The Horrors of Blumhouse. Insidious: Beyond the Further.

In response to your USH forum post, I wouldn't dare leak the ending of AHS. All I will say is this: It is bitchin' and mad unexpected. I doubt anyone would have ever guessed what it is.

Any specifics on Roanoke besides the ending?

How sure of we of the house content in "The Fallen?"

Very sure. Based on images released by Universal there is definitely a house that:

    (1) Has a portion set in a Cathedral

    (2) Features an underworld with Satanic imagery

    (3) In the underworld that looks similar to Catacombs

    (4) Dead angels

Based off of the leaked house concept Angels vs Demons this is a definite match. It's also understandable looking at the concept art how this maze could be interpreted as a "Gothic meets Catacombs" maze; which imo would've been really good too.

Will anyone in the know be able to tell us what happened behind closed doors with the "Soul Collectors?"

And will the drama have an effect on the actual event quality? Everything I've heard about the houses themselves sounds great.

From what I've heard all the houses are top notch quality and could win HoTY, it sounds like there's no duds. The only awkward thing you may notice is that the house codenamed Hive is gonna look a lot like the Conjuring.

  4. Another incident from this year I wanted to point out was that Insidious was originally a house in the MIB tent but was scrapped in favor for the Blumhouse Mashup(at least this is what I've heard). Additionally(according to rumors), half of the Blumhouse maze is Insidious with the other half being half Sinister and half Purge. If the Insidious rumor is true then that means the initial lineup planned was:

    AHS: Asylum, Coven, Roanoke; SS??

    The Shining; SS22

Ash vs Evil Dead*; Parade Building

    Saw; Shrek Queue

    The Conjuring; Sprung 2

    Insidious: MIB Tent

    Bayou of Blood/Dead Waters: SS24

    Angels vs Demons: SS24

    Scarecrows: Sprung 1

    * = AvED was initially rumored to be based on Evil Dead 1 & 2 and use the name for promotion, which has yet to be proven(in terms of if it initially was an Evil Dead house) aside from  early leaks

I'm pretty sure they planned on doing something more with the Soul Collector idea and it fell through. I also think that countdown was originally for something much better than a damn wallpaper. I swear, I want a tell-all book from the Universal staff about this year's horror nights. There's no way all of this was just out of pure laziness. Some kind of shit had to have gone down.

Yeah; this years been very chaotic behind the scenes and some incidents have been obvious(Conjuring turned into Hive) while some are still highly unknown(Collectors)

    Awwww darn, ok thanks!

It seems odd to me as I thought both Jack and Chance were successful the past two years, even if Chance's house and scarezone wasn't as well received.

Agreed; they had a really good concept with the Soul Collectors too and could've used that to their advantage

So yes the marketing & announcements have sucked tremendously on both coasts this year.... BUT I noticed something odd about this year as well. The HHN facebook page hasn't posted/shared announcement artwork for each maze announcement like they used to do every year. On top of that, their cover photo is STILL AHS.

Its very underwhelming. It crossed my mind anytime I see a past maze announcement in the "on this day" section.

I think marketing for Hollywood has been good this year solely because of Mr. Murdy. There's been a lot of missed opportunities for announcements but that's been due to the rights holders(Conjuring incident, Ash vs Evil Dead delayed announcement), but I think Universal's handled it well. I'm just glad we don't have Orlando's marketing team, the word "soon" would be a pain in the a** if we had to hear it for two consecutive months

I know we are still waiting on the original house announcements....but I just don't undertand some of Uni's choices here. WE have a festival, which is supposedly a quasi-over-arching theme, but no leader to said activity?  Are we in for another surprise here, but why would you announce the Icon last if so? But if we are really just getting this zone of mascots instead an Icon, I'm not sure how much sense it makes. I thought Uni had seen the errors of their ways when we finally returned to having them 2 years ago. It has to be easier to drive advertising, marketing, in-park merchandising sales, etc. (I'm sure we could think of more). Hopefully we get hit with a surprise outta left field...unless someone else can shed light on any of this?

    The Soul Collectors say hi

  9. Updates from the forums on the quality of the original maze names, credit to Legacy;

Angels vs Demons(previously suspected to be Gothicombs): A creative & memorable name

Voodoo(previously suspected to be Bayou of Blood): Creative

Scarecrows & Soul Collectors: Terrible name

Vampire: Bad name that works for the house

Also, just a reminder to everyone that apparently every house this year is strong, and that if actors deliver there should be no duds(a la Lunatic's Playground).

I seriously doubt the incident in Hollywood had anything to do with this.  Either they think this show has run its course, and it's time for something new.  Or, the theater is being torn down, and logistically it won't work.

A B&T shirt would be most excellent

From what Legacy said on the forums he made it sound like it's getting harder to write parodies because of how quickly pop culture moves nowadays. He said you could write something in June and it's already dated by October so if I had to guess they just might be having a hard time writing, as well as Universal thinking the show has run it's course

Bill and Ted's bogus Halloween journey would make a great house for an anniversary year.

And it probably will be; this was inevitably gonna happen due to the incedint in Hollywood though so as much as I'll miss it I'm not surprised

In a construction video of the JP maze (Insidious) the right window on the facade  inside it looks like a silhouette of a traditional ghost. Idk if it was just a reflection or a prop or just a random sheet, but from the chapter 4 screening I do not recall seeing a traditional ghost , maybe they added it after.

Was the JP house in Chp 4 or no?
