power the city? or something more because i believe whoever is in charge (perhaps the man that you hear in the audio clip and last year on the stage) Why bring citizens in to only make them fuel only? for personal growth it seems so i believe it's more of a set-up from the start and less of a progression which results in not really relating to the utopia falls which seem is the only thing that relates Horizon and Rapture that is being "both are utopias that in the end leads to bloodshed" which doesn't fill me with wow finally a Bioshock house. And the obvious things posted by armyofrobots makes this sorta of connection a bit pointless. Until i see either a huge Scuba Diving Suit fighting off a person of horizon as he shoots lightning off his hands as a little girl screams on for the man in the Suit then i'll believe you. But just putting that in the back of my head that "both are utopias that in the end leads to bloodshed" it still won't matter when i get scared from a guy who has a chainsaw and wearing bits of steam machinery screaming at me.
  11. I say that they wanted to use the double park format again as according to profits it was a huge profitable year and maybe the most money they ever got for a whole year. So like any theme park company they will try to copy the perfect formula. Enough room for new ideas or old unused ideas to come back to the spotlight. Using both unused stages (Toon Lagoon and Fear Factor), operated marquee rides that will suck up the crowds yes keep HP and his land operational but no tampering but maybe old fashion halloween decor (as shown in some movies) to keep the theme throughout the lands. And equal distribution of houses and scarezones can help the guest flow (3-5 houses in each park and 4-5 scarezones in each park). But i only hope this new idea is fresh and not movie based as we already had a dedicated movie year and a reunion year back to back and have no relations with any of past years icons which will most likely happen.
  12. After Halloween, Ill be watching a marathon of horror movies then SAW 3D and another horror movie that i must choose then watch horror movies on the internet after that happens ill be focused on school work and life
  13. The small problem is very far distance between the two locations (707 steps and Hallow'd Past) so I hope it's not really a hassal for people to locate here from there.
  14. 9:45 at Battery Park... I'll try my best. Well i might do the SS houses first if I'm already going to the tent/paradise houses with you guys. I'll be rocking out with the shirt very nicely.
  15. Most scarectors just want to play the role they are played with. If you get offended quite easily there are always different Halloween type events all around the parks that does not contain any of that. But don't worry most scareactors don't really verbal insult people much except the ones with a big r-rated mouth like Jack you will come and expect that. Remember there key audience is rude teenagers(which I am) and drunken/fun adults so it's kinda expected.
  16. Orphanage:10 Havoc:11 Catacombs:10 Hallow'd Past: 11 Zombieogoden: 10 Hades: 10 Legendary Truth:10 Psychoscarphy:9 B&T:2 Meance:1 Malice: 1 Nights:7
  17. To the chainsaw guys(one in 20 years of fear sz and another in Hallow'd Past) that screamed out "cut your hair"... thank you and no because I'm recognized by that it seems(don't even know if they know me via this site or not either way it was fun) And to the Mary Shaw in HHN:20 years of fear sz keep targeting me and scaring the hell out of me also running into my foot with your "heelys" . Funny thing is my first ever house of HHN was Dead Silence:Curse of Mary Shaw so I wonder do i know this individual?
  18. So make a house about a familiar icon of greek mythology and not put him in?
  19. If you have room for one more and if im not bothering anyone then I might be able to participate. And as you see below I will bring my shirt for the photo.
  20. While wearing HNN shirt i was approached by one of the CDT talking about nightmares it made me laugh that the afterthoughts are still interesting in character even without the chainsaws. Wonder who was he? anyways it's fun to watch the formation drilling on teenage girls.
  21. I'm kinda proud to say that i officially was the first person from the general public to go inside Shadowcreek at Employee Preview. But I have to say the story lacked but the scareactors did there job and surpassed it but i think the blame should be on A&D for not making a story or good costume designs as they are typical army fashion and wished it was more mutated super army soldiers with muscles and bullets up the whazoo.
