  1. Just finished watching Child’s Play for the first time, and it far exceeded my expectations. I honestly had just expected it to be a goofy gore movie in the vein of the NoES sequels, but it actually had quite a bit of creepiness in both the cinematography and the fantastic design and effects of the Chucky doll and its voice. It was quite goofy in a few places, but not too much. Honestly a new favorite 80s flick, with a ton of fun scenes.

Doesn’t change my excitement for this zone too much, but I suppose this makes me happier that he’s the most prominent figure on the zone shirt.

I'll almost certainly be getting the 'Trick 'r Treat' shirt, but instead of Sam's real face in the background, I'd have preferred if it were just the full moon.

Yeah, the overuse of his true face in advertising ruins the reveal, same with the tagline for The Strangers.

    A legit 10-house lineup for HHN29:

    IT (Soundstage 21)

    Stranger Things (Soundstage 22)

A Nightmare On Elm Street (Soundstage 24B)

Nightingales: Our for Blood (Soundstage 24A)

The Horrors of Blumhouse (Tent 3)

    Mutants (Sprung Tent 2)

    Vamp '95 (Sprung Tent 1)

Survive or Die: No Mercy (New Parade Building)

H.R. Bloodengutz Presents Holidays of Horror: Episode 2 (Parade Building)

Killer Klownz from Outer Space 3D (Shrek 4D Theater 2)

Haha I was joking. We're probably not getting IT, Conjuring, NoES, or any other IP WB has for quite a while. The Thing was a bit of a joke as to how heavily it was speculated to be here this year, and AHS was poking fun at the Disney Fox aquisition.

I said earlier in the thread that I like my houses to have a linear story and Chris called me out by saying I probably didn’t like Silver Screams and All Nite Die-In because they weren’t linear either. But I actually liked those houses, I’m a hypocrite. And I’m ok with that.

So...you're okay with no linear story then?

I'm well aware that the 25 house had to be "thrown together".  However, it doesn't change the actual fact that Purge was a house before.  To say otherwise is simply false.  It also doesn't change the fact that we've had variations of the Purge for way too many years now.  That is my point.  Too much of the same thing over and over completely devalues the content, and it sure as hell sucks away any chance of a good scare.

I've said this already, but I'll say it again - the presence of this house doesn't change my excitement or my anticipation for this year's event.  I'll just skip this one.  If you all enjoy it, more power to ya

I completely agree that I would have rathered literally any other property than The Purge, but that wasn’t my point. My point was that this is gonna be the first house that has always intended to feature the IP

    -No Entrance by Despicable Me

I’m a huge fan of this change, the entrance to Both AHS houses have felt cluttered and awkward due to the close proximity to the entrance zone.

killer klowns - map projection will be used in the zone for shadow puppets , ice cream truck with jumbo on top will be there,on the walls will be the ship and throughout the night the tent will lift up [projection they said], klowns will be huge, popcorn creatures will be there.

(What does “on the walls will be the ship” mean?)

Blumhouse definitely WAS the WORST last year.

Uh...I'm a huge Evil Dead fan but...AvED was bad. Maybe not terrible, but IMO it was quite a bit worse than HoB.

And usually - crappy movie, by definition, translates to crappy house.  If I don't give a single shit about the property, why would I about the house?   Purge is done.. overdone... stick a fork in it.

I mean - I had never seen a Saw film when I went through the house last year but I adored that house. It was #3 on my list. I agree that Purge is overdone, but this is literally the first time the Purge has had a house at the event that was specifically designed for the IP. Not sure about you, but that's at least a little exciting to me. From what I've seen, TFP's costumes are pretty sick looking.

It's in that elevated propped up, crappy tent next to Fear Factor. It doesn't stand a chance.

I mean, HoB wasn't the worst last year imo.

Side note: Did I miss something or is "more houses than ever" the "theme" of this event?

"...wrapping up our killer lineup of haunted houses at this year’s event – more houses than ever!"

I thought it was "The Past Will Haunt You."

I think next year HHN should just be an all Michael Myers/Halloween spectacular! More mazes than ever all based on each Halloween movie through Blumhouse Halloween! As much Michael as you can handle! LOL

Imperius on IU would lose his fucking mind.

Well, no one's ever heard of "The Thing From Another World." They only know about the remake.

    This deserves all the likes

Wasn't very excited for ST before, but the announced stories they'll be tackling (Three Little Pigs, Humpty Dumpty) bumps this one up a few spots on my hype list. Very excited to see how they pull those off with either animatronics, costumes, or static models.

Easy... you have the angry ghost of Laura physically manifested inside the maze for the scares. Similar to how "Truth or Dare" will actually feature the demon "Calux". Also, I wouldn't be surprised if they used computer screens as well in some way.

That would be disappointing. For such an oddball IP, that would be so boring and un-creative. A&D (or Hollywood's equivalent) could get so trippy with distractions and booholes.

Last years Blumhouse House left a bad taste in my mouth so this one unfortunately is at the bottom of my list.

That's a bit silly. You can't judge a house on previous entries in the series, especially if its a dang mash-up series!

Well I definitely prefer our movie selection for our Blumhouse house over the ones Hollywood is getting.

    I agree but only barely.

Honest to god, I wouldn't care if we got HDD or Unfriended, they're equal in terms of design potential IMO. One has fun ideas with repeated rooms, and the other can get very abstract and trippy.

I only prefer Purge over Truth or Dare due to costume design, as the possibilities and designs with TFP are vastly more interesting than ToD's.

Its just that Im not a kid. Im 41 years old professional (using that term loosely). My days of walking around with killer clowns and blood splatter on my shirt are kinda over. Ever though I have a ton of horror movie shirts I like the more subtle, clean designs in my old age LOL

I prefer the more reserved designs as well, but I don’t want to feel like I’m rubbing my annual pass in my friends’ faces.
