  1. Someone posted a picture (edit, on reddit) of a UK person who had purchased a HHN30 Frequent Fear pass. And it had the typical everyday (first and last Saturday included, but none of the others). So, I am still hoping for the same to be released in the USA. And from what I have heard, they are insuring onsite hotel guests access to the parks, right now, so hoping that continues through HHN. I really do not want to have to do stay and scream each night.
  2. I am thinking around the expiration of the BOGO on July 22nd we will get full ticket options and just before that a complete release of the event to churn excitement.
  3. Interesting, to say the least. I think that Universal and Disney have unique issues somewhat apart from issues that say Six Flags or Cedar Point have in that they are truly international destinations. I think you're going to see a lot of the USA start reopening businesses in a few weeks, if not sooner, with a lot of basic guidance. The numbers are looking to show this as a serious threat for the immunocompromised and those over the age of 60. Not to downplay the numbers below 60 as anything less than serious, the numbers do show those under 30 to be much lower and they start skewing upwards as the age group does. I really hope we get a handle on this and USF opens sooner than later. Aside from that, have any of you watched Daniel Isn't Real? That was as good of a horror movie as I have watched in a while. Fun and trippy all the way through.
  4. If they bring Stranger Things back this year, I am sure we will go through the house once to check the box, but at this point they do not have any more content and it would seriously be a wasted soundstage. I loved the rumor to bring BeetleJuice to the FFL stage, but even having a house would be pretty cool. There are some excellent horror themes and facades they can make use of, including the SNAKE!
  5. Knowing that the HHN Creative team already has HHN30 mapped out (generally speaking) I am pretty sure we are going to get a house from J Peele (Candyman). This has been my thought since the announcement between Peele and Universal was made and Peele is producing Candyman (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt9347730/?ref_=nm_flmg_prd_3) AHS 1984 seems perfect for the event and has a history. A Mashup house for Freddy/Jason/M.Meyers could be on the table for an anniversary party along with an Icon mashup or straight Icon house. Really hope they have an Icon for this coming year!
  6. HHN 30 event dates announced! https://orlando.halloweenhorrornights.com/site/?__source=A000201055.000003169&IndivKey=261295340 September 10 to October 31! Wild Ass Guess speculation! September 10, 11, 12, 13 17, 18, 19, 20 23, 24, 25, 26, 27 30, October 1, 2, 3, 4 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 14 (possible corporate buyout date?) 15, 16, 17, 18 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 28, 29, 30, 31 36 nights of XXX Horror!
  7. Based on your comment I went to youtube and looked for another video. And, you are right. There were a lot more effects than in the first video I saw. I guess maybe the effects were not on during that first show. Still, it looks to be as expected.
  8. I just spent 10 minutes of my Saturday morning watching the YouTube video of the Lagoon Marathon of Mayhem. I have really made a massive mistake here. I've watched this without my wife and I am going to have to sit through this again. When I speculated, back in August, that this would be a 100% dud, a commercial for the houses, and it would not provide any additional content.....I was only slightly wrong. It is not a commercial for the houses, per say. There is a scene of some classic monsters, but the rest is what looks like old VCR info projected onto the facade of buildings and music, lights, and water jetting into the sky. Truly it is horrifying that I may have to watch this again.
  9. Your post is really good. What a few of us want the event to be vs what works for the masses is not always the same thing. I do hope the highlighted statement is not influencing creative at HHN. We go to USF for HHN to escape the news and the influence of (politics, media, whatever you want to call it) and enjoy focus on the two of us and I want at least a couple of the houses to keep the extreme levels of gruesomeness.
  10. I feel the fandom is still there. But, many are aging out of the days of being able to post and search and do the 'back in the day' things you mentioned. I am a late bloomer to this party and got hooked so fast it wasn't funny. But, I have even noticed a turn in the direction of the event. I recently watched Theme Park Review's History of HHN on YouTube and found it to be pretty good. They were able to highlight some of the missteps that the HHN team have made over the years and how HHN has pretty much propped up the parks until a certain wizard came along. I see what you mean about the earlier years of HHN and I see where they are headed now. Fear is not as fun or as important as profit. The online backstories are declining year over year and with so many IP houses, which don't require any back story, I feel that portion of Creative is also declining. Look at this year's merch. Its almost all ST and GB as the main focus. Not only is the event turning soft, they are not creating anything, they are just riding the IPs. Which all leads to less and less to talk about. The other thing, as mentioned, Vlogs. I know that Saturday the 7th, my wife will have the video up and we will see the inside of each house. Gone are the days of videos stopping at the entrance and picking up at the exit of the house. Now, as credentialed media, certain vloggers push the entire event out the 2nd day. All of us who wait until later in the year don't have anything to really talk about or even banter about with those who have gone. Stranger Things was soooooo successful GhostBusters!? Wow! I'm so stoked for a comedy house! How the hell do they bring back an icon (any of them) if the event is going to continue to run towards the tween demographic? "We are NOT becoming family friendly" Brings back ST, GB, Killer Klownz....
