  1. Looks like a great year for Rob Zombie fans. I like some of his music and that's about it. His stuff is just too derivative and not clever enough to feel like a homage to the time period Mr. Zombie clearly wishes he was living in. I mean, he actually seems like an ok guy and a total geek, so I can't "hate" him, but I love 70's horror and just can't get into his vanity projects. I think the Corpses house could be good though. Seems like it will make a much better haunted house than film for me. Just not excited at all about the Zone though. Being gross and unpleasant isn't scary or interesting enough. I envision it being like the Bone zone from 2017. The rest of the Zones could be good or awful. Will just have to see where the creative direction flows. Hoping Anarch-ade is video game related. Pretty excited about all the houses this year.

To keep discussion going what is everybody’s most anticipated house this year based off the current speculation? I think mine is House of 1000 because of how great the sets should be!

Tough to choose. I am very excited for Ghostbusters and am intrigued by how they will do it. After Poltergeist last year, I'm pretty sure they can make it a fun house. Universal Monsters is tied for first and I'm also super interested to see what the underwater house will be like.

  3. I'm weirdly obsessed with the idea of a house spilling out into the streets as a zone. I thought the Invasion idea would have worked for that. Maybe have an interstellar zoo gone wrong type house and accompanying zone. Maybe that would impact the overall variety of the event though and it would have to be a can't miss idea to pull off successfully, but I think it's possible. Could work for Klowns.

I had the same Q, so went searching another forum.  My summary is probably not fully accurate.  Ifrit clue suggested announcement yesterday or today.  A bet over Butterbeer was made as to the announcement: Creepshow vs HOTC vs Classic Monsters.  Creepshow was seen as a strong rumor for this year - possibly even started build.  (King Creepshow vs TV series Creepshow was still being volleyed about.)  Then someone suggested that it was Creepshow, and that it had been "Screamed" (or "Conjoured" if you prefer), which was in line from a recent Murdy tweet where he said he was thrown a curveball.  Announcement was not made.  (Evidently, something is happening with Marvel this weekend, so announcements are now expected in May.)  Someone concluded that Creepshow was now off the table; Legacy said whoa there, Nelly! (as he did here).

Did I sum that up about right, Legacy?

Sorry. Watchin' Endgame. Yup. That's what I was talking about.  And how I'd describe it. And imploded, not exploded. Could be re-inflated.

Also, I don't think anyone chose Creepshow as the announcement, so no Butterbeer was won. I picked Classic Monsters and wasn't correct. Shocker. I'm wrong a lot.

  5. No. Stop this. I can't get excited for this two years in a row before proof.  Who would Murdy be meeting with that he was a huge fan of growing up? Unless he's having tea with Mr. King, I'm not sure who that would be.

I'd like this too much to be true.

It's probably The Mule. Meeting with Eastwood about The Mule.

Are we concrete about the Usher being the icon for 29 or?

I don't think we're concrete on anything other than at least one Stranger Things house at this point. And probably AoV.

    EDIT

I think maybe "Freaks" is Hellraiser after all. Could work for either, but Freaks may be too obvious? Also, Mystique made a comment and it could have been either further clue or herring.

  7. They really needed a Barney in the doorway going to Seeds. He wouldn't even have to break contractual obligation. He could just be Barney. It would have been hilarious and possibly terrifying.

also, here is my brief event review:

Had to fly back to Vermont today and I had one of the best times of my life at the event. I can say I liked Poltergeist and Dead Exposure the best, but there is a 7-way tie for third. Everything was great. My girlfriend and I went through Seeds all by ourselves which was kind of magical and Blumhouse as well. I would have loved any 80's property instead of another Blumhouse, but the scareactors were outstanding and I had a ton of fun. I was in a long conga for Halloween, but it was like the house was out to get me. I got everything both times I did it. I loved it. Stranger Things was an excellent re-creation of the show with great actor likenesses and I went through enough to see all of them. Scary Tales was so yummy in my tummy! Carnival was super cool and extra fun to see behind the screams, Slaughter Sinema was a ton of fun and is now well represented in my wardrobe, Trick r Treat is maybe last because it felt short to me, but I still quite enjoyed it. Vamp and Chucky were my favorite zones and the Klowns were crazy entertaining. Tradition had the Pumpkins had foggy lighting I so enjoy and Harvest wasn't much to write webpage about, but I liked the big puppet arm guys. On Horror Nights days, I walked 10 miles a day and loved every minute of it. I've only been to 2007 and 2008 in Hollywood and 25, 27 and 28 in Florida, but this is by far my favorite year. I feel very stupid for any disappointment I had that the original list of properties were wrong. I think I'm going to need to find a way to go every year from here on in

Can confirm that two nights with stay and scream is adequate. We split the front and back portion of the houses for either night. We can do 3-4 per night within the first 60 minutes and then circle back to do a favorite or two another 1-2 times before it gets too crazy (more than an hour wait).

I've been going for over 10 years and travel from Wisconsin. I've got this process down. One night we stay in Finnegans for dinner and front lot. The other night we stay at Simpsons for burgers and back lot. Feel free to message me with any questions so we can keep this thread on topic :)

Great strategy. I travel from Vermont so also like to go in knowing what I'm doing.
