From what’s been said, we don’t have Hollywood’s two Blumhouse properties. Thank god.

Are you sure about that? Also isn’t the first purge supposed to be a Hollywood exclusive? I’m not complaining if purge is in as I’d much rather have that and HDD than the Hollywood Blumhouse properties

Realistically, now that Marketing shit the bed again.. think we'll get an announcement this week?  I mean, the poster with two of the unannounced houses are already out there.. so.. why wait?

Also, not to be nitpicky, but any spec on how they will print the HHN28 logo?  For example, the 25 had Jack's theater lights (like dressing room lights) in the 25.  For 26, the 26 had markings that looked like the makeup on Chance's eyes, etc..  Or will it just be a generic blood color 28?  I am always interested in this kind of minutiae.

We definitely need official announcements. I can only assume they are waiting for the signoff of announcement vids, or some other minor holdup which is delaying things.

Im guessing the logo will be fairly standard, but with the video blip running through the middle (same as on the website). It’s simple, but effective. However, will they use 28 or 2018?

I know not too many are excited for this one, but Im very biased, because it's on of my guilty pleasures every Halloween. I am very curious to see what they do with Halloween 4. I'm thinking maybe it'll start off in the Psyche Ward and have an upside down ambulance somewhere where Michael escapes? Also, I wonder how much Jaime and Rachel will be incorporated in the house since most of the movie revolves around them.... I'm expecting to see a lot of Sheriff Meekers' House as well, maybe the school (get a blonde Michael just for kicks?)... Very interested in seeing what they come up with.

Having rewatched the film a lot happens outside. The space being used for this house, however, will make it difficult to pull that off.

The other thing that struck me is the amount of guns used in this film, including friendly fire. I’d imagine they would try to steer away from the gun violence, and showcase everything else. This, coupled with house location makes it extremely limiting in my mind.

Having not experienced Halloween and Halloween 2 at HHN I’m looking forward to giving it a go, but not expecting to be blown away by it.

First off, I guess there isn't going to be an announcement today...

Second, if 80% of the map is correct, two houses of the 10 are incorrect. I'll assume Blumhouse and one of the originals aren't true.

Over 80% means more than 8/10 right. Or, more likely, some houses are partially right.

Based on this weeks discussions on here Oz is partially right. There’s more to it. Blumhouse is likely to contain HDD (yes, after weeks of denying it I finally believe). But there’s more properties in there waiting to be confirmed. Finally, SOX feels like we’re nearly there with it, just not quite. That’s what I think is missing to take us up to a 100% correct map. @Legacy feel free to fix this as you see fit, if you don’t mind giving too much away ;)

I wouldn't assume your own opinion on a house based on only the projected opinion of another's.

    Different strokes for different folks.

Couldn’t agree more. You need a mix of stuff to cater for everyone. Last year I really didn’t want or enjoy Saw, but it always had huge queues and was popular.

Also whilst a few people hated Ash vs Evil Dead I loved it. Best way to experience HHN is to go in with an open mind, and give things a go. You may be surprised.

Oh yeah...I could see that for the area around F&F but London waterfront and FFL aren't close enough to the lagoon show for that to be a problem.

London might be out for HHN similar to Seuss landing is/was. JK Rowling/WB May not like it.

And guessing FFL area isn’t used this year due to crowding issues with AoV.  But next year could be different as you say

Well this was unexpected... and it looks AWESOME (side note:  how do i just get the tweet to show up in my post instead of just the URL? Sorry.. not savvy with this kind of stuff)

Didn’t I tell you about this in London? It looks awesome.

Big question i have is. Does this tie into the Jack origin story? My guess is no, but it really should.

  8. They were ok with pics on my tour. Just certain bits you couldn’t take any, yet if you hung back to take pics there wasn’t any issues. All they can do is ask you to delete them if it’s really likely to cause issues for them.

That room in hive I get with no pics. It was quite a shocking scene and it did offend some people. The fallen we couldn’t take any of the entrance. Other than that fair game.

They were very strict with the shining, but guessing that was maybe to do with Stephen King.

Perhaps I’ll wait and see how the policy is enforced this year before booking. Also gives the exchange rate time to bounce back. Bloody Brexit grrr

  9. Ok how about this while we kill time to the next announcement. On my UTH tour last year, we were told that every year they try to bring an element or shared item into each house. For HHN27 this was some kind of water effect (such as elevator scene in the shining, beer keg spray in Ash vs Evil Dead, lighting in dead waters to simulate the swamp).

Assuming they do the same this year, what do you think the shared element will be?

I’m thinking pumpkins. We have pumpkin guts in slaughter sinema, trick r treat will be full of them, DE is set around Halloween time according to those postcards so could have pumpkins, etc.

Disney Quest. and i’ll get it on topic since it’s my fault.

Do you think either scarezone will use part of sting alley?

Disney Quest. Used to like that place but really poorly managed and never updated. Oh well.

Think Killer Clowns is down to use Sting Alley, at least per the last spec map that was floating around. But does leave the park very lopsided in terms of scarezones, as currently there’s nothing from San Fran all the way round to Central Park. Appreciate there’s issues with using London, etc. but does look very bare at the moment. Unless they have something else up their sleeves?

Ah, but if a gate is just a single entrance to an area that charges you to go in, does that not make every single club in city walk it’s own gate?

Gate usually refers to an area where you need to pay to get into. However, this doesn’t normally apply to a smaller area within a larger area. So citywalk is the area, which is free to get into. However the clubs which you pay a cover charge for are too small to be their own gate.

Think thats the logic behind it. Like I said, all semantics. Just because they say one thing doesn’t mean that’s the reality.

On that note I did see an ad for WDW recently where they said there’s six parks. It’s true, but only if you say the water parks are “parks” in their own right. I don’t, but like I said it’s all semantics.

  12. I think the recent spate of budget attractions is primarily due to wanting to keep cash to expand and build the new park.

For example, from what I understand the area for F&F is huge, yet mostly under-utilised. This suggests either poor planning, or the original idea which was green lit was scaled back so much that they had no option but to make the carbon copy of Hollywood’s version to meet the deadline.

Also it sounds more and more likely that nintendoland isnt coming to universal studios at all. It would, however, slot right in as a land in a new park.

The Mangement are therefore left in a dilemma. Either stop building new rides altogether, and be accused of having no ideas and becoming stale while the new park is being developed behind closed doors (and lose attendance). Or, build something each year to keep people talking about the parks and want to come back more often.

People forget that this is a business. It is there to make money. Why build a $1bn state of the art attraction which brings additional revenue of $100m per year, when you can build a $300m average attraction which brings $50m additional revenue per year? Yes it’s not the best for us as fans and the end consumer, but business wise it makes sense.

To Management money talks, and by spending less on new attractions now they can invest more heavily into the new park.

Not or saying I agree or disagree with the strategy, just that I understand the commercial rationale behind it.

Guessing the announcement schedule will be a lot like how last year's was from this point: late July (guessing Blumhouse 2), then mid-August (guessing Poltergeist), then last Tuesday of August (guessing H4), then last Thursday of August (last three originals).

Is it too much to hope for one a week? Not long to go now, and 6 houses still to be announced!
