  1. the costumes were good, the puppets were good, the sets were good.

but the rooms are so big, and you have like one or two actors on each one, it feels like walking into a movie set.

doesn't even feel like a house with some rooms, it felt like a really detailed movie set that was empty or something.

I don't know I just thought bigger rooms meant maybe a couple of more actors on each one. The house is already only 8 rooms, and then they don't even have that many actors or puppets on each one. I don't know, they could have at least put up some mannequins or something? it feels kind of deserted

It felt better than Silent Hill, for sure, But then Silent Hill Did not feel this lonely. which is weird,

it's like they fix something but something else doesn't work lol

  2. Just about six hours to go until the event goes live. I wanted to get the sentiment out of the way early and say it has been another fantastic 9 months of speculation and discussion. I want to wish everyone a happy haunting season!

Okay, that out of the way, I'm curious about Herschel's barn. Is it packed to the gills with walkers or is a nice burny smelling place to stop and enjoy a beer and hot dog?

nothing in the park is packed with walkers, nothing. they are pretty spread out in the park.

If you went last year, imagine the last room of the house but smaller and by itself. It is pretty nice, I liked it more than the barn in the house last year.

  3. well they would only need to pay Daryl, Rick and Michonne. That would be 3 actors they need to pay. I wonder, would that even be to much?

Or even just Daryl and RIck, since they are the starts of the show, It makes me wonder how much would the two actors ask for payment... Even if it was just Rick it would had been nice to see him.

  4. I believe AMC would have to pay actors if the characters appeared in the house at HHN. I'm sure I heard that somewhere, they called it an appearance fee?

I wonder, there is no way around that?

what if they made the characters look the way they do in the comics? I don't know, just thinking out loud here...

  5. It doesn't even make sense other than the fact that they must get them made together with the Hollywood shirts and then just print part of the back different. Also can't believe theres no AWIL shirt.

Ps are we going to have to have WD every year until they sell all the zombie merch :)

I have no doubt whatsoever that Walking Dead will be back 2014 and 2015. I guarantee it

  6. The streets really do look good. Even if I wasn't a huge Walking Dead fan, those sets are Universal quality. I hope they don't get ruined. The barn looks awesome from the latest pics JDW posted, and I'm curious how they will pull off the fire effect this year but yeah once the crowds hit that area is probably going to get overcrowded.

The good thing is that people coming here plus the barn plus the zombies, it is going to make it look like a bigger horde of zombies.

  7. I have encountered dead cats at least 6 times in my life.
The first time I Was about 7 or so, and someone had burned a cat and left it on the street. it was half body, half ashes...the head as burned too.... it was disgusting.

the last time was 4 years ago when someone threw their dead cat on the road next to a bus stop, The cat was not run over, someone just left it there.....

  8. Now who was saying there were no characters from the show in this maze? ;)

you know, If we got Zombie Merle and Milton.... Couldn't they have Zombie Shane and Sofia in the barn scarezone? (I am aware that zombie Shane was never near the barn, but he technically became a zombie around that area,)

I would like to see that at least...

  9. I'll say it.

    I think it looks horrible.

    Here's why:

I have never seen the show. The only characters I could really pick out of a line-up are Rick, Daryl and Michonne. I assumed the young girl near the tanks is Penny, but only because I have a passing knowledge of her existence. For me, there is little (aside from the tanks) visually interesting or unique.

If you know anything about the show, I'm sure it looks great. But without that it just comes across as inaccessible, random and boring.

IPs like Cabin in the Woods, Silent Hill and Resident Evil have a wide variety of creatures or settings. American Werewolf, Dead Silence and Evil Dead have specific stories that are retold in the house. Their original houses are original. Even if you know nothing about know nothing about what you're walking into, there's at least something to latch on to.

That was just boring, even for a zombie house. Deadtropolis and Zombiegeddon had more variety.

As someone who wants some viable reason to really catch my attention to justify attending, that was really disappointing. I really hope that wasn't their best foot this year.

I everything there is to know about the show ( I watch it) and I am really not that excited. I am interested to see it but I do not expect a really awesome house or anything.

The sets look like they are going to be great but... I don't know. What I mean is, as a fan of the show.... meh

  10. out of 8 houses there will be some houses that are not that great. But that can be a good thing because that lets you have more time to visit the good houses over and over lol :)

(the problem becomes when more than half of the houses are disappointing, like last year, because then you end up repeating the same two houses too much lol)

  11. the problem with zombies is that they usually will do some red paint wounds, some eye shadow or something like that. So they don't look that scary or that impressive.

that is my fear for Resident Evil too. Unless they use prosthetics zombie make up never really looks that awesome. it looks like people with red paint on their face.

  12. It's just going to be about a little imagination. They aren't going to have the budget to pull off the exact effects from the show, sadly. Last years zombies weren't awful (save for the inability to do the reach/lunge scares), and I think TWD house could still pull off a few decent scares based on distraction and misdirection. Isn't that all that 'magic' is, anyway?

well last year I never really hated on the masks. I said it before, masks for me are better than make up because with make up all you see is just people with face paint. Doesn't really look that great.

And like I was saying from watching the two videos of Walking Dead, the zombies with make up and no masks, look just like that, guys and girls with some face paint and some painted wounds.

Even though a lot of people hated the masks at least the actors looked like zombies with them. So from the beginning of last year I always said, I rather have crappy masks than peeps with a little bit of red face paint and some eye shadow...

I personally am totally fine with the masks
