  1. I jokingly said Bait. It’s an Australian b-movie where a tsunami hits trapping people in a supermarket, along with a giant man eating shark. Good excuse to bring back Bruce! Murdy is also currently playing a game on Twitter (yep I’m pretty bored tonight). His clues seem to point to the year 1984, and doing a quick search the stand out horror films from that year include NoES, Gremlins, Friday the 13th: the final chapter, and a film called C.H.U.D. Might be something. Might be nothing. Might be Hollywood exclusive also. But could the IP loss people are referring to be related to the conjuring, and it’s being confused with IT?
  2. The Ifrit is back with something that seems out of left field. A seaside town Amidst a flood Of people found Awashed in blood
  3. I think potentially it could. Some of the scenes could be huge and spacious to help tell the story (such as the lab, the bits in the upside down, forests, etc). So not mega house as in length, but in how they use the space effectively. Kinda how people were hoping the shining would have been done
  4. Just re-reading the announcement and I noticed there wasn’t confirmation of whether this will be their mega house this year (assuming we get one). Could that mean the mega house is still to be announced? I’d be surprised if this doesn’t end up in the same soundstage as AHS last year, but seemed weird they wouldn’t call attention to that.
  5. https://orlando.halloweenhorrornights.com/hhn-news.php Stranger things season 1
  6. I've said it before, and I’ll say it again. My money is on Stranger Things. Hope I’m not shown up by Universal announcing something different in the next hour!
  7. It is, but terrifying TV? Bit of a stretch there. It has its moments but it’s more sci fi than horror I’d say. If it’s the same as last year blame Microsoft. They have their annual Ignite conference at the Orlando convention centre. They robbed me of a night last year as well by hiring out the whole park for a night as part of the conference.
  8. The leaked list has a bit of an 80’s vibe to it (Stranger Things, IT, NoES, The Thing), and the releases today refer to “the past will haunt you”. There’s been no official mention of the 80’s but it’s fun to speculate.
  9. Blog confirms 9 houses https://blog.universalorlando.com/visiting-us/dates-and-ticket-offer-hhn2018/
  10. Well if it is an 80’s theme then maybe have a Vamp ‘87 scarezone with neon lights, glow sticks, classic 80’s soundtrack etc with the lost boys vibe? That would be so much fun!
  11. Would Stranger Things qualify as a terrifying TV show? I’m not so sure. Also, would you say that IT has reached iconic status yet given it was only released last year? Splitting hairs for sure, but marketing don’t really care about trivial details like that. Also, the fact it refers to “the past will haunt you” suggests we won’t get any promos in mazes of upcoming films like insidious 4 in 27. Unless Halloween does come back based on the new film as in Michael Myers is coming back to haunt you?
  12. Dates officially released on HHN website “This year, the past will haunt you with brand-new mazes based on iconic horror films, terrifying hit TV-shows and haunting original stories. You’ll also encounter nightmarish creatures as you walk through five sinister scare zones.” sounds like we could have an 80’s themed event after all
  13. I just put it on for background while I make dinner after long day at work. Monday’s are hard. But I did love Glenn’s death for all the wrong reasons. Was supposed to be emotional and shocking, but I just laughed over how they turned him into Quasimodo (without the hunchback) before he died. It was ridiculous
  14. Yeah! And while they’re at it, let’s show people covered in zombie guts escaping zombie hoards unscathed at the beginning of the maze, then people being turned into zombies by being touched by weapons coated in zombie guts at the end of the maze. Classic walking dead logic. I literally only watch this show to see just how bad it can get. Every time I think it hits rock bottom it proves me wrong. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a tv show where I think all the characters are awful people and deserve to die. The only character I like is Negan because he at least has fun being a horrible person. Having said that, an interactive walking dead maze in the style of laser quest/paintball would be pretty fun.
  15. First tickets on sale in UK https://www.orlandoattractiontickets.co.uk/Ticket/Halloween-Horror-Nights-Flex-Ticket It’s two nights for the price of one (excluding Saturdays), costing £59 (around $83).
  16. Maybe. But AHS cult may not have the same impact as the AHS megahouse did last year. Whilst I really enjoyed it (despite its faults) I don’t think it was that well received generally. I still think the first house announcement will be Uni’s way of making a big statement, putting a marker in the sand. This time of year is when most international visitors will be thinking about whether to go to make the trip to Orlando or not, so a big announcement may help sway their decision. For example I’ve already said I’m not going next year, but one or two huge IPs may make me rethink.
  17. I think that may be a mistake. Whilst I enjoyed the scare zone last year, it’s not a very widely known IP in the general public, and hardly likely to make shockwaves. I’d expect the first announcement to be one of the big IPs expected to be a big draw for the general public. Start the HHN buildup with a bang.
  18. Very true. But I have a feeling stranger things is coming to universal in some way shape or form, be it HHN like the rumours suggest, or maybe as something else. It’s been a fairly persistent rumour (like the shining was last year), plus there has been a lot of activity on Universal’s various twitter, Facebook, etc. accounts involving stranger things. Hope IT does come as well, but two very strong IPs in one year might be pushing things. Universal may prefer to do both in separate years to maximise marketing opportunities. They will both be huge crowd pleasers and definitely attract people to the event, so why put them in the same year? The rest of the list, apart from AHS of some description and trick r treat, seem less certain to me. I hope there’s a few aces up A&Ds sleeve for this year that haven’t been leaked and aren’t expected.
  19. I did hear on the rumour mill a large proportion of the budget may be going on one house. Which also helps to explain why the rumoured list has a few houses or props previously seen at HHN being used.
  20. Halloween isn’t that big a thing in the U.K. so it can be difficult to find haunts. The ones they have tend to be outdoors in the woods so very different to HHN. There is one in London (special events at the London Bridge experience) which looks to be an extreme haunt where the actors can touch you and do chase you in small groups. I did read a story about one section one year where an actor performs a “shotgun” wedding with a guest. Never been to it as it sounds a bit mental, and my friends aren’t that into this kind of thing. They also do scary Easter events apparently http://www.scaretouruk.com/review---leporiphobia-2016-at-london-bridge-experience.html
  21. Maybe. Or just marketing being generally shitty. Gotta love a massive countdown to a sweepstakes contest.....still not over that garbage
  22. Good point. I forget this living in the UK. I’m sure there’s a few more splatter moments in Cult. What about the guy in the cult that’s tied down and stabbed to death by all the female cult members? Splatter/splashback I guess? Maybe I need to rewatch the series...
  23. Thanks! Splatter could refer to a few gunshot deaths, the judgement house with the crazy pastor, or even microwaving the guinea pig haha.
  24. I’m going to say that poison refers to AHS Cult. Mainly because of those vans spraying “poison” throughout the season, drinking the kool-aid was derived from cults and covered in the season, and “scene 7” could be a subtle clue to the fact Cult is the 7th season of AHS.