  22. Best house still in my heart. But all i wish is to see Hades because the whole house is fitted around his appearance and no one never seen him yet. And were almost in our last week. Please correct me if i'm wrong if you saw Hades. EDIT: the biggest reason this is my favorite house is because of Medusa and still has a scare factor for me as i went to every house 4-7 times
  23. 3 Days of Horror finished... 2 days of HHN (EP and Opening Night) and 1 night in HOS (Saturday) a job well done I say... just hope they do the same thing to 6/7 houses and keep ALONE so i can try out for myself.

  24. That's very good to hear that hope its not just lights and something to keep my entertainment outside of the park. Update: All the Houses Reviews have been added above.
  25. Well here's my take of yesterday's event... I went to only all 8 houses, 5 scarezones(didn't go to Esceleto), and sadly no shows. Warning Spoilers Ahead (nothing that will completely destroy the good time you'll have just a warning to the ones who is spoiling haters) Overall: The lines weren't that chaotic as other years in the past but Horror Nights: Hallow'd Past was the most i had to wait for (30 minutes) The Que Experience that was promised to be better than ever... with the Que Videos and the text messaging experience but the sad thing is all 8 houses had the same Que video playing and it's only past pictures and videos(past que videos included) but most of the footage was from the archives/cabinets site but some new footage from HHN's past so it wasn't anything impressive to look at and the text messaging didn't work (most likely will be operated in Opening Night as always) The Video in front of the park: It's the same video that was the prize of Warehouse Exxpirence but extended version with more showings of the icons, icon "collectables" (the award for each game in W.E), The XX lantern, and Fear. Afterwords, a good showing of the lantern for a good minute and a half. Yup that's all. Now the thing you came for: Houses: My first house was HAVOC: Dogs of War and the fun thing is that i ran to it and i was the first one to ever go inside Shadow Creek's military base... so it was a special and awfully scary feeling but the house in itself was pretty damn good scares here and there but the atmosphere wasn't that great as it seems like your going into the same room over and over it needed more of a variety like a training room there and a lab there but the scares themselves were above average but not the scariest house in the park but the whole no one is in front of me got me very good. And i thought the serum would make them look more super powered or mutant looking but just average army people with big boils were stalking around the base but as my first house this year it did a solid performance. The Facade looked damn good for a tent house (best facade that is not in a SS). I even took a picture but still needs to upload it to photobucket. Story lacked as you don't see much of what happened before the effects took place or how does this new power actually is displayed it was just argh army guy with machine guns and boils. Story-2/5 Skulls Atmosphere-3.5/5 Skulls Fear/Scares- 4/5 Skulls Overall-3.5/5 Skulls Second house of the night was Catacombs when i tried to go to Horror Nights there was a huge line and it didn't open yet so i did Catacombs which was close by. The facade was okay for trying to represent a dig site but it seemed cheap as it was only exploring lights and a cheap black tarp around it... something you don't want to see for a wait for 30 minutes to end up seeing a black tarp that you use to gather up your garbage. But its interesting that there are small bits of information before the house about the black plague but didn't get to read it as the line moved inside so it was a good idea but they need to display it better. When you enter it seemed like the old Dueling Dragons' cave that was used to be filled with skulls and bones but throughout the house its the same and the same over and over except the final 2-3 rooms but it seemed like A&D tried for making the fear of claustrophobia play in this house but with that it was easy to see point out the boo holes throughout the house. But the costumes seem great as the "masks" are related from the time of the black death as they try to stop spreading the disease using those specific masks so it was good in that way but everyone wears the same outfit/hat and wished to see more citizens of that time period coming back from the dead. The last rooms were the special treat that got a couple of scares from me. Story-4/5 Skulls Atmosphere-2/5 Skulls Fear/Scares- 3/5 Skulls Overall- 2.5/5 Skulls Third house of the night was a special one for me... Zombiegeden this house was pretty awesome as the story was very entertaining and fun . The facade is average looking as you enter you think this will be the dark humor house like Psychoscaraphy:Home for the Holidays or Leave It to Cleaver but it quickly changes into a true mean red horror halfway through the house