I'm guessing that it might have a mini-show similar to the Voodoo one from HHN24.

pictures today make it look like its just a prop.

I mean, I knew Stranger Things was going to be a big thing this year.  But, damn it looks like they focused the entire event and almost all the merch around it.  Ugh.   Remaining hopeful.

  2. I would not worry too much about a Newark to MCO flight.  And I wouldnt be too worried about a massive domino effect as Charlotte is really the only major airport in the path of this storm that should be affected.  The key to watch out for is if the Atlanta airport is affected.  As THE busiest airport in the world, that one WILL cause issues if it is affected.

Your flight time might increase a bit to accommodate a bit of a bend around the storm.  Imagine instead of the typical straight line you might end up over Knoxville and down the pathway through Georgia instead of over SC and into FL by that path.  I doubt you'll have too much of an issue unless the storm suddenly turns left, like today, and heads directly west, which would be extremely odd behavior.  This storm is going to make landfall near Outer Banks around the SC/NC border.  It is a massive storm and will cover most all of SC and it is expected to sit there and meander like Harvey did in Houston which could be devastating.  But, it shouldn't affect Orlando or much travel.  But, it is going to cause me to close the pool 2 weeks early.  Jerk.

The house has been show ready for a few weeks. It was one of the first ones complete.

Netflix did its walkthrough in June/July.

I don't think a lot of people realize how far in advance the HHN team is working.   Like, if you wanted to "attempt" to influence the HHN team for HHN29, you should have started in January of 2018.

Also, patiently awaiting today's 11am announcement on twitter!

    Any level.

In years past, I have seen the AP pin for sale in the HHN Store.  Personally, I think that is a disservice to AP holders, since I didn't have to show proof of AP.

This is the first time I can recall them making an AP shirt.

I feel the same way about the AP lanyards...

Honestly can't wait. Can't come soon enough. Went for the first time in 2016 and was instantly hooked. Best time of the year!!

We agree!  I saw my friend post at 25 and went to 26 and we were hooked

oh yeah. My wife and I have been going for a long time. Its literally our favorite thing to do together.... 5 days is going to be awesome!

After going for 2 days and staying off site in 14, we stayed 5 nights at RPR in June of 15, then went to HHN 26 and stayed 8 nights at Portofino, then HHN 27 for a 8 night stay at HRH, then this year we are 9 nights at Portofino.  Ive already booked 8 nights at RPR for 2019 and another weekend at Aventura and RPR for taking kis in 2019.   I think I may have a problem.

Since they added the Wednesday before this year's Microsoft event, maybe Microsoft can take the damn Wednesday next year instead, and give those of us who travel for the long weekend a shot at a Thurs - Sat uninterrupted run.

Unfortunately, Microsoft will always end up taking that Thursday night unless they change the dates of their Ignite conference.  It is an annual conference and has been in Orlando in recent years unlike other shows that bounce between Orlando and Vegas.  They buy the park on the last night of their event to close out the show.

Yeah, I have heard the tales of the line nazis and that is why I was asking. I don't want to get in trouble, but dammit I want what I am paying for too :)

  8. Rewatched Poltergeist yesterday.  Yeah, I can see some cool stuff happening.  The clown, the monster that Coach pulls out of the closet, the monster that comes back for Carrie Ann, slimey rope and tennis ball etc.

What I had really forgotten about was mom and dad sitting in their bedroom smoking pot and their kid comes in and mom takes a last quick hit.   Hilarious.

I think this will be a lot like the Shining or Krampus house.  Good quality and a couple of decent scares.

  9. I, for one, am really excited for Slaughter Sinema.  I grew up watching UHF TV (Showing my age here.  UHF/VHF were dials on your TV back before cable TV.   One dial was like channels 1-12 and the other was like 15-69 or something.  Network TV and PBS was on VHF while the B team channels were on UHF - and seriously, if you haven't seen the movie, go get UHF by weird Al and discover Spatula City!)  Saturdays on UHF channels was always Planet of the Apes or some cheap-o movie.  "It's the 2 o'clock movie!"   They were always a movie the likes of which would be something MST3K would watch to make fun of.   I remember one of my favs was about a guy who had been driving along with his window down and his arm resting out the window when another car came by and....ooops, cut his left hand right off.  Of course, he had to go back and find it because it had his wedding ring on it and probably also because it was his hand.  So, he takes it home and puts it in the freezer, you know, like any reasonable person would do.  So, of course, said hand becomes evil, escapes the freezer and goes on a murderous rampage.  It was great.   I loved anytime it was raining or cold and we could have an excuse to be inside to watch those.  (Yes, in the late 70s and through most of the 80s most kids I knew were tossed right out of the house on Saturdays.  My mom would go as far as locking us outside at times)

Then in the 80s VCRs opened our world to the Pam Grier early 70s "women in prison" type movies.  The ones where the girls get 2 showers a month and you see both of them.   Great times.

So, yeah, I hope Slaughter Sinema lives up to the hype!

I use one lanyard, and keep the HHN pass sanwiched during the daytime then sandwich the daytime express at night (or just throw away or pocket the daytime Express).

We go to USF for 9 nights this year and we have 5 HHN nights.  Sooooo much easier to have a daytime lanyard with my ticket facing one way and EP facing the other and a separate HHN lanyard.

Question: To stay in the park after it closes and get early entry-does your day ticket have to be for universal Studios or can it be for Islands of Adventure. I went about 7 years ago and we did the Stay and Scream ticket and did IOA during the day and then they sent us on a walkway to Studios. However, any info I see for more current years seems to insinuate you’d have to have the Park Hopper pass?

To stay and scream you have to be inside USO.    The only path to USO from IOA is either to walk out the front gate and enter the other front gate or to take the Hogwarts Express, so, yes park to park would be required or a USO ticket for that day.
