haha, what made you change your mind?

If they’re doing a mostly movie IP style event Universal. Movie idea IPs wouldn’t work at IOA unless if they can do something with the islands( a la Islands Of Fear 2002) and revamp it.

but they can still do the IPs and make original scare zones.

But there needs to be a theme altogether either way.

This is quite interesting. What if Netflix knows the other IP's coming to the event. It's not totally out of the realm of possibility that Universal would tell them who they would be sharing the spotlight with. Heck, for all we know this Universal/Netflix partnership could be bigger than we originally thought. With Disney soon to launch their own streaming service and pull ALL Disney content off Netflix, it makes since for Netflix to want to partner with another big media giant. I already have this feeling that as we exit Stranger Things, we will get handed a "flyer" for Netflix with a free trial code on it. What if they include all the IP's (minus the new Halloween of course but we could get the old ones) on the Netflix platform before the event starts and send out a free month to everybody that buys a ticket on line to the event so they can watch the movies and shows that will be a house or zone.

Interesting. This would be an amazing gimmick!

Are we sure that King would have control on whether the WB IT movie comes to HHN? What if it's WB intervening, not King? Would we know?

    Where'd you hear this?

There was some guy on YouTube. That talked about a tweet from John murdy on Easter. About a chest bursting peep. But the guy didn’t seem excited.

then again murdy could’ve used it as an April fools who knows.

In my opinión, it won’t happen. Since Disney may or may not want to intervene

  4. Alien is rumored for Hollywood.

In Orlando, I think the next announcement will be a horror movie. Possibly Im guessing something with Time Warner.

Halloween(if it’s announced): probably won’t be announced until July. Since a trailer will come out by that time.

Everything else feels up in the air. I feel we”ll have more IP helmed houses, with 1 or 2 original. Unless do we know anything about a show coming?

It's been a while since I messaged here, so I'm just going to say what I believe will be coming this year, from most likely to not likely:

    1.  Strangers Things
      • -___-   I mean come on, it's already confirmed <_<
    2. AHS: Cult
      • It makes the most sense, since Universal probably got into a 3-year contract with AHS to have 3 seasons in 2016, 3 more in 2017, and catch up to the entire series with their season 7 house this year. It's logical.
    3. Blumhouse's Halloween
      • I feel like they will have it this year since they've had both Blumhouse movies AND the Halloween franchise multiple times in years past, so what better way to have the best of both with the upcoming Halloween movie coming out this fall! It certainly does not hurt at all. However, in the 25% chance this doesn't happen, expect The Conjuring to take its place, even though I highly doubt that (I'll explain that when I get there further down.)
    4. A Nightmare on Elm Street
      • If this does happen, I will be pleasantly happy, but not surprised. HHN has had ANOES since 2007 (not accounting for All Nite Die-IN) and Freddy was in Freddy vs Jason in 2015. It would be easier to have A Nightmare on Elm Street since they've had the rights for years, so there would be no problems or concerns bringing it in this year, especially with the rumors of an 80's-themed year as well as the fact that HHN has been having classic houses as of late (AWIL, Halloween, Exorcist, The Shining, etc.) If this doesn't happen, then I feel that either the rumored Alien or The Thing will take its place.
    5. Trick 'R Treat
      • It got SOTY last year, and it's such a fan favorite. HHN has had subsequent years where a scarezone became a house the following year (Saws and Steam). I'd be a little surprised if it did not happen this year, especially since it's fresh in everyone's mind, and it's got great house potential.
    6. IT
      • Now this is quite the peculiar one. Very peculiar indeed. You see, I believe that the complication of leaks and purposely created "false rumors" were done with IT in mind. From all the information I've heard, if A&D had already anticipated and knew of the leakers, then "it" (hehe) would make sense to have IT, one of the most popular Horror IPs in recent years covered with false rumors of "it" getting cut. After all, IPs fall through almost all the time. It is a very plausible and logical rumor that people would believe, albeit begrudgingly. On the other hand, IT could have very well "fallen though," and IT may not come this year. If that's true, then I am 100% sure that The Lost Boys will take its place. IT's pretty much 50/50.

