I'm not 100% on the connection with "seaside town", but it was confirmed on Twitter that the hints were linked by the year 1984... which was when the first A Nightmare on Elm Street came out.
But maybe I'm just vainly hoping for ANOES to come back, haha.

duuuuude idk why people saying IT's not gonna be here next year, the movie has so many varied scares and a iconic monster so it's great for a house, theres a damn haunted house in the movie, also it kinda made 671.7 million at the box office and is hyped to shit so Universal better suck the shit out of this movies dick it will make them SOOOO much money
I'm just skeptical because of how difficult it is to get properties from King into haunted attractions. Although, there was a small interactive experience held earlier when the movie was first released so it's possible. I'm just trying not to get my hopes up, haha.
But you're right. There are some GORGEOUS monster designs and sets in the movie. I think it would be a great house.

Despite my debilitating clown fatigue, I'd like to see an IT house (especially a haunt interpretation of the painting woman), but I highly doubt it's going to happen in 28. Purge is probably coming back. Don't want it, don't need it, but we're probably going to get it.
HHN best be giving my girl Cindy her year in the limelight, though. I miss having icons.

It's fine. The Ifrit stated that this house will "be more steamy than baroque and dreamy" so maybe a steampunk Angels vs Demons? Idk, this house and the vampire one are the only things that we know little to nothing about
Gods, I hope not. In my opinion, none of the steampunk-centric scarezones or houses have been scary, and making it into another X vs. Y house makes it even less interesting to me. The whole thing just feels lame and uninteresting. :/
If they do make an angels vs. demons house, it needs to have some nuance to it. There's nothing scary about red devils or white-robed angels. Admittedly, it has some potential for some really interesting creature interpretations, but I won't hold my breath. I think I just have an irrational hatred for this maze as a concept, haha.

For me a few minutes ago it was at 47, the counter must be on the fritz
Mine was at 468. Weird. Probably a little bug they haven't worked out yet.
I'd suggest that it was intentional, but I can't see what they would possibly be doing with that... and also, that would be silly.

Okay, I really dig the idea of crossing Nightingales and Catacombs during the plague. That has great potential for elaborate set design and body horror related scares (boils and archaic medical devices, hello?) and I like the cross-over of The In-Between and Asylum in Wonderland. That has a lot of creative potential, as well. And while I think the "dark Alice in Wonderland" theme has been done half to death, it would be cool to see what they could do with two concepts that involve really trippy, mind bending imagery; especially so if the maze is executed with surreal horror in mind.
I genuinely don't think that the Scary Movie franchise would translate into a maze very well, though. That might just be because I absolutely despised the movies and don't particularly like comedy-centered houses, so please take this with a grain of salt. But I just don't think there's anything really stand-out about that franchise that doesn't borrow heavily from other horror properties and that makes it difficult to work with, scare-wise. I just don't see the appeal.
I'm iffy about the 7 maze because a.) I didn't think the scarezone was that scary to begin with and b.) it only really worked because the Sins served as a suitable distraction for their minions, who executed the majority of the scares. I'm not sure how that would translate into a maze without the distraction scare being very obvious and becoming tiresome. Conceptually, very cool idea though, and I'd like to see those ladies make a comeback (especially Sloth and Wrath) because their "monstrous" forms were really neat. I could see it potentially working out, but I'd be skeptical of the execution.
Alien vs. The Thing seems like a very silly idea. It could be a fun maze, but they're very different franchises tonally, in my opinion, and the idea of them facing off seems awkward and forced.

Wait- wasn't it The Director who said that art requires sacrifice?

I'm not getting the Dia de los Muertos thing at all. This screams Victorian aesthetics a la Caretaker.
I agree completely. It all feels very classically gothic - right down to the skull insignia - and definitely brings to mind the Catacombs. The roses give me a funeral parlor feel, also.

What we're all missing with the Dark Fortunes hint is the long-awaited return of Lady Luck, unanimously the best icon. Obviously.

Cleopatra was killed by an asp, which is a deadly (venomous) snake. If the one tweet implies a 3-in-one original house, we could see a ship from Forsaken transporting Egyption artifacts! And then add one more twist?
I want to believe that these clues are pointing toward a bayou theme (what with the Serpent and the Rainbow, "wettest hell", Voodoo Queen connections and all), but it might very well be a Mummy-related hint, given the connections to Cleopatra. Especially so because the new Mummy movie includes a female mummy.
Also, howdy! I'm new here, sorry. Haha.

Can't be mad about that. The Thing is a solid property with a lot of great potential for scares.
