I will say the website was very very slow 10 mins before the announcement was expected, so maybe it was technical issues? Think that’s happened before.

Well in my mind this points to 1 of 2 conclusions: 1. They’ve secured a property for HHN29, which will likely replace an original. Hard to get out of a signed contract to use an IP, and do they want to cause problems with IP owners for the future? If this is the case then could be a WB property given the Horror Made Here announcement for this year. Obvious guess would be IT, especially as I recall last year the maze pretty much being designed before WB pulled the plug. 2. They’ve secured a huge property for HHN30 (more likely in my mind). Unlikely to be WB property (but never say never), so would be interesting to think what it could be. It must be a big deal for both Mike and Murdy to comment about it, so excited to see what come of it

Yes, I think they mean 10 houses, not 11. I also think they are highlighting the live entertainment as being the new thing, being they’ve not really said much about that so far. Marketing eh? Waste of space

Can be a lot of things. IP holder not formally signing off the announcement is a usual reason, not because they disagree or have an issue with it but usually because they haven’t got round to signing the paperwork. Other reasons could be external factors such as news items from competitors (guessing Star Wars Galaxys Edge May have delayed the HHN29 announcement), or competing announcements by Universal themselves (hello Hagrid).

On an Us house why can’t it be “inspired” by the movie? Can do a mix of recreation of iconic scenes and mix of original scenes, just like Poltergeist last year. Honestly, you only need 2 sets of twins in the house (so 4 in total for A and B casts) to explain the concept. The rest can be mixed pairs of people, as the film suggests. The whole premise of the house could be that you’re trying to get out of the town the night the tethered attack. You don’t need to see every part of the film replicated in the house. I’m fact, that would give A&D much more freedom to explore the concept and bring something great to the event. And if Jordan Peele is free to get involved (I know he’s an incredibly busy guy) I feel it would be something pretty special to experience.

I would say I had some great interactions with the swamp yeti’s last year. But not sold on a whole maze based on that concept. Hoping I’m proved wrong though!

All I say is if there’s enough desire and pressure to make it happen, and the price is met, then it will happen. Never say never, but it is unlikely. Just bugs me when people say “oh Disney own it so will never happen”. Everyone has their price. You also need to remember Comcast have a pretty juicy carrot to dangle too. Such a shame most Marvel characters and stories can’t currently be represented in Walt Disney World....

So apparently Bob Iger and Brian Roberts were roommates at college (or so the story goes), and have had an unhealthy competition between themselves since then. Comcast at one point did try to buy Disney and failed. Ever since then, Comcast have had a petty feud with Disney. But even with that, I still say if there’s a deal to be had then it all depends on whether Universal (via Comcast) will agree to Disney’s terms. So never say never, but file this under “unlikely” for now. As as far as I remember, Disney acquired the theme park rights to Alien years ago when building the Alien Encounter attraction (still my fave Disney attraction ever). They switched any references to Alien our pretty early, but not sure if they still retain them regardless of Fox. In any case, the facts remain the same. Disney and Comcast are businesses. They want to make money. If Disney are not taking the Alien IP forward then they will license it out. All depends on whether Comcast will sanction that deal.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. If Disney have no plans for it, and Universal are willing to meet the price set by Disney, then why wouldn’t Alien be back at HHN? This is business. There’s always a deal to be had, but depends whether both parties would agree on the terms of that deal.

Haha I wondered how long it would take you to pick up my comments! You know how much I really hate that bloody theme song. Each to their own. I do like Chucky, though wasn’t a fan of the last film and not looking forward to the reboot this summer. I grew up with those films so they’ll always be on my fave lists. As for announcements this this week is unlikely. Disney and Fox deal went through today, Stranger Things 3 trailer dropped today. It feels the announcement would get lost. I’d imagine it’ll be delayed to next week at least. Still plenty of time anyway so what’s the rush?

I get it is supposed to be intentionally bad, but KKFOS is not so bad it’s good. It misses that completely and loops right back to just being bad again. Just my opinion. I know people love it, and I’m glad it got represented last year for the fans. I just hope they leave it as that, and don’t milk it too much. Aside from that I do generally like b movies. Love the Leprechaun films, but again it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. As fun as it would be to see Leprechaun represented, I don’t think I want it for HHN.

I’m with you on killer Klowns. Don’t understand why people like it so much. It’s an awful film, terrible “acting”, and that theme tune is enough to drive me insane!

Kinda hope it does. Distracts the GP and gets them to queue up for a property we don’t care about anymore. Shorter lines for stuff we do care about!

Unless they work together on the promotional material? Could announce both the series launch date and house at the same time. Will likely be filmed this year, as post production work will take some time. The team do see scripts, etc as part of designing the house so could work in tandem. Not or saying they will, just saying they could if they wanted. It’s a win win for both parties.

Just watched the video of this. Wow. This would have freaked me out for sure. Doubt there’s enough there to warrant a sequel though which is a shame, as I would have loved to experience it!

I think I’ll never get over the fact Earthquake was demolished for that pile of garbage. Still angry about it!

I quite enjoyed AoV. I’m not really into dance shows but it was entertaining and fun. Plus was a nice break from the horrah. Too much of the same thing lessens the impact, so it’s good to have a breather. Having said that, did it work as well in the theatre? Nowhere near. The good thing about AoV on the streets was you could dip in and out of the show, dance along and really get involved with the show. Personally id like to see another kind of show this year, with AoV on the streets again. It’s important to offer alternatives to the houses. Not all people like the houses and went because of the atmosphere and the shows. I think we often forget on here that we are a small population of the total that went to HHN and you need to cater for everyone, not just us.

These will be the same people that tell their kids to look out for Mickey Mouse at universal studios....

Completely agree, but they need them likes and followers to validate their existence on earth