as the zombies break the chains and turn maniac so it had a great blend of both themes way better than the past houses that was told above. There were scares but not often that i hoped for. And the look of it seemed very fun to go through. It's a house worth eating your brains to get back in line for this house. Btw this is the only house i seen that has it's own fully original Que Video and boy it was fun(as good as LITC or even better) sad thing is i only catch a clip. Don't want to ruin your fun filling you in to much of the story but if you like cruel humor houses you'll adore this one. Story-4.5/5 Skulls Atmosphere-4/5 Skulls Fear/Scares-3/5 Skulls Overall-4/5 Skulls My forth house was very much one of the best in the event in my opinion. Hades:Gates of Ruin. From the Gates(facade) to the end it was pretty damn well neat it looked great but the only thing i wished for is to see the "man of the hour" more as i didn't get to see him but the rest were awesome topnotch. The costumes are very effective and illustrates perfectly what most of the creatures would look like which was rare for this year. Most of the scares were great, the length was reasonable even though i loved this house (best house of the year in my case). But lets say this can change if i get more scares from the other house as in every room someone got me especially in one room but why ruin the surprise? Don't stare or you will stay like that forever. Story: 4/5 Atmosphere: 4/5 Fear/Scares: 5/5 Overall 4.5/5 The fifth house being Psychoscarphy:Echoes of Shadybrook which was for me one of the worst at least in Catacombs i got scared in this one no scares or jump-scares throughout the whole house and I'm the jumpy one even if it's bad but maybe i can blame it was a bad day for them. But the story is so plain just Shadybrook is closed but the inmates are still running wild! But it seemed very tame unlike past houses that you see something cruel or humorous i know they are trying a serious house but it didn't fit well for this franchise. And sadly no smells to remember. The costumes themselves seemed like they got them from their first two houses and just add more blood. The atmosphere is something you would already seen if you attended a psychoscraphy house that is not home for the holidays but even with that it still seems dull looking at the same room over and over. Bad way to say goodbye to a great franchise. Story:2/5 Atmosphere: 2.5/5 Fear/Scares:1/5 Overall: 2/5 Next House was Horror Night:The Hallow'd Past which i have a love and hate relationship as i always wanted to see this kind of house but there were for me not to many scares and they didn't use all the years only the recent ones and only two houses/street that was before HHN 16and their scenes are cut short) was added so it wont be an awesome history lesson that most younglings of the event would love. The scares were okay nothing to memorable just only 2 jumps and then out but it's fun to see some house scenes you adore coming back for one last chance for spotlight. The costumes seems like they would couple of years ago. The House was a small length for me as the beginning was just a ohh and aww showing of the warehouse doing nothing until the spiral room and then a couple of familar scareactors come and great you but they really need to make this about the 20 years of fear and not just collecting from 5 years. The atmosphere seemed like the real prop warehouse with house scenes was pretty well done but not much scareactors scaring which was the downfall of this awesome house. Story:4/5 Atmosphere 3.5/5 Fear/Scares: 3/5 Overall: 4/5 A special house for the fans was The Orphanage: Ashes to Ashes was interesting at first as you been welcomed in but in the middle seems like The Schoolhouse from there on and not really Cindy's house as i seen her one time. If you had scares in the schoolhouse (which i didn't but the scarezone seemed awesome at the time) you will get scared here but there seems like a super size version of the schoolhouse. Same costumes only add burned orphanage story and cindy. But if you really wished for a whole house dedicated to her you might get dissapointed to see the results (i know i did). Only got one-two scares in this one. But the story makes up as it looks like they did their job on making a burned orphanage. Story: 3/5 Atmosphere: 3.5/5 Fear/Scares: 2/5 Overall: 3/5 Last but not least, Legendary Truth: The Wyandot Estate was pretty damn good on the scare factor as this is crawling(when you see the hallway youll get my meaning) with paranormal activity (T.C.E Lvl 1) but you won't see much of LT in this only in the intro and the background. The ghost were just glowing masked people with old fashioned attire so it was okay. Had a couple scares (4-5) so it was pretty awesome in a way during a couple of rooms but the rest lacked. It is a pretty interesting how they pull off the original Haunted House and it seemed very real. Story: 3.5/5 Atmosphere: 3.5/5 Fear/Scares: 4/5 Overall: 3.5/5 Scarezones and Photos coming up in a bit.