  11. Not in it's current format. It just uses the water spray to create a movie screen. And if you watch the video you'll see that the show is just basically commercials for the rides with parts of the rides in the show. It's really nothing more than the marketing channel you see in your on site hotel room. Here's to hoping HHN is better. Edit: From the Universal site: It may well run continuously and recycle hourly or it will be a 20 minute show 3 times a night? A new lagoon show is debuting at Universal Studios Florida during Halloween Horror Nights on select nights Sept. 6 – Nov. 2. Watch as the lagoon transforms with a spectacle of neon and synth, featuring iconic scenes from top horror films, cult classics and TV shows in “Halloween Marathon of Mayhem”. Grab a bucket of popcorn and get ready as the lagoon lights up with iconic scenes from Netflix’s Stranger Things, Ghostbusters, Universal Monsters and Killer Klowns from Outer Space. This new show features a blend of fountain-based media, state-of-the-art technologies and special effects in a new way. This is one 80’s nightmare you won’t want to miss. Show times each event night are 10PM, 11PM and 12AM. Download the Official Universal Orlando Resort Mobile App for updates and more info.
  12. The screams featured at this year’s Halloween Horror Nights will come to life in a whole new way with the debut of the nighttime lagoon show, “Halloween Marathon of Mayhem.” Guests will watch as terrifying moments inspired by some of the Halloween classics taking over the event come to life right before their eyes in the Universal Studios Florida lagoon. Giant water screens highlighting iconic horror scenes, accented with more than 100 fountains, awesome special effects, pounding electro music, lasers and more will bring this all-new experience to life – creating a larger-than-life mix tape that guests won’t want to miss. Guests will witness a twisted new take on Netflix’s Stranger Things, Sony Pictures’ Ghostbusters, Universal Monsters and Metro Goldwyn Mayer’s Killer Klowns from Outer Space as they invade the Universal Studios lagoon for “Halloween Marathon of Mayhem,” running on event nights at the world’s premier Halloween event.
  13. No, they have a fountain style show a la The Bellagio where they project onto the water spray. We watched it during our trip in June 2019. One and done. It has absolutely nothing outside of commercials for the rides.
  14. Found on twitter that there well may be a second show in Orlando, this year: Haunt Scene Twitter
  15. Any leaks or ideas on what scarezones Orlando is getting? 1. Selfie Zone Thats an easy one. But after that, what's the deal? Music of Rob Zombie....what scare actors would be in this zone?
  16. I wish they would bring back projections like they had at 26 where the building was falling and such. It really would be super cool to see that type of projection on the front entrance.
  17. Thank you and I love what you guys have been doing to update the site!
  18. Does it lend some help to the idea that Ghostbusters will be involved if you knew that they are using Stay Puft as a giveaway for games in the parks along side Frankenstein and, I think, the Wolfman? Source: Tim Tracker video
  19. Definitely scary! Then I can use my dad voice and tell them to stop running with scissors!
  20. There is absolutely nothing HHN about Get Out. I dont know what haunt would consider something that polarizing for a scare. 8 people sitting around a table eating dinner with brain scrambled servants standing nearby is not my definition of scary.
  21. I made a decision that I needed a bit of me time. But, as a mid 40s married man with 2 kids, yeah, its not easy. But I want to play Batman Arkham City dammit and I wish I could get into Red Dead 2, that looks fun.
  22. You are very correct. ST shifted the demographic age down. Adding anything HP would definitely drive it down further. Then comes the parental units of those HP kids screaming about the rest of the event being too scary and that's how we get UNSSHPH. That being said, it makes the argument for HHN becoming two tiered and in two parks. Scary to the left, not so scary to the right. But, I am sure there is not a return to be had in that method.