Now for the 4 that I believe will Probably NOT come this year, from maybe to absolutely not:

    1. John Carpenter's The Thing
      • I'm going to be honest: I want The Thing to come to Horror Nights this year. Really bad. Even more so than IT  . The 2011 Prequel was my first House at HHN, and the 1982 version I saw the day after coming back from HHN that year brought me into horror. I want this house so much. After hearing rumors of it coming back this year, I was so happy and hopeful about seeing it at HHN 28. That being said, it may not be likely that this will come this year. However, with the whole 80's vibe that this year might have, The Thing is not completely off the table, so there's some hope. If anything, it will replace either ANOES or Trick 'R Treat.
    2. Alien
      • As much as I see it being here this year as I do with A Nightmare on Elm Street, I don't see them BOTH happening this year; it's an either-or scenario. Even though Alien v Predator was at HHN in 2014, I see Alien as a whole new monster, and since I'm not sure how much of a hold HHN has on the rights to this IP, I see ANOES as the most likely possibility, especially since we know that HHN has the rights to the popular IP.
    3. The Lost Boys
      • Again, I see this being an either-or scenario with IT, with this coming if IT doesn't; but, since I feel that IT may be coming, I don't think this will be there. Either way, which ever does come, I will be extremely happy.
    4. The Conjuring
      • With the $1 billion lawsuit that was just settled a few months ago concerning this franchise, I am pretty sure that this IP is not happening at all this year. Planning for the next HHN takes place the day after the end of the current one, usually in November. The nasty lawsuit was still going on strong at that time, and it was expected to continue for months; granted, it was settled mid-December, so there is some possibility that this IP may still happen, but until I see an announcement, I'm not convinced. Though I will be extremely, pleasantly surprised if The Conjuring comes to HHN 28 this year.

    Now I know that's a lot, So here's the Tl;Dr version.

What I think will be at HHN 28:

    1. Stranger Things (Strictly speculation TOTALLY UNSURE)
    2. AHS: Cult
    3. Halloween (If not, then Conjuring)
    4. A Nightmare on Elm Street (If not then either The Thing or Alien)
    5. Trick 'R Treat (If not then The Thing)
    6. IT (If not then Lost Boys)

Amazing! I hope half of this happens.

I'm guessing that these will be out:

from most likely to least likely out being out:

    1. The Thing

It's a Universal property that has been at the event many times.

    2. Lost Boys

Not very popular or relevant. (sorry 80s kids)

    3. Halloween

To avoid spoilers, it IS coming near the end of the event, Oct 19

I think IT could make it back in, could've been bs info that it was leaving.

They can do the thing and Lost Boys. Popularity doesn’t mean anything.

Halloween is 50/50, Jigsaw came out near the end of the event last year and it was featured at the event.

    @Legacy on IU:

"What's the popularly assumed list right now?

    Stranger Things (Confirmed)
    IT
    The Thing
    Trick R Treat
    Halloween
    The Lost Boys

Then Nightmare on Elm Street, Conjuring, and Alien keep flittering about the edges?

Of those nine, I was told four that aren't happening."

I mentioned that he left out AHS and he admitted he forgot it, but still four out of the ten are confirmed to not be coming, meaning AHS is not one of those four.

I hope all come in some shape or form

I'm a huge fan of most of the things rumored for this year and will likely enjoy whatever is thrown at us, but it isn't going to feel full-on 80's without some of the classic slasher monsters. My vote will always be for Jason Voorhees, but Freddy, Chucky, Leatherface and the gang are always welcome. If not a house, maybe they'll toss us weird 80's kids a bone with a fun scarezone or something.

Let Freddy, Jason, and leatherface get both coasts.

And have Chucky stay in Hollywood, I don’t want him in Orlando after the last movie.

  9. As a 10-11 year old kid, who liked horror movies. When Carnival Of Carnage came(which please bring that back again in some form, hopefully this year with this 80’s theme).  But I was like this is Really cool as hell!

I mean like I said it depends. Like if there are Indiana hhn fans on here. I was afraid a horror host named Sammy Terry till I was almost out of elementary school. So it just depends.

i mean adults/parents should know better. I’m not against parents taking their 10-12 year old kid to HHN. But don’t take young children to the event.

HHN is more marketed toward to the adult crowd. I mean I’m not expecting kid-friendly scare zones to happen anytime soon. Keep its boundaries.

Like keep the HHN tradition with attractive scantly clad women, people running around with chainsaws, and excellent haunted houses!  Don’t change it.
