  1. I hope they reuse some of the scarezone props, etc. for the facade and queue into the maze. It’s a long way to the parade building
  2. Not following this lol. Am I missing something obvious? It’s been a long, long day
  3. Thursday I believe, if Hollywood fix their website after last weeks false start
  4. Still trying to track down the leaked list to confirm, but I don’t think Halloween was on it. From memory it was - IT - AHS Cult - TrT - Stranger Things - NoES - The Conjuring So I reckon TrT is the only unannounced IP in that list that will be at HHN28, alongside Stranger Things. Be interesting to see what other IPs are in the mix, and how many!
  5. Is it a shared property? If it’s a shared property then maybe the announcement has been pushed back. If Orlando exclusive then maybe we’ll still get it announced today.
  6. I’m working from home today (got a cold) so not so bad haha. I’m any case I’m pretty good at multitasking
  7. I think there will be, just in the next 30 mins or so (the same time as for dead exposure a few weeks ago). Otherwise that’s another afternoon wasted refreshing my phone browser haha
  8. “The original idea for the icon this year would have been ‘The Evil Queen’, the concept would have heavily geared the event towards mocking their mousy neighbour. There was even discussions of a house called ‘Unmagic Kingdoms’ where various familiar attractions had gone awry” and there you have it!
  9. The icon wasn’t Nathaniel Crowe, I’d have to look it up.
  10. I was re-reading the excellent HHN book by Chris Ripley last night to get a feel for the original dead exposure, where there was a note to say that in that year, one original concept didn’t get off the ground as they changed the icon. It was called “un-magic kingdom”, and would have essentially been a theme park gone wrong. This sounds like a great concept, and I could see it fitting quite nicely with the R&M clue set 3.
  11. So they really are keeping us on our toes this year, aren’t they?
  12. So what’s the consensus on whether there will be an announcement today? Yay or nay?
  13. It would be funny if the secret house was IT, with codename “dynamite”. As in, when it’s announced it will blow up the internet haha
  14. Now that I’m thinking a bit more clearly, the ifrit tweet about The Thing “growing and changing” is reminding me of something someone said a while ago (can’t remember who it was and can’t find the post sorry!). There was a comment along the lines of one of the originals could potentially be considered an IP. What if the growing and changing is linking into this, so we’d get an original take on The Thing? In my mind this could be really easy to make work. Simply take the basic premise of the films (alien parasite, no idea who is infected, lots of monsters etc.), but place it in a different setting. Most people would know the film, but doing this would make the scares much less expected and predictable.
  15. Thanks all. Was on my lunch break and it’s been one of those days. Roll on Friday!
  16. Yeah, in summary (please correct me if wrong): clue one - IT. Not happening clue two - Trick r Treat. Appears likely to be coming clue three - The Lost Boys. No comments/news either way clue four - The Thing. Not likely to be happening clue five - Dead Exposure. Happening, but evolving from the first dead exposure maze Gutted about IT, but one IP alone does not maketh HHN!
  17. To throw another guess out there, what about ”the truth tortoise” which leads to IT (as in the giant turtle from the book). More hopeful from me than likely to be right though...
  18. Welp that’s this years Scarecrow for me. Sounds terrifying. No safe place, no way to see the scares before they happen. Maybe I should charge people to do this with me as it’s bound to be entertaining (for them at least!)
  19. With an original seemingly being announced so early, what do people think this could mean for IPs? Is it that the IP lineup is considered “weak” after Stranger Things, and therefore reliance is being put on the strength of the originals to sell the event? Or the impact of the originals last year (which were brilliant) is giving them a better platform to be marketed as a key draw for the general public? Personally I think we’ve got to the tipping point with IPs. There isn’t that much out there worth doing that hasn’t been done before. And as someone who loved the originals last year this really excites me. As great as it is to experience IPs I feel like they can be limiting in how creatove the team can be. Whereas with originals the sky’s the limit. They can do what they want. Stranger Things aside, I’m more excited about what they will do with originals than what IPs they can get.
  20. Are we sure it’s for Zero? I’ve not seen anything other than there being a lot of speculation as to what Zero actually is.
